if we had a second chance

i often wonder

to do things over again

would we make the same blunders

would we walk the same path

or find a new way

would we seek out old mistakes

or begin a new day

would we remember the past

or relive the memories

would we seek refuge

or look for a reprieve

would we forge a new life

new loves, new friends

or

would we simply make the same mistakes

if we were born again
