1. First Meeting
A/N: In these one shots, Will and Nick are ordinary people, not Demigods. The gods/goddesses are normal too.
Nico POV
I looked around my room as TØP music pounded in my ears. 'Where was it?! Where was my stupid phone?'
I looked under my bed, in my dresser and on my fluffy black rug. Nothing. I sighed. I needed to be at The Apollo Diner in less than 20 minutes to meet Hazel.
I jogged down the stairs to find my dad typing up something in the kitchen.
"Daddddd, I can't find my phone!" I whine like a three year old, causing him to look up at me with his thick framed reading glasses off. He gives my body one quick glance and sighs.
"Did you ever think to check your jeans pocket or follow the cord of your headphones?"
"My jeans pocket..." Instinctively, I patted my pockets to check. Sure enough, there was a square, phone-shaped lump in my pocket and I pulled it out to confirm it. There it was, the phone that I'd been looking for.
"Heh heh... Right..." I chuckle sheepishly and thank him, rushing away to put on my sneakers. "Bye Dad, love ya!" I call out from behind my back.
"Ok, have fun! Remember the curfew!" He calls back. I crack the faintest smile. The last part is a joke, since I have no curfew. For some reason, I love the dark. I feel comfortable there, like I belong there. I always stay out late, when it's dark because there are no people out or around to judge me.
I get my keys and slip on a big black sweatshirt over my band T-shirt of Twenty Øne Piløts. As you can see, I'm quite attached to them.
Parked in the garage is my black motorcycle with skulls on it, Furious Death. I got it last year for my birthday and even though I ride it everyday, it's still in mint condition.
My eyes immediately trail to the small red heart painted on one of the handles as I get on. Somehow, by some miracle, that heart is also in mint condition as well. Hazel had insisted on painting it there so that she'd always be with me. I let her, since I didn't want to put up a fight.
I put on my helmet and started up the engine.
Before I knew it, I was riding, the wind lashing out on my face and whipping through my hair from the openings of the helmet. I allowed myself a small smile. Riding was another one of my small comforts.
When you ride, you're able to let reality whiz by and stay in your own little reality. The Apollo Diner was just up ahead, so I slowed down and got ready to park Furious Death. I already saw Hazel in the window of the perky diner. She's hard not to miss with her curly hair and dark skin.
I got off the motorcycle and walked into the Diner. When I opened the door, a little bell jingled and I frowned. 'What's up with that? It's too...cheery.' Now, I'm not exactly emo, but sometimes I act like it unintentionally.
Hazel looks up from her pile of ripped up tissues and grinned.
"Nico, you're finally here! You sure took long." She pouts.
"I'm exactly on time, you just came early Hazel." I respond, stating my facts. She simply rolls her eyes with a smile.
"Whatever bro. Let's order something." She pats the seat next to her and I sit. Hazel ushers over a waiter...
A seriously handsome one. He has blonde hair, crystal blue eyes, a blinding smile and probably a personality to match. His name tag says William.
William. I like the sound of that. I find myself checking him out from head to toe. All I have to say is 'Whoa'... Wait what?! I'm not gay... Am I?
"Ahem." Someone clears their throat and I snap out of my daze. Hazel shoots me daggers with her eyes and I gulp.
"He just asked you what you'd like to order, Nico." She says calmly and one thought immediately rushes to my head.
'You' I want to say to William, but I immediately crush that thought. "U-uhh..." I glanced at the menu on the table and picked some random things out. "I-I'd like a chocolate milkshake with large fries... Please."
He nods with a smile and his eyes linger on me for a few second to long. Heat rushes up to my cheeks and I immediately cover them with my hands. With one last glance, William is finally gone off to get our food and I sigh.
"What was..... That?!" Hazel says. She has her suggestive look on her face and I can practically see her decoding our actions.
"I don't know what you're talking about." And honestly, I don't. There's something going on inside me, something warm and fuzzy. I'd like it to leave because it feels funny.
"Nico... Do you like him?!" She exclaims. I swear, right at that moment, if you searched up glee in the dictionary, you'd see a picture of Hazel's face.
"What? That's crazy, of course I don't like him!" I deny, but that fuzzy feeling takes action, sending a blush my way.
"You totally do! Omg, I can't believe it, my brother has a crush!" She squeals and starts to giggle.
I groan and shirnk down into my oversized sweatshirt. 'Whyyyy?' I ask my self. I stay there for a while, hiding from Hazel when William comes back again.
I creep out of my sweater to take a peek at William and the food. His eyes are set on me and light up when I slowly come out. He sends a bright smile my way and I blush easily with a frown.
He winks at me and walks away from our table, humming. My eyes widen and I open my mouth slightly. 'He winked at me?!' Is all I can think.
My eyes eventually settle on the food, which is on a tray. And right there, next to my milkshake is a small slip of blue paper.
Numbers are printed neatly on the strip with the small message: Call Me.
William.
