...,...
WANDA HELD a sly smirk as she propped her elbows on the kitchen counter and looked her daughter in the eyes. "So, who's got your heart in a flutter?"
Adira choked on her lemonade and looked up at her mother with wide eyes, "W-What?"
The red head rolled her eyes, "Oh come on, I'm not stupid. I can see the way you're excited to go to school now, the way your eyes light up when a notification pops up on your phone, and don't even get me started on those smiles you've been recently giving. I don't even need to use my powers to know somethings up."
"Um..."
"I just want to know who snatched my little girls heart is all. Is it a boy... or a girl?" Wanda lifted a curious brow. She knew Adira was fluid with her sexuality and obviously supported her, and Wiccan was gay, the witch couldn't be more proud of her children for being who they were.
Adira looked down at her glass as she muttered, "Neither, actually."
Wanda tilted her head as she waited for the fifteen year old girl to continue. "They're non-binary. That's what I meant."
The witch's lips parted in realization, "What's their name?"
"Aspen... We met at a coffee shop since they work there." the girl awkwardly fumbled with her hands. Wanda smiled softly, "That's so cute." she nearly squealed.
"Yeah, I really like them." a light blush creeped its way onto her cheeks. "Well, I'll let you be then, but if you want to talk to someone or need anything, I'm here." the witch smiled encouragingly before walking out the kitchen.
Wiccan walked in with his eyes glued to his switch, "Someone flustered over thinking about their partner?" his tone held amusement.
Adira clutched a butter knife and threw it directly at the boys head just for him to deflect it with his forcefield.
Wiccan chuckled lightly as the female huffed and stormed out of the room, Kol walked in with a confused expression. "Your sister just stomped up the stairs so strongly that I'm almost positive she left a hole in one of the steps."
The teenage boy shrugged, "Our family has all sorts of temperamental issues."
Kol crossed his arms, "Fair point."
"Hey kids! Uncle Nik and Hope are here!" Wanda shouted from the living room. Wiccan grinned happily as he placed his switch back into it's case. "Alright! Theme park time!"
Wanda chuckled amusingly as she watched Adira and Wiccan run out the door to meet the hybrid and tribrid at the car.
Kol walked up and slid an arm around her waist. "It's time for you to wake up love."
Wanda glanced up at the male, "What are you talking about?"
"You don't actually think this is real, do you?"
The witch looked at her surroundings before looking back at her husband, "This is real."
"You're in denial darling. Everyone knows you can't get a happy ending, that just isn't reality."
Wanda's breath quickened.
"Wake up."
"Wake up."
"Wake up."
"Wake up!"
A loud gasp echoed through the room as Wanda sat upright in her bed. Glancing around as she took in the room she was in. She slumped realizing that it was in fact a dream, and she was still stuck in this horrid existent nightmare.
All alone.
..,..
Kol didn't know how he was going to explain the situation at hand to his children. He had spent the night out searching for the witch but nothing, not even a trace of her.
The vampire rested his hand upon the front door of the Abattoir, words and explanations circled through his mind. He should have fought the witch harder, enough to make her see that letting him in was the best way, but no. She had shut him out. Wanda had taken the terrifying matter into her own hands and in doing so, leaving Kol and the twins alone once again.
Mustering up all the mental strength he had to spare, the male pushed open the door and stepped inside until he arrived in the courtyard, where three of siblings were stationed on the couch with his children before them.
Adira and Wiccan turned towards their father with a smile but faltered when they noticed their mothers absence.
"Where's mom?"
There, that simple question was all it took for the vampire to shed a tear. He felt like he had failed, failed his family, and there was no fixing this.
The twins and carefully made their way towards their father, "What happened?" Adira worriedly questioned.
Kol pursed his lips, "I'm sorry,"
"Dad?" Wiccan couldn't help the concerned look that creeped it's way into his eyes. "Your mother took matters into her own hands. I'm not sure what to do anymore."
Adira sharply inhaled, "What do you mean, matters?"
Kol glanced at his brothers and Rebekah, silently asking them to leave. He wanted to speak to the twins alone.
The Mikaelson's understood the discrete glance and scattered away from view.
"Your mother... she saw the future. The truth is now tormenting her mind and I tried to help her I did, but she shut me out." Kol explained. He felt as he was going to shred his mind into pieces from the pressure, the amount of emotions piling up inside of him. Just waiting for him to lash out.
Wiccan and Adira glanced at each other knowingly. "Did she see you die?" Adira quietly questioned.
Kol met his daughters eyes with confusion, "How did you-?"
"We're from the future dad." Wiccan chimed in. Kol looked over his twins and realization set in, "What was the reason you two time traveled?"
Adira looked down at her hands, "To stop you from dying."
Kol sharply inhaled, "So... where you two are from, I'm....?"
"Dead. Yeah." Wiccan finished his sentence.
Kol furrowed his brows, "How?"
"A witch wanted revenge on mom. She was going to kill me and Wiccan, but you jumped in front of us and took the hit." Adira winced as she remembered the events of that horrid night.
The vampire's arm went slack by his side, "Your mother?"
"Mom unleashed her magic on the witch, although she set a protective barrier around me and Wiccan to shield us from it. There wasn't much left of the witch afterwards I guess you could say."
"Mom wasn't the same since. Anytime she gets slightly angry her magic lashed out." Wiccan added to the conversation.
"I looked into her mind one day and it was horrible dad, voices constantly shouting at her that it was her fault you were dead, that she was too weak, that she would always be damned." Adira frowned.
"She lost her anchor. I helped keep her magic grounded, that's why her magic brought her to me years ago." the original said as he remembered the scene Agatha Harkness had shown them. Her magic was calling out to him.
Kol clenched his fists tightly, "I don't know what to do." his voice came out a broken whisper.
"We help her. We have to, because if we don't, she will die."
..,..
Year 2045
Wanda sat on the pale white floor with her back against the wall, the cell she was in was awfully boring.
The witch created a small sphere of magic and tossed it between her hands, playing catch. Her son thought her magic was nulled but she merely pretended that it was, it was quite easy fooling the mutant.
Wiccan approached the Scarlet Witch, "Are you going to talk now?"
Wanda didn't even spare him a glance as she stayed quiet. She set her hands down and counted stars in her head.
Although a sudden memory pierced through her mind.
"I don't know what to do."
"We help her. We have to, because if we don't, she will die."
Wanda grit her teeth, seems as if her younger children were playing hero with younger Wanda. If they successfully get through to her, the future could change. Meaning her current self wouldn't exist.
She would not allow it. Under no circumstances could she allow her children to save her, it would end up creating more damage in the end.
Wanda got up to her feet earning a confused look from nineteen year old Wiccan.
"I'm going to have to cut this little interrogation short Wiccan."
The mutant furrowed his brows, "What the hell are you talking about?"
"You can blame your younger self for this. You kids truly don't know when to give up, it is a bit admirable but a pain in my ass." Wanda sighed as her eyes flashed bloody red.
Wiccan's eyes widened, "How-?"
"Oh sweetheart, did you really think you could contain me? I am not that weak."
She lifted her hand and a beam of her power shot at the wall. Wiccan rushed over to the keypad in need of opening the cell.
Wanda smiled as a portal appeared, she glanced back at the Mikaelson who was struggling with the lock.
"I'll tell your father you said hi."
When Wiccan looked back at her, she was gone.
