...,...

AN EERIE sensation tensed its way into the atmosphere. Wanda collapsed with a gasp on the muddy ground. What was happening to her? Her hands rested upon her knees as she struggled to regain her composure.

The witch shut her eyes tightly as she attempted to purge her mind from the voices howling in her mind. She didn't understand what took her over as she had spoke those words to Kol, she winced even thinking back on it.

Why did it feel like she no longer had control over her actions?

Wanda inhaled sharply, her mind was going to be the one to drive her insane. She couldn't take it anymore, the pain, the guilt, the grief. As if a wave that kept washing over the shore and no matter how many times she attempted to stand back up, that wave came crashing in to knock her down once more.

She was tired. She was done. Why did she have to suffer this fate?

She had given up.

...,...

Kol ran his hands through his hair and he thought to himself. He had to do something, anything to pull her out of that madness. All the guilt of what he had just said washed over him, no matter how angry he was he should have never said those things to Wanda.

The younger Mikaelson male grabbed a vase and threw with against the wall, he began breathing heavily as he heard the sound of the clattering glass.

A groan was heard from behind the vampire and he turned to see his two brothers waking up from their nap.

"What the bloody hell happened?" Klaus muttered as he rose from the ground.

"It would appear as if Wanda snapped our necks." Elijah responded as he rubbed the nape of his neck.

Kol stumbled back into a wall as all the frustration he was feeling hit him, tears threatening to fall from his eyes.

His older brothers seemed to notice and carefully walked over to the original. "What happened?" Elijah gently questioned.

"I-I lashed out at her." his voice came out in a hoarse tone, "I didn't even hear her out before uttering awful things. I didn't see it before but now I do, she's fighting a battle inside her own mind," he roughly ran a hand through his hair, "Once again she needs me and all I've done is make the situation worse."

Klaus laid an encouraging hand on his younger brothers shoulder, "So then correct your mistake, help her. You know you're the only one who can get through to her."

A tear finally fell, pursing his lips tightly fighting the urge to not let any more tears fall.

"What if I make things worse?" he muttered as he clenched his fists until his knuckles were as white as paper. He wanted to help her, of course he did. But he could also worsen the matter, even if it wasn't intentional.

"If you don't do anything, then that will make things worse." Elijah commented.

Kol took a deep firm breath before closing his eyes to recompose himself. He slowly opened them again and it was if he could finally think.

"I have to find her."

...,...

Adira was kicking some rocks as she along with her cousin and brother walked home. Wind blew making the girls hair fly in all directions. Clearly annoyed, the brunette tied her hair up into a ponytail. She crossed her arms and huffed.

"I have a question." Wiccan suddenly spoke out. "What is it?" Hope glanced over at the younger male.

"So, an original can only die by a white oak stake piercing their heart right?"

Hope curiously nodded wanting to know where this conversation was headed.

"So then, what happens if a vampire or werewolf rips out their heart? Like do they just grow another heart?"

The tribrid simply blinked, "I... never thought about that."

"No one ever does! And same with the head, like what if they were decapitated, do they grow another head? Because supposedly they can't die unless it's from a white oak but I don't think they can grow a head right?" Wiccan expectantly looked at his cousin.

Hope opened her mouth to speak but immediately closed it, "Why don't you ask our uncles?"

Wiccan flared his arms, "I have! I asked Uncle Nik one day because I was obviously curious and not even he knew. He just said the situation hasn't occurred to him."

Hope tilted her head curiously, now she wanted to know the answer as well.

Adira snickered, "Don't leave out the other half of that conversation."

Wiccan nervously chuckled as he scratched the back of his neck. Hope furrowed her brows, "What other half?"

"I may or may not have asked if he wanted to find out."

This time, Adira erupted in laughter as she recalled the memory, "It was hilarious! Uncle Nik looked so scared before slowly backing away from him, he stayed at least 10 feet away from Wiccan for a week."

"I was curious." the boy frowned as he looked towards the ground. Hope lightly chuckled at her cousins, they truly were an amusing pair to hang out with.

Adira narrowed her eyes as she realized the dark clouds that were gathering up in the sky. "Seems as if it's going to rain today." Hope commented as she noticed her younger cousins gaze on the thunderclouds.

"Oh joy."

"You don't like the rain?" Hope looked over at the brunette.

"Not entirely fond of it I guess. Too many memories stirred up."

Wiccan grew bored as he started to slightly skip, "So, how does it feel for you guys to know you have a spare life?" the boy questioned wanting to start up another conversation.

Adira looked back at her brother before thinking, the mutant glanced over at the tribrid who was looking at her as well.

"I mean, doesn't feel like anything. Just because we become a vampire doesn't mean we're unable to die. Maybe not by age but considering the worlds we live in, a long immortal life doesn't seem promising for me." Adira stared off into the distance as she spoke. It was true, she lived a life where something would always threatened her life, so even if she became a vampire a immortal life wasn't promised. Not like she wanted it either way.

Wiccan pinched the girls arm, "Don't think like that! You have to think positive."

"You know I'm not wrong Wiccan. Plus, if I do live a long life I would have to watch myself outlive you. The last thing I want is to live without my twin at my side."

Wiccan frowned, suddenly all the images of Adira's dead body flashed in his mind. Wincing quietly he looked towards the ground, "Just... don't talk about you dying. Please."

Adira's lips slightly parted as she realized the worry she inflicted on her brother, the brunette wrapped her arms around the boy pulling him into a hug. "I'm sorry. I promised I wouldn't leave your side so I won't."

Wiccan tightened his grip on his sister, every time he slept the same images roamed his mind. His sisters heart beside her gray and unlively body. It was a horrid sight, one he wished that never came true.

Hope looked at the twins with a sad smile, she adored their bond as siblings. They had her wishing she had a bond like that of her own, but then again being able to simply have cousins was a gift she was grateful. So from then on, she promised to protect and care for the twins as her own younger siblings.

The twins didn't have to say anything for the tribrid to realize how much they've gone through.

They were two wicked strong twelve year old's.

...,...

Year 2044

The sound of the rain falling against the concrete echoed through the atmosphere. It was a dark day in the St. Louis Cemetery.

Eighteen year old Wiccan stifled a sob that was threatening to release. Hope bit her lip as she rested her head on the male's shoulder. The mutant rested his head against hers.

Wiccan felt empty, a piece of himself was gone. Tears began to fall and now they couldn't stop as he stared at his sister's headstone. This wasn't fair, he had lost too many people to end up losing his twin. His better half.

"Why are we cursed?" Wiccan's voice croaked. Hope sucked in a sharp breath, "It's the Mikaelson curse."

The male glanced over at his aunts grave, two Mikaelsons fell at once. The world truly did hate them.

"What's the point in living if everyone we love is gone?"

Hope sniffled as she wiped the tears that stained her cheeks, "I asked myself that question when I lost my parents. But then I remembered what I had left."

The tribrid looked over at the dirty blonde male, "We have each other, so the way I see it, we stick together and fix this mess."

Wiccan turned to face his cousin, the red head noticed the glossy look in his eyes signaling the tears that were beginning to well up.

He gave her a firm nod.

And there, there stood the last of the Mikaelson legacy.
