Jungkook sighs as he watches Jimin sleep - his newly wed. Jungkook is a police officer. The head commissioner is Mr Park, his boss. He was diagnosed with cancer and asked Jungkook, the man's favorite officer, to marry Jimin, his son. Jungkook couldn't refuse the man's last wish.

Jimin is a doctor by profession.

Jungkook is cold towards Jimin. Why? The man doesn't believe in love anymore. Why? Because he was betrayed by his ex-girlfriend A/N.

A/N was Jungkook's neighbour growing up. They used to acknowledge each other but nothing more than that.

After Jungkook joined the police force, he coincidentally meets A/N in Seoul and they catch up as friends. Jungkook develops feelings for her after she confesses to him and they date for a while till she betrays him. A/N used Jungkook to get inside information about their next drug raid. She was part of the drug mafia and she purposely befriended him after she got to know who the new employee was.

Jungkook was heartbroken. A/N didn't hesitate to point her gun at him but his partner Yoongi gets shot while saving him while he stood frozen

Ever since then he owed never to love anyone else again.

Jimin sighs, waiting for the man's return again. Jungkook had asked him not to wait for him but Jimin still did and that often led to the man being angry at the tiny boy.

"Come... let me help you..." Jimin pulls Jungkook to the sofa and grabs the first aid to treat the man's wound

"I told you I could do it myself!" Jungkook says coldly

"I know you can..." Jimin smiles slightly "...but I want to do it for you..."

"Why?"

"...because I love you..."

Yes, Jimin has started saying the I love you word for a while now. And yes, he knows about Jungkook's past from his dad and he had also confronted Jungkook about the same

"Do you still love A/N... is that why you don't want this marriage to work?" Jimin asks tiredly. He was so tired receiving the cold shoulder from his husband every day

Jungkook stood quiet

"Jungkook..."

"Don't I give you freedom? Don't I take care of your every need? I do my responsibilities as your husband then why are you asking me this?" Jungkook is irritated

Jimin sadly smiles. It's true. Although Jungkook doesn't spend much time with him or talk to him, the man still manages to make his heart skip a beat by doing things unexpectedly around the house. It often gave Jimin hope that Jungkook liked him but now he wasn't so sure

"...responsibilities as a husband... am I just another responsibility to you ,Jungkook?" Jimin has tears in his eyes and something in Jungkook's chest aches seeing that "...I love you...I have for a while now... been loving you despite your coldness towards me... as if I am nothing to you..." Jimin stares at the man "I know you have been broken before... but I am not A/N... if you give me the chance then I will be with you... be your rock, your strength, your happiness... your safe haven...please... I want to know if I have that chance..." Jimin was desperate for an answer

Jungkook sighs "...I don't know... I never thought I would be in this situation... in a marriage... I still believe love is for losers and I want no part in it... all I can say is I promise I will be with you till my last breath... I will be here right next to you as a friend.... Married on paper... but I don't think I can love you back..."

Jimin has tears flowing down his cheeks as Jungkook's words hit him

"Jimin... I'm sorry..." Jungkook reaches out to wipe the boy's tears but Jimin steps back

"Don't touch me if you don't see me as your husband..." Jimin says and somehow it made Jungkook's eyes water "...don't worry I won't bother you unnecessarily ... but I will do my best to make you believe in love again... to make you love me not just because you have to.... But because you want to..." and then Jimin leaves the room

Everyday Jimin tries to make the man feel loved, he shows the man reasons to love himself. Jungkook hated himself for falling for someone who betrayed him. He was in self guilt and started hating himself. He felt it was his fault that Yoongi got hurt that day. He lost hope in himself but his lost hope was restored by Jimin's love for him. Jimin's constant praise, encouragement and compliments made him love himself. And once he learned to love himself, he was able to accept the fact that he had loved Jimin for a long time now.

Jimin could see the change in Jungkook as the days went by. Jungkook started joking and laughing along with him, something the man never did. Jungkook would come to the hospital to pick up the boy and take them out for dinner. They started cuddling to sleep. Jimin even dared to kiss Jungkook's cheeks sometimes and the man didn't stop him.

The thing that was missing was Jungkook's response to Jimin's I love yous

Jimin knew it was just a matter of time before Jungkook would be confessing too.

"A/N... Kim A/N..." Jimin says

Jungkook had just come to pick Jimin up as usual when he overhears Jimin's words.

Jungkook opens the boy's cabinet door without knocking to see A/N sitting on the patient side of the seat

"J-Jungkook..."

"What the fck are you doing here?!" Jungkook couldn't control his anger

Jimin leaves the two in his room and lets them talk. He had another patient to follow up in the ward anyways. A/N had come to talk about her brother's condition. Jimin was treating him. It was her first time coming to the hospital

It's been nearly half an hour since Jimin left the two alone. Jimin decides to go and see how the conversation is going when he sees A/N leaning in to kiss the man's cheeks while Jungkook looked like he had been crying

Jimin leaves, feeling his heart broken. Did the two rekindle their lost love?

Jungkook frowns when he gets a message from Jimin that he was home already. Jungkook immediately leaves for home from the hospital

Jungkook rushes home to see Jimin washing dishes in the kitchen. He immediately back hugs the boy

"Why did you leave without telling me? I was waiting for you..."

"...I came back..." Jimin tries not to break down "...I saw you guys had a lot to talk... and I saw how upset you were... and she kissed you... so I left..." Jimin says, his voice cracking

What actually happened

"J-Jungkook... .... I'm sorry for everything I did .... But I had no choice... they had kept my mother and brother captive and..."

"I don't need any explanation A/N... if its forgiveness you want then you have it... only because Yoongi hyung is alright now..." Jungkook says and turns to leave when A/N speaks again

"I still love you.... Don't you love me too?"

Jungkook turns around "I'm sorry but the truth is... I never loved you..." Jungkook says making A/N's heart break "...I thought I did but the love I have for my Jimin... that's.. that's love..." Jungkook smiles

"I don't believe you.....you promised me that you love me..."

Jungkook looks at the girl ".... the love I feel for him is nothing compared to what I felt for you... the two can't even be compared... I loved you ... it hurt to be betrayed.... but that's a given isn't it?...." Jungkook questions "...but with Jimin... it hurts to lose that sense of home and safety I feel around him ... I was never afraid to lose you....but with him... I know I will die the second he leaves me...." Jungkook says and A/N looks at him "...With you... you came into my life when I needed support... I had just lost my parents and was struggling with being a police officer .... but with Jimin... he came into my life when I lost myself... he taught me to love myself and to trust in myself... with you I never felt it... I was just used to being with you... with him, I feel like we are one soul..."

"Y-You really love him huh? Your eyes never held the spark and shine when you were with me..."

Jungkook hums as he gets emotional. He himself can't believe that he loves someone now. His Jimin. He let's down tears remembering how much he had hurt the boy and how he wished he never had a love with A/N. He wanted to share his firsts with Jimin but sadly A/N got to him first.

"I'm still sorry for everything... please forgive me..." A/N apologizes as she leans in to place a soft kiss against the man's cheek. She then leaves knowing she has no role in the man's life anymore

Back to present

"You misunderstood..." Jungkook says turning Jimin around to wipe the boy's tears "...I love you..." Jimin's eyes widen "...but I felt so guilty that I had a first love before... that I was with someone else before you...I couldn't help but cry at that... she just kissed me as an apology before I could stop her... I'm sorry...." Jungkook has tears in his eyes as he holds Jimin's palms against his chest "...this heart is beating just for you... the day you go... this heart will stop too.."

"J-Jungkook..." Jimin's eyes widen

"I love you Jimin... I'm just so sorry to keep you waiting all this time..."

Jimin smiles, tears flowing down his cheeks "...you have no idea how much I longed to hear you say that..."

"I know baby... I'm sorry... but I promise from now on... you will know through my words and actions exactly how much I really do love you..."

"I never doubted that... but it's so good to hear you say you love me back..." Jimin shyly smiles

"I love you..." Jungkook kisses Jimin's forehead "I love you..." he kisses the boy's eyes "...I love you..." he kisses Jimin's cheeks "...I love you so much..." Jungkook softly kisses the boy's lips

"...and I love you..." Jimin whispers against Jungkook's lips
