Jungkook is in an arranged marriage with Y/N. They were definitely not in love but Y/N slowly accepted her husband, which led her to hope for a fictional romance between them, which in fact led her to fall for the man. Jungkook on the other hand slowly accepted Y/N as his wife seeing that they were technically married. They both never felt the need to be physically intimate yet. They enjoyed getting to know the other first

"Jimin ah!" Y/N screams seeing Jimin outside her house. Jimin was her best friend who was working in the states and couldn't make it to the wedding. Jimin moved back to Korea

Jungkook's eyes glitter when he sees Jimin. He never knew a man could look so innocently beautiful and angelic. Jungkook's heart clenched watching Y/N and Jimin together. He was jealous but of whom?

Y/N teased her husband when Jungkook glared at them both, yet again

"Don't worry, I'm all yours. Jimin is gay..."

Jungkook and Jimin spend a lot of time together soon enough. Jimin needed help buying an apartment and settling in and who was there to help beside his best friend, her husband of course.

Jungkook and Jimin soon realise they had a lot more in common and shared a various amount of interests between them. Y/N was happy to see her husband getting along with her best friend.

One day Jimin and Y/N's old school decided to have a reunion. Jungkook of course tagged along. That reunion also focused on the LGBTQ community and supporting them. Jimin sang the song serendipity for the crowd. Y/N was happy enjoying the song her best friend sang but her smile disappears when she sees Jungkook watching the boy perform with such awe. She was jealous

Later on during the course of the evening, Jimin was approached by his senior Taemin. The man wanted to date Jimin but the boy clearly was not interested.

"Where are you going Jungkook?" Y/N asks confused when she sees Jungkook get up from his seat, beside her

Jungkook grits his teeth "That man is flirting with my...your best friend... shouldn't we help?"

Y/N looks to the direction Jungkook was pointing at and sighs ".... that is Taemin, he was our senior and wouldn't stop bullying Jimin in school... yeah, I think you should go... maybe act like his boyfriend or something..."

And before Y/N couldn't even complete her words, Jungkook back hugged Jimin and told Taemin that the boy was his boyfriend

Because of Jungkook saying he was Jimin's boyfriend and because the reunion was focusing on the LGBTQ relationships, the two were asked to sing a song. The two sang - rewrite the stars - with much emotion that broke Y/N's heart. Jungkook and Jimin looked at each other with such longing and passion, it hurt.

Jungkook starts as he looks at Jimin with love

The song ends as Jungkook slowly walks up to Jimin but stops when Jimin whispers the lyrics, his voice cracking

Y/N could see the love Jimin and Jungkook had for each other. Jungkook never looked at her that way.

She was upset and after the performance she talks to Jimin when Jungkook excuses himself to the bathroom and asks the boy to stop contacting Jungkook as she was uncomfortable

Jungkook was now upset whenever Jimin cut the call or told him that he was busy. Jungkook could see Jimin was clearly avoiding him.

Jungkook goes to Jimin's apartment one day to confront him.

"Jungkook?! Why are you here? Y/N is coming over..." Jimin's eyes widen when Jungkook invites himself and closes the door behind him "...please! I beg you!" Jimin is desperate

"So what if Y/N sees me here? I'm your friend too right?" Jungkook's eyes reflect anger

"Y-Yes..."

Jungkook cups Jimin's face when the boy looks away "...you are hiding something... tell me... what is it?"

Jimin's eyes tear up. He really loved the man in front of him

"I love you..." Jimin breathes out and Jungkook's eyes widen as the grip on Jimin's face tightens

"What did you just say?" Jungkook's eyes reflect desperation

"I love you.... But I can't be with you..." a tear rolls down Jimin's cheek and Jungkook gently wipes it again

"Why? Why can't you..." Jungkook whispers

"Because you are married to my best friend..." Jimin whispers back his voice reflects his breaking heart and Jungkook's grip on Jimin's face loosens

Jungkook let's out a sob

"But I love you too..."

Jimin's cries watching the man he came to love, break down in front of him

"I love you Jimin... I want to be with you..."

"But you have Y/N... you can't do that to her... neither can I..." Jimin sobs

Jungkook comes forward and gently hugs the boy who wept on his shoulder

"I know... and I am so sorry for that..."

The two sit down and have a heart to heart about their feelings and about Y/N.

Jungkook leaves after an hour with a heavy heart. Jimin decides to move back to his grandparent's house for a change

Y/N felt guilty. She had heard everything. She was happy Jungkook chose her in the end but she could see the man lacked that glow and life in his eyes. She could see her husband fall into depression when she told him that Jimin left Seoul.

Y/M tried to fight for a relationship that was long over. She knew she was fighting for a non existent relationship, she wanted to hate both Jungkook and Jimin but really were they to be blamed? Jungkook didn't love her even before Jimin came into his life so she never really had a chance. And even though Jungkook could leave her and be with Jimin, he chose not to hurt her in the end. Jungkook sacrificed his own happiness for her. Jungkook was indeed a kind man. She never regretted marrying him.

Y/N sighs as she signs the divorce papers. She left the house when Jungkook was on a weekend meeting trip to Daegu.

Jungkook breaks down when he reads the note after he returns home

I loved you Jungkook but I can't make you love me back. Please be happy with Jimin. I know he loves you too. I already signed the papers. I really don't have the strength to face you. Please set me free so I can marry someone who will love me back.

Jungkook is upset. He never meant to hurt her. He calls her immediately and she answers with a smile and cheerful voice, at least she tried

"I forgive you. I'm happier knowing that Jimin will always be there for you.... don't worry I will find my special someone too. Don't forget to invite me to your wedding and you both should definitely come to mine when I do find someone"

They chuckle sadly with tears streaming down their face, knowing this was a goodbye

"I'm really sorry Y/N..."

"I know..."

And just like that they get divorced

Jungkook had received Jimin's address from Y/N. They both talk and decide to date and get to know the other slowly

Jimin was reluctant of course. He couldn't forgive himself for being the cause of his best friend's divorce but then Y/N calls him as well and asks him to give Jungkook a chance

It's been a year of the two dating now. Jimin and Jungkook were completely and madly in love. They were cuddling each other on the bed when Jimin's phone rings- it was Y/N.

"Y/N?"

"Jimin! Hey! How are you and Jungkook?!" Y/N screams excited

Jimin and Jungkook chuckle at her cuteness

"We are good Y/N... how about you?" Jungkook says as the call is put on speaker

"You remember the promise I made before?"

"Promise? What promise?" Jimin is confused

"Dumbo! I told you I would invite you to my wedding right?"

Jungkook and Jimin, their eyes widen

"You are getting married?!"

Y/N chuckles "Yes, his name is Jin. He is my boss actually. We fell in love at first sight... I never thought my actual fantasies would ever come true... I feel so lucky to have him..." Y/N blahs about her love life and Jimin and Jungkook were so proud of how strong she was and how much she deserved this after the heartbreak she received

"...so you guys will come right?"

"Of course we couldn't miss it for the world Y/N" Jimin says

"I'm still waiting for my invite to your wedding...okay bye..." Y/N cuts the call

Jimin giggles at her childishness but then it disappears when Jungkook pulls out a ring from the necklace he was wearing. Jungkook had bought the ring a long time ago but knowing Jimin, he never proposed to the boy. He knew Jimin would not accept it wholeheartedly, not until Y/N was happy with someone else.

How come I never noticed that diamond ring before?

"Huh?"

Jungkook chuckles knowing that Jimin had zoned out when he saw the ring and hadn't heard anything he had said

"I asked you to marry me..." Jungkook slips the ring onto Jimin's finger before kissing it "....Jeon Jimin..."

"Oh my..." Jimin blushes "...that sounds really sexy..."

"I know right!"

They both laugh before they look into the other's eyes with love

"I love you Jeon Jungkook" Jimin says when Jungkook cups his face

"I love you too..." Jungkook kisses the boy's forehead softly "...Jeon Jimin..."
