Jungkook is the son of Jeon Jihyun, the well known CEO of Jeon industries. His elder brother Namjoon was currently assisting his dad in the family business. Jungkook didn't have much interest, though he did tag along with his brother at times, just to pacify his dad. Jungkook was more into games and had a vision in mind to start a gaming company but his dad didn't see a future in that and often discouraged it.

Jungkook never received love from his family - his mom and dad were busy in their careers, and he has always been self dependent and capable so his family never worried about him. Namjoon cared for his brother even when he was busy at the office but lately he had met someone - Seokjin and the two had hit it off and ever since then, Namjoon didn't have much time to spare for his brother. It's not like Jungkook minded but he did wish he had someone too.

Jungkook first met Jimin when the boy introduced himself in his class. The boy had just moved to Seoul and had gotten into this prestigious college through a scholarship. Jungkook found the boy cute but didn't care too much. Jimin was just like any other classmate to him.

It was actually when their professor asked the two to pair up for a project that the two got to finally interact

"Alright... so now that we have decided what to do... let's decide where to meet up? Your place or mine?" Jungkook says already taking up his backpack and standing up

"Hmm.. is it okay if we meet at BangTan Cafe... they have a quiet room for college students with free wifi and unlimited soft drinks for one hour for just 5 dollars... we just have to show them our college ID..."

Jungkook looks at the boy, frowning "I have all that and more back at my home.. why don't we just hang there if you don't like me being at your place.."

"I am just not comfortable..."

Jungkook sighs "Fine..."

The project discussion went on for 2 weeks but their friendship continued after that as well. Jungkook found that Jimin shared interests similar to him and they formed a beautiful friendship soon - one where Jimin treated the man like an equal, unlike other people around him who approached him for their own benefits. Jimin would often bring Jungkook traditional home cooked meals, interesting recipes he just tried out - it was Jimin's dream to start his own baking shop. Jungkook felt comfortable with the boy, he felt at home, he felt happy.

Jimin never went to Jungkook's home because he would often say he didn't deserve to be at a rich guy's home and that if he saw such a house, he might not look at Jungkook the same anymore. Jimin never invited Jungkook to his place either but he wouldn't give a reason why.

One day, Jungkook was hanging out with Jimin as usual- they hung out everywhere - park, beach, library, shopping mall. Jungkook was upset that his dad had scolded him once again because he wasn't showing any interest in the office matters. Jungkook didn't have the time, he just wanted to spend all his time with Jimin. Mr Jeon didn't appreciate that and asked Jungkook to stop hanging out with Jimin

Jimin understood the man and encouraged Jungkook to talk to his dad about everything. He didn't like that a father son relationship would be in ruin based on some misunderstandings. Jimin gave his full support to his gaming ideas and told to make a PowerPoint presentation and explain it to Mr Jeon

"What would I do without you?" Jungkook sighs as he looks at the boy. He was so overwhelmed that Jimin really understood his side

"Hmmm... I guess gaming or sleeping? ..." Jimin giggles seeing Jungkook's stunned face

"Very funny.." Jungkook mocks him before looking at the boy and sighs

"What?"

"Why don't you tell me about your family? It's always me telling you about mine..."

Jimin looks away "... there is nothing to tell... you already know my dad is working in Daegu and my mom is here with me.. dad made her come here to accompany me....now, enough about me... let's head home..."

"You are hiding something..." Jungkook mumbles

Jungkook goes to Jimin's home one day. Not because he wanted to invade on Jimin's privacy but he had taken the boy's book by mistake - he knew the address, he had dropped Jimin off once.

Jungkook's heart breaks when he hears yelling inside the house before he could ring the bell. Jimin's step mom was scolding him for not cutting the vegetables bigger

"Useless piece of shit!" And then Jungkook hears a loud slap

Jungkook rings the bell and waits in anticipation

Mrs Park opens the door

"H-Hello Mrs Park... is Jimin home?"

"And who are you?"

"I'm Jungkook ... I'm his ..."

Jungkook's eyes widen when he sees the state of the house- books and furniture thrown aside

"Where is Jimin?! Is he okay?!" Jungkook tries to enter the house but Mrs Park stops him

"Who the fck are you? Are you his boyfriend or something?!"

"He is my classmate, mom..."

Jungkook's heart picks up pace when he sees Jimin - a slight bruise around his cheek in the dim lighting of the house

"J-Jimin are you..."

"Jungkook-ah... I am tired and I was just going to bed... is everything okay with you? Why are you here?"

"I just came to return your book...I .. you ..."

"Thank you..." Jimin says taking the book " ..I will see you tomorrow okay?"

Jungkook stood stunned when the door closed on his face. He understood now why Jimin didn't want him to come here. Mrs Park was abusive and was a homophobe.

Jungkook talks to Jimin the next day but the boy refuses to accept his step mom's abuse and if unwilling to let Mr Park know about the same.

Jungkook is angry for the boy and decides to ask his dad for help. His dad could get a restraining order against that woman and much more

Mr Jeon sighs hearing Jungkook's retelling of the story. The two hadn't made up yet and here Jungkook was asking for favors that did nothing to help himself.

"Okay. I will help you..."

Jungkook's dad had a demand though, nothing was for free

Jungkook had to go to USA and train for the CEO position, marry A/N their US branch manager's daughter.

If you are wondering why Jungkook couldn't help Jimin by himself - it is because no authorities listened to him without proof and Jimin didn't want to press charges against his stepmother either. But one word from his dad would be enough to jail the lady even if Jimin protested.

All Jungkook wanted was to save the boy and get Jimin into his dream job. And so he agreed.

While Mr Jeon looked into the legal aspects of helping Jimin, Jungkook introduced Jimin to Jin. Jin owned many baking shops across Korea. Jimin got to train with Jin in his spare time

Once the deal was done though Jungkook refused to leave Jimin and so Mr Jeon cut Jungkook off. But that didn't bother the man, Jungkook worked hard on his own and helped Jimin. Jungkook worked as the cash keeper at the shop Jimin worked at, the one Jin put him in charge of. Jungkook stayed up at night to start his gaming company after work, starting a YouTube channel. Jimin supported him through it all

Mr Jeon kept tabs on his son. He watched as his son became responsible for his own decisions and the man couldn't be more proud. Mr Jeon would never do anything to hurt his son but he wanted to make sure if his son was just infatuated with the boy and also if Jimin really liked his son back. He got his answer

Jungkook and Jimin started dating ever since Mrs Park was arrested. Mr Park divorced the lady after he got to know about her mistreatment to his son.

Mr Jeon visits Jungkook at Jimin's home

"Jungkook... come home son. I saw your YouTube gaming channel and I must say I am really impressed... I can see that you have a bright future ahead of you, I'm sorry if I didn't appreciate it earlier ... I want you and Jimin to come and stay with us... or the new apartment that we just bought... after all my son in law shouldn't be staying in a run down place like this..." Mr Jeon smiles making Jungkook grin wide and Jimin blush

"Thanks dad"

"Anytime... I hope to see you guys soon..."

Soon,

Jungkook backhugs Jimin, who was busy cleaning up after his dad left

"Did I say how much I love you, today?"

"Only every time I wake up..." Jimin smiles feeling Jungkook turns him around

"I love you so much Jimin... thank you for everything"

"I love you too Jungkook" Jimin says already feeling Jungkook's lips press against his forehead
