..,..

WANDA RAN her hands over her darkhold. It had now been a week since she left Kol in the Bayou that dreadful day. She still hadn't been able to escape the same memories her mind kept replaying. Every time she closed her eyes she saw the death of a Mikaelson, over and over.

She had tried searching the memories of her alternate selves but they all gave her the same conclusion. It was as if there was no escape.

Wanda glanced at the picture she had of Kol and their twins. She had to try harder, for them.

The witch lit up a few scented candles and began to look over her spell book.

..,..

2045 Wanda stepped out from the portal and smiled contently as she realized where she was. New Orleans of year 2026. She forgot how vibrant the city once was, in her time it was a pile of abandoned streets. Then again that was her fault.

She deeply inhaled and set out to find her current self first. She walked down the French Quarter when she recognized a certain blonde. Rebekah Mikaelson.

The witch pursed her lips seeing her old friend again. Memories tried to flood their way back into the red heads mind but she shunned them out refusing to relish on the past. The Mikaelson's were dead, all thanks to her. She couldn't lose sight of what she had to accomplish.

Seeing them again will not change anything.

Wanda turned and walked away from the vampire. She made her way to the more secluded part of the city when she caught a trace of her magic. The witch slyly grinned knowing her younger self was around.

The Maximoff witch came across and abandoned loft, she creaked open the door and walked inside. Wanda noticed a protection spell placed upon the walls, no one was able to get in except herself of course.

The witch waltzed in and tilted her head as she noticed her younger self performing magic. She narrowed her eyes knowing exactly what her other self was trying to accomplish.

"What an unexpected way to meet don't you think?"

The red heads eyes snapped open and she conjured up her magic defensively but confusion took over her expression as she saw herself... before her.

"What?" her voice came out a soft whisper.

2045 Wanda chuckled, "I know, confusing and shocking. It's me, I'm you dear."

Her younger self parted her lips in confusion, "From the future?"

"Obviously."

"What are you doing here?"

Older Wanda smirked mentally, "I heard you're in deep trouble, I'm here to help." she sickly lied. Younger Wanda scrunched up her features, "How can you help?"

"I'll do anything I can to save us. Something happens to you it happens to me so I want to avoid that." what she said technically wasn't a lie, but she meant it in a different way. She couldn't let herself be saved.

2026 Wanda nodded gratefully, she needed all the help she could get.

"So, how were you planning to go about this little dilemma?"

Don't answer her

A quiet voice rang in the younger witch's ear but she brushed it away. "I had been thinking, this all happened because of my chaos magic. So what if I stripped my magic away? It's the entire reason I was able to kill most of our family and I would cease to be the Scarlet Witch meaning I would have no fate or prophecy. I would no longer place our family in danger and could live a mundane life. What we've always wanted."

2045 Wanda pursed her lips, that would work. If she found a powerful object to store her magic in and lock it away she would cease to be a witch.

"That would work, but what about our magic?"

The younger red head shrugged, "I could care less about it, it's caused me more problems then I can count. I just want to be free."

The elder witch narrowed her eyes, she would not let that happen. "As admirable as your actions and motives are, I can't let you go through with that."

2026 Wanda furrowed her brows, "What are you talking about?"

"I won't let you take away the one thing that gave us meaning. I'm sorry Wanda, but you should have just kept your head down and let time flow."

Her younger self's face went slack with realization, "Please say you aren't the me who killed Adira."

The older Maximoff shrugged, "I could lie if it would please you."

Wanda stumbled back, "How? Why? How could you kill your own daughter?"

"You shouldn't speak of things you don't know of."

"Don't know of? I saw you with her heart in your grasp that's about all I need to see the situation at hand." the younger witch scoffed.

Wanda clenched her jaw, "Enough. I didn't come here to waste time." she raised the palm of her hand and encircled her other self with her magic. 2026 Wanda attempted to free herself from the binds.

"Our source of power comes from our pain, grief, and misery. I lost everything I held dear, which makes me significantly stronger than you. Don't waste your breath."

"Why are you doing this?"

"Because power will be all we have left in the end. I won't let that get taken from me as well."

"What if you're wrong? What if we can break through this endless misery? We could be happy."

"I used to have the same mentality as you, and where did it get me? Alone, because alone is what we will always be. The quicker you accept that, well the easier it gets. The Scarlet Witch wasn't meant for happy ending. Get that through your thick skull."

"What do you get out of doing this?"

The elder witch turned to face herself with a wicked grin, "Power,"

..,..

2045 Wanda roamed the streets of New Orleans after leaving her younger self enclosed in her own magic. She had to put a stop to this disturbance.

Though, the words the witch had muttered to her ran through her mind.

"How could you kill your own daughter?"

The red head shook her head. No. She would not remember that day, she could not let her emotions consume her once more. Under no circumstances would she go back to that state of mind.

No matter how many people she had to kill to keep it that way.

Grief. It was the price one payed to love. There would always be something to lose when you had loved ones. Death. It is ever those who stay behind that suffer the most.

Wanda had replaced her emptiness with the hunger for power. It gave her something to go on, like a thread that she was desperately trying to hold on to. She would protect the thread with everything she had left in her.

All because of a promise Kol made her vow to keep.

"Promise me that if something is to ever happen to me, that you will keep going. Don't give up on life, it may be painful, but you only live once. So find something to hold onto, that gives you a reason to continue on."

So she chose strength, it may not have been the best option but it kept her going. Kept her willing to wake up in the morning.

At first she had held onto her children, kept going for them. Then the incident occurred, Wanda had killed her own daughter.

That was when her mind finally snapped, what little hope she had left died with Adira. So she fed off of power, and she planned to keep it that way.

Wanda turned around the corner and bumped into a firm chest.

"I'm sorry, you'll have to excuse me."

The witch felt time come to a stop as she heard his voice, oh his voice. Wanda lifted her gaze and met the hazel eyes that she adored with her entire being. Eight, it had been a total of eight years since she had last seen his enchanting eyes.

He looked exactly as she remembered, but with the exception that his eyes held sadness. An emotion that was there because of her.

But their bond was not there, no sparks erupted with their touch. She could not feel him mentally, because her Kol was dead. Their bond died eight years ago, when he had finally slipped away from her permanently.

Kol's eyes widened as he looked at his soulmate, "Wanda?"
