don't you just love those people

who tell you

"i'll get on it right away"

minutes turn into hours 

and the hours stretch to days

and before you even realize it

six months have passed away

and still they maintain the promise

"just as soon as i get some time"

they probably are somewhat sincere

but it just seems to keep slipping their minds

me,

i don't say nothing

i just see what has to be done

and then, guess what

i do it

smack !

another home run

so,

don't keep making promises

just get off your fat ass

put down the remote control

change the lights, mow the grass

maybe paint that room

or replace the broken chandelier

clean up the garage

put up the shelves that have been sitting in the corner

for the last year

shall i go on

they are all promises that you made

lets just get one thing done

do away with that failing grade
