Jungkook and Jimin are in an arranged marriage. They didn't particularly hate each other but they also didn't want to marry at this point of time, since they wanted to establish their careers first before being tied down in a relationship. But they both heed to their parents wishes - Jungkook's mom had physical pains and he didn't want to increase her burden while Jimin's dad had recently suffered a heart attack and so Jimin also agreed to the wedding. The two families were common friends with the Kim family and that's how the proposal came.

After marriage, they were respectful of the other, not interfering in the other's personal space. They lived as if they were staying alone. In the beginning they didn't even hang out during the weekends. Jungkook would be busy catching up on his video games with his friends while Jimin would be either out catching up with his friends or binge watching Kdramas and animes.

This routine continued for about 2 months till one day Jungkook catches Jimin watching his favorite anime.

Jungkook's friend had a family gathering to attend that day so they all decided not to play video games that weekend. Bored out of his mind, Jungkook decides to watch some TV. When he enters the living room he is surprised to hear the soundtrack to his old time favorite anime series.

"You watch anime? Slam dunk?!" Jungkook asks surprised and Jimin flinches

"..ah yea...it's one of my favorites..." Jimin says pausing the video

"Mine too..." Jungkook states and then there is a silence between them

"...uhm.. do you maybe wanna watch it with me?" Jimin asks and Jungkook's eyes widen in excitement

"Yes! Please!" Jungkook says, already settling down next to Jimin making the boy giggle

"...care for some popcorn with Nutella?" Jimin says offering his snacks making Jungkook chuckle

"Where have you been all my life?" Jungkook asks, amused to know that he and his husband shared similar tastes

"...well let's see.." Jimin says, tapping his chin as if he was in deep thought "...I was born in Busan first, you were born 2 years later ... and then I moved to Seoul.. and..."

Jungkook rolls his eyes "Oh shut up!"

Jimin giggles "..fine fine... let's watch dunk..."

"And that's how you do a slam dunk punk!" Jimin yells excited at the anime making Jungkook look at him

So precious - Jungkook smiles watching the boy's childish side. Jungkook definitely liked what he saw

And that was how they started spending time together. Jungkook started playing less and Jimin stopped hanging out so much with his friends- both of them wanted to make their marriage work

Everything was pretty normal between the two. They both had at this point developed feelings for the other but none of them voiced it out. They let their actions speak for them

Jungkook for the past 2 weeks had a hectic work schedule - having to go early to work and coming late.

That night, Jungkook comes home late, tired as usual but he frowns when he can't get his key into the keyhole. He groans realizing that Jimin had put the key in after locking the door

Jungkook rings the bell a couple of times, knocks on the door and calls Jimin's phone but no answer.

Jungkook panics - is Jimin okay?

A few more tries and then he calls the fire station to break down the door. It was late and he couldn't think of anyone else who could help him open the door. Jungkook was afraid Jimin had hurt himself in there

Jungkook's eyes narrow down on the boy who walked into the living room, hearing the loud noise

Jungkook's heart had been beating so fast, he was relieved that Jimin was okay but he couldn't help the anger that bubbled inside him. For the past hour or so he had been worrying about the boy's safety

"J-Jungkook? Why did you break the door?" Jimin is confused

"Why!?" Jungkook is angry as he walks into their bedroom to see the bed full of snacks. Jungkook scrubs his face with his palm "...I was so anxious about you!... I thought something happened to you!... and here you were just eating and sleeping peacefully?! I rang the bell! knocked on the door! called your name!... called your phone but nothing!"

Jimin looks down guilty "...I'm sorry I had my air pods on and I slept off ..."

"Just leave it Jimin! I'm so tired! I have a lot of stress at work! This is not what I needed today..."

"I'm sorry..." Jimin hugs the man suddenly making Jungkook trip a bit

"...did you gain weight? My goodness! I thought a bulldozer hit me!" Jungkook comments in his anger and walks away to the bathroom

Jimin felt hurt. Actually Jimin was also having a rough day. His boss was constantly demanding him to do better. Normally he would talk to his husband about it but he knew Jungkook was having his own share of stress and didn't want to add to it. Jimin's way of dealing with the stress was to munch on a lot of unhealthy foods - that gave him a sort of calmness but it also made him sleepy and tired.

Even if Jimin knew Jungkook said those in his tired emotional state, the boy has always been sensitive about his body and so he decides to starve himself to get rid of the weight he gained in the past 3 days or so.

The next day things were back to normal as if that conversation never happened

Jungkook decides to wake up early and cook for them today as he felt bad for scolding the boy last night

Jimin didn't eat what the man cooked. He was insecure and felt conscious about what he ate and that makes Jungkook angry

"Why aren't you eating now? Is it because I cooked it? Is it because of what I said last night "

"No... I already ate some chocolate chips before..." Jimin lies

"Fine! don't eat! Eat your junk food and get fat!" Jungkook says angrily and walks away without eating his food

Jungkook didn't talk to Jimin for 2 days as he was stuck at work. He just went home to sleep.

Jimin's state wasn't great either - he was overworked and he didn't eat nor sleep properly that led to his health deteriorating

Jungkook was inputting the last of his data, finally getting done with work when he receives a call from Jimin's colleague that the boy had fainted at work and was hospitalized, currently receiving iv glucose

Jungkook's heart drops as he immediately rushes to the hospital

A talk with the doctor and Jungkook comes to know about Jimin's overeating and over sleep during stress, his insecurities due to Jungkook's statement and his starvation that lead to hypoglycemia

Jungkook sits down next to Jimin. The boy was sleeping

Jungkook holds the boy's hand in his palms and kisses it softly

"I didn't mean anything I said before... you were never fat... I just took out my stress on you..." Jungkook sighs, a tear falls onto the boy's hand "...why didn't you tell me your problems? I always share the stress of my work with you... why didn't you do the same... how will I know what you are going through if you don't let me know anything..." Jungkook's tears kept falling " ..I don't want to lose you... I love you so so much... and I'm so sorry that I am the reason why you are here..." Jungkook's voice cracks as his eyes fill up again "...please forgive me..."

"It's not your fault..." Jimin states making Jungkook look at him

"You are awake? Are you okay baby? Should I call the doctor?"

Jimin smiles at the concern

"No.. I was already awake a long time ago... I was just resting when you came in... I felt guilty, that's why I pretended to be asleep... I'm sorry Jungkook ah... I know you didn't mean anything you said... and you had the right to say that, that day... I know you thought you lost me that day - I know the feeling too well - when my dad suffered a heart attack and collapsed, he was behind locked doors and wasn't responding to my knocks... I know what I felt at that moment... so I understand what you might have gone through as well... you said things out of concern and I get it..." Jimin wipes the man's eyes "...please stop blaming yourself..."

"Still... I'm sorry for saying that... I shouldn't have... it wasn't true at all.. you are perfect for me and I made you feel insecure... that was not right of me ..." Jungkook's voice goes down to a whisper "....I could have lost you...I would never forgive myself if I did..."

"Okay stop!" Jimin says feeling overwhelmed as well at the thought of being gone, leaving Jungkook all alone. Jimin wasn't ready for that, neither was Jungkook "... please let's forget all this and start all over again... please..." Jimin begs holding Jungkook's hand

"Of course... I love you so much Jimin... please don't ever hide anything from me... please tell me so I can help you... I love you... please remember that .."

Jimin smiles, his eyes disappearing in that beautiful eye smile that has always gotten Jungkook mesmerized " ...I love you too" Jimin says, sitting up to pull the man into a sweet kiss
