Human - Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) x Reader
For me, there is only one Judge Dredd, and that is Karl Urban's version. Hope you enjoy.
Dredd made his way back into the Halls of Justice, ignoring the new recruits that chattered to one another as he passed. Ignoring the other Judges that were making their way out onto the Mega-Highways of Mega City One to deal out justice to all those that were foolish enough to break the law.
All he wanted to do today was go home. He didn't normally let the job, the horrors that he witnessed that people could inflict on one another, without a damn, affect him. Things like feelings, emotions, well, they were for other people, not for Judges. Not for him. For he had lost faith in humanity a long time ago. But today.......well, if he was truthful, it wasn't just today that he had begun to notice a difference in himself. It had been since a certain new Judge had come to Mega City One, and made him think that there could possibly be one person left in the dark world, that he could actually have faith in. Could........could actually care about.
"Ah, Joesph........." A rather sultry voice called out, as he entered the Judges locker room. A low growl leaving his lips, as he made his way over to his locker.
"Judge (Y/l/n)..........." He retorted roughly. Laying his palm of the electronic lock on the door that held his gear.
"Oh Joseph. Always so formal, even after all this time. You are allowed to call me (Y/n) you know. Many things may be against the law, but that isn't one of them........not yet, anyway......" The female Judge continued, as she leant against the locker next to his. Dredd just letting out a growl, which would normally see most others scurrying away; but with (Y/n), well, she just seemed to like it.
"Anyway........what are you doing here........?" (Y/n) enquired, doing her best to sneak a look into his locker. A chuckle leaving her, as he quickly closed it.
"End of my shift. Going home............" The sound of his gravelly voice, sending a wonderful shiver down her spine.
"You have an end of shift.........? You.........the feared Judge Joseph Dredd? I thought you worked all day, every day. 24/7. I thought you were some kind of machine that had been created that didn't need to eat or sleep, and just lived here in the Halls." (Y/n) countered. A broad smile creeping across her lips, as her fellow Judge just shook his head and sat down on the bench in front of them. Appearing to be doing his best to ignore her.
As soon as she had got to Mega City One and been introduce to Dredd, she had been completely fascinated by him. She had known of his reputation before she had even got to the Halls of Justice, how could she not; he was one the most feared and respected Judge to ever don the uniform. A man that seemed to have as little time for his fellows, as he did the perps that he judged. And that had made her want to get to know him all the more; to try and understand the man that lay behind the helmet that she had never seen him take off. That, and his voice, the quirk of his lips and the growl that he used to warn off others, had the ability to make her weak at the knees.
"So, Judge Dredd is really just as human as the rest of us, then.......wow. Now that is something I thought I would never hear......" She continued, as she came to stand over him; (Y/n) a little surprised that he didn't move away from her, as her knees brushed against his.
"Mind if I ask you a question..........?"
"Yes.........."
"Good, it wouldn't be any fun if it wasn't going to annoy you........" Her remark making Dredd look up at her.
"Do you, Joesph Dredd, ever take off that helmet? Because in all the time I have been here, not once have I seen the face of the man that lays beneath it. Which I have to say, I think is a shame............."
"You don't need to see me. My face isn't important, just how I do the job......."
"Ah, well you may be right that I don't need to see your face; but that does not mean that I don't want to. Because I really would like to know if it is as good as I have imagined........" (Y/n) retorted, as she carefully placed her hands on either side of his helmet and slowly began to raise it......."
"Don't.........." Dredd told her, placing his hand over hers to stop her. (Y/n) pulling her hand out from under his and moving it down to his stubbled jaw.
"Why........? Is it against the law.......? Would you punish me, if I were to take it from your head. Would you discipline me if I were to see your face? Or perhaps you just don't want me to see you without it, because you are scared that it will prove that you really are human just like all the rest of us. That underneath all the gruff, all that growl; underneath the uniform and the reputation, there is just a man........a flawed man like any other.........." She continued, as her fingers brushed over his jaw.
"But, if you change your mind.........." (Y/n) pulling a slip of paper from her pocket, before pushing it into Dredd's hand.
"That's my address. And if you want to come around, I would be more than happy to show you that its not all that bad being human. With or without the helmet..........." She told him. Giving a wink, before leaning down and placing her lips to his. A soft moan leaving her, as she felt him kiss her back.
"See you around, Joseph. Though hopefully if I do, it will be sooner rather than later. Because if you are interested, I am free tonight.........." Her lips brushing over his as she spoke, before she stood back up. Smiling one last time, before she made her way out of the room. Dredd looking at the paper in his hand, then pushing it into his pocket and getting to his feet. An actual smile pulling at the corners of his lips, as he opened his locker again. The Judge sure that he could find some time that night to go and see her; some time to find out whether being human, if only with her, wasn't that bad after all.
