Finally - LotR - Legolas x Reader
Now, I know that Gil-galad never married or had children, but I got the thought in my mind for this, so I hope that you will forgive me taking some artistic license 😊
Legolas and (Y/n) stood on the balcony of their private rooms in Minas Tirith. (Y/n) resting her head on his shoulder as they looked out over the great white city of men. The darkness that surrounded them in its gentle embrace, lit only by the lights of all the homes that had been rebuilt since the battle.
It was their wedding day. After all this time and all they had been though, the pair had finally been able to promise themselves to one another. Aragorn more than happy when his two friends had wanted to hold the ceremony in the city. More than happy to call all their comrades from the War of the Rings, to Easternmost point of the White Mountains. Even the Elvenking had journeyed from his woodland realm, to see the two speak the words and exchange their rings. A celebration, almost as grand as for the wedding of Aragorn and Arwen, following. Yet the newlyweds had quietly left as soon as they knew that they would not be missed; glad to leave their friends and family to enjoy the hospitality of Aragorn, while they enjoyed the company of one another.
It had been quite a surprise for the elves who had come to Imladris for Elrond's council, to see the elleth that was welcomed by the peredhel, before taking a seat next to the lord's own chair; surprised not because she was the only female allowed at the proceedings, but because of who and what she was; a Ñoldorin Elf, the Lady (Y/n). The last of the line of the High King of the Ñoldor in Middle-earth, of the High King of the Elves of the West, King of the Eldar, King of Lindon, Lord of the High Elves, and the Lord of Eriador, the great Ereinion Gil-galad. Her presence causing quite some interest amongst all those that knew of her lineage. But one elf.........one elf found that there was something more stirring inside him as he looked upon the beautiful elleth. Something more than mere interest in why she was also there. Something he believed was impossible after what had happened with Tauriel all those years before. But there had been no denying the skip in the beat of his heart, as he caught her eye; no denying that he had felt a smile pull at the corner of his lips, when she had risen to her feet and put Boromir in his place for questioning her presence at the meeting. The prince of the Woodland realm not sure whether to be happy or concerned when she had also volunteered to accompany Frodo; yet all the worries he might have had for her safety, for her abilities, were quickly dispelled once they had arrived at Moria, and he had seen how she fought not only against the beast that had lurked in dark stagnant pool beneath the western walls of dwarven realm; but also the goblins and their cave troll. The lady proving that she was every inch the heir of the famed warrior elf king. Legolas finding himself growing closer and closer to her as their quest continued, enjoying the fact that she took great delight in joining in the little competitions that he and Gimli would have. The lady always laughing when she saw the looks on the faces of the two males when she would beat both of them, as well as when she had agreed with Gimli, when the dwarf had insisted that the Mûmakil only counted as one kill. Yet it had been at the feast in the Golden Hall of Edoras, after his drinking competition with Gimli, that Legolas had finally felt emboldened enough to speak to the lady about his feelings. The woodland prince finding her stood outside the hall; the wind delicately moving through her hair, as the light of the moon made her look even more ethereal and perfect than she already did. He watching her for a little while longer, before she turned and faced him. His heart beating at a pace, as she had made her way over to him and took his hands in her, before asking if he was well. Legolas in that moment unable to stop himself from speaking what his heart had wanted to say since he had first set eyes on her in Imladris.......that he was in love with her. The prince now knowing that whatever feelings that he had had for Tauriel, they had not been true love; for true love stood before him at that moment. Legolas feeling a happiness he had never known, when she had confessed that she felt the same for him before her lips had found his.
"Gimli will probably never forgive us for not telling him that we were leaving......." Legolas finally spoke, as he combed his fingers carefully through the hair of his bride.
"Well, given that he had challenged half of the men that had come from Rohan and Ithilien to a drinking competition, I doubt he will think about it until tomorrow. And I am sure that he will understand, meleth nîn. After all, given all the time that he has spent with us, he is now aware of elven wedding traditions; he knows that elves are not truly married until.........." Legolas smiling and placing his hand on her cheek, as she blushed. The pair looking at one another for a moment longer, before the prince lifted her from the floor and carried her to the bed; (Y/n) smiling as he slowly moved on top of her. This the moment that they had both been waiting for; that they had fought so long and hard, to have. To finally be join in body and spirit, and finally be able to give themselves to one another for the rest of their days.
