This might be similar to the half-brothers story I wrote on my old account. I wonder if anyone remembers it

Jungkook and Jimin are step-brothers. Jimin was just 2 years old when his mom married Jungkook's dad. The two adults were best friends. Jungkook's dad lost his wife in childbirth and the pain of losing his mate nearly killed him and so Mrs Park marries her best friend - they weren't intimate as they never loved the other in that way, though she allowed herself to be marked as Mr Jeon's mate - to save him from a life of pain. She fortunately didn't have to undergo the pain of losing Mr Park because she was pregnant with Jimin at the time and that created a bond of Mr Park within her.

The two brothers loved each other. Jimin, especially, was overprotective of his younger brother and Jungkook loved the attention. The younger boy would often hurt himself on purpose to get Jimin's loving care.

Everything was well between the brothers, that was until Jimin presented as an omega on his 13th birthday. His mom separated the two boys and warned Jimin to only associate himself with either omegas or betas, as alphas could be dangerous for a male omega - they weren't that common, and at the time even though Jungkook hadn't presented yet, his friends were all senior alphas (13 to 16 years of age) - most of them being their neighbors

Jungkook as a 11 year old was extremely hurt and couldn't understand why he couldn't be with Jimin in the way he used to be, anymore. Jimin wasn't allowed to spend his first heat with Jungkook and the boy cried that night hearing Jimin crying in pain in the other room. All Jungkook wanted to do was to break down the door and cuddle the omega to ease his pain. In fact, he did try and ended up getting locked in his room by Mr Jeon.

When Jungkook presented as an alpha at the age of 13, he bullied Jimin. Why? Because the omega kept even more to himself and that really hurt the alpha.

The bullying consisted of him teasing Jimin's height, playing loud music while the omega was sleeping or talking to the boy a bit rudely. All of this to simply get the omega's attention.

This went on till they were both in college. Jungkook and Jimin went on to two different colleges but would meet when the two came back home for vacations

"Who are you looking for, honey?" Mrs Park asks the alpha

"Isn't Jimin coming home from college today, mom?" Jungkook asks his mom, looking disappointed as he couldn't spot the omega

"He is your hyung, Jungkook. Don't call him by name.." Mrs Park softly warns him

"I will never see him as my brother!" Jungkook scoffs

Mrs Park sighs as she prepares Jungkook's tea time snacks

"Jimin is out with Hoseok...."

"Who is that?" Jungkook frowns

"....hopefully his soon to be fiancée..."

Jungkook's eyes widen, his hands close into a tight fist as he stands up enraged "What did you just say?!"

Jungkook rushes out to the cafe where Jimin was at. He doesn't know why he even wanted to see the omega but the alpha knew he just had to. Just as he reached the cafe, he saw Jimin smiling at a man, possibly Hoseok, through the glass windows, making Jungkook stop in his tracks

"Aah!" Jungkook couldn't help the groan that escaped his lips. His hands reached out to hold his chest. It hurt. It really hurt and then an unsettling feeling emerged from his tummy making his eyes widen

No! What is this? My rut? But I take my suppressants religiously! Aaah! Fck! It hurts so bad!

"J-Jungkook..." a voice brings Jungkook back to reality

"Jungkook... are you okay? I heard a scream from outside and I looked to see it was you..." Jimin's concerns for the alpha made him smile a little

"Is everything okay?" The other voice makes the alpha hurt again

"Fck!" Jungkook groans

"J-Jungkook..." Jimin reaches out to help the alpha but Jungkook pushes him away

"Just shut up! I don't need your help!"

"Hey! He was just trying to help...." Hoseok says holding Jimin in his arms after the omega nearly fell down at the sudden push

Jimin's eyes widen, his eyes glistening with tears and Jungkook immediately rushes back home. He didn't want to go all alpha now. It wouldn't be good for anyone.

Jungkook tries to calm himself down after he comes home. The scenes of the omega being with someone else flashed in his mind and he started hurting all over again.

"....I think Jimin might go into his heat.." Jin says into the phone after Jungkook answered it

Jin is working at the Cafe Jimin was at and Jin has been a close friend to the younger alpha

Jungkook's eyes widen at that

"H-How.. fck! How do you know that?!"

"....I'm not sure... I just.. you know I have bit of a sharp nose when it comes to smells.... I am not close with him.. I don't know if the guy he is with right now has good intentions towards him.... You are all I can call...." Jin says hesitantly

"Aaah!" Jungkook groans in pain at the thought

"Jungkook.. are you in your rut?!" Jin asks alarmed

"That doesn't matter! I'm coming right now!"

Jungkook struggles, his body sweating as he rushes into the cafe.

An alpha in an unexpected rut, especially after taking suppressants, are vulnerable and weak and in a huge deal of pain.

Yet, that never stopped Jungkook from reaching out to protect the omega. His omega.

The alpha's eyes turn red seeing the man hovering over Jimin. From his point of view, it looked like Hoseok was kissing Jimin.

"You fcker! How dare you!" Jungkook pulls Hoseok off of Jimin and punches him in the face

"Jungkook!" Jimin screams in shock and immediately rushes to Hoseok

"W-Why are you g-going to him?! He kissed you!!" Jungkook is upset

"But he didn't kiss me..." Jimin says confused "....he was just checking my crooked teeth.... Hoseok is a dentist"

The sudden relief and adrenaline rush makes Jungkook weak and he faints onto the floor in pain.

Jimin was crying next to the alpha, as Jungkook lay on his bed. After Jungkook had fainted, he was taken to the hospital and after he was on an IV line, the alpha was discharged, even though he was unconscious. The doctor stated it was a normal body reaction to a combination of emotional stress during a sudden rut episode.

Jungkook groans slightly as he wakes up and sits up. Jimin immediately bombards him with questions

"Jungkook! Are you okay?! How are you feeling?! Is it hurting anywhere?! Are you tired?!"

Jungkook smiles at Jimin's concern

"Why are you smiling huh?! Do you know how worried I was?!" A tear rolls down Jimin's cheek "....How could you be so stupid? You knew you were experiencing a rut episode then why did you come back again? What if something happened to you..."

The alpha sighs as he reaches out to wipe Jimin's tear

"I'm sorry... I just thought you were in danger..."

"Danger?" Jimin is confused

"Yea..." Jungkook says, scratching his nape ".... Jin hyung told me that he thought you were getting your heat and I was worried something would happen to you...."

"Y-You were worried about me?!" Jimin's eyes widen

Jungkook pulls Jimin onto his lap, surprising the omega

"J-Jung..."

Jimin's words were cut off by the alpha hugging the omega tightly ".... because I love you..."

The omega's heart beats fast at that

Jungkook pulls away from the hug to cup the omega's face "I love you... not as a brother or a friend...." Jimin could feel his heart pulsing in his ears "....I love you as a lover would..... I have loved you for so long.... And I am so sorry that I kept hurting you all these years... I just wanted your attention...I wanted you to always think of me...and never once forget me..."

Jimin's face reddens

"I... I love you too..."

"You do?" Jungkook is surprised by definitely happy

Jimin looks away in shyness as the alpha looks at him intently.

"....will you be my boyfriend?"

The omega blushes as he nods, still on the alpha's lap

Jungkook grins wide before his smile disappears again

"..... what about mom?... she doesn't like us to be together..."

Jimin frowns "Who said that? Mom knows I love you... she thinks you hate me... that's why she arranged this date with Hoseok to help me move on but he already has someone he loves...."

"Oh, then why did he agree to go on a blind date? Didn't mom know?" Jungkook is confused

"She knew. It wasn't a date today. I wanted to discuss with him about a possible job opportunity as a receptionist at his clinic..."

"But she told me..." Jungkook frowns

"I was just testing you..." Mrs Park walks in, surprising the two "...Jimin, sit back down... that's the place you rightly belong..." she says when she sees Jimin going to get off Jungkook's lap

The two blush in embarrassment

"See, I know Jimin has always loved you, Jungkook... but you, Jungkook ... you have always been a bit hard to read.... I always thought you loved Jimin but then the next moment it seems like you hate him... I was confused.. but today I had to confirm for sure without Jimin knowing and I am glad I did..." she smiles "....you are both my sons... please don't break each other's heart... Can I trust you both?"

"You can trust me, mom" Jungkook says smiling widely

"You can trust me too..." Jimin shyly adds on

"Good. Now I will leave the two of you alone.....maybe I can expect grandkids soon..." she smiles playfully before leaving

"That was embarrassing...." The omega blushes

"Really?" Jungkook noses along Jimin's jaw

"W-What are you doing..." Jimin stutters

"Mom wants grandkids..."

"Yah!" Jimin hits the alpha and tries to get up but Jungkook tightens his hold

"Please stay like this... I missed you.." Jungkook whispers

Jimin smiles as he hugs the alpha back "....I missed you too"

Jungkook pulls back to nose against Jimin's cheek "I love you..so much...my omega"

Jimin looks down to see the alpha looking up at him with love "....I love you too....my alpha"

"May I?" Jungkook looks at Jimin's lips

Jimin nods "..Yes...please"

Jungkook cups the omega's cheek "I love you..."

"I love you too" Jimin whispers against the alpha's lips
