Chapter '17

..,..

COLD, THE ONLY word to describe the atmosphere. A breeze flew through the quiet streets of New Orleans.

Anyone who looked in from the outside could tell something wasn't right with the city. Unknown truths lied there, as well as unexplained deaths.

Wanda Maximoff was a women on a mission as she strut through the French Quarter. Her eyes held a fierce glare at anyone who looked her way.

The witch extended her hands and broke down the door to an apartment loft. Red magic encircling the hinges that were once in one piece.

"Where are my kids." were the only words that left her lips as she came face to face with Elijah Mikaelson and a worried Hayley Marshall.

"I don't know. They were said they were going to study for an exam." the original explained.

Wanda stormed passed the couple as she made her way into the room that belonged to Wiccan. The youngest twin.

The room was a mess. Blankets set as if a wind storm had passed by and destroyed everything.

The red head inspected every corner of the room, throwing things in hope of finding something, anything that would lead to her missing children.

Then, she found it. Her very own darkhold under a pile of clothes. Wanda narrowed her eyes as she kneeled down picking the grimoire up. She delicately examined the pages. Her fingers ran over the page that was left open, she clicked her tongue as she realized what had happened.

The witch walked back out the room and Niklaus had joined them in the living room.

"I heard my nephews were missing." the hybrid crossed her arms.

The Scarlet Witch raised her hand that held the darkhold. They're eyes immediately went wide with shock at seeing that book here. They knew Wanda always kept it away.

"Found this in Wiccan's room. And that's not even the worst part." the red head began to explain. "What could be worse?" Hayley questioned as she stuffed her hands into her coat pockets.

"I found a specific page left open. A time traveling spell. From the looks of it, they performed it."

Elijah furrowed his brows as he spoke up, "How? I thought they didn't have the magic for it."

"Wiccan is a bit like me. He's strong, maybe even a little too much. I had been training him to gain better control but I didn't think it would come back to bite me in the ass." Wanda stressed.

"And they time traveled for what reason?" the hybrid curiously inquired.

"My guess... they went back in time to save Kol." the witch clenched her fists.

"Well shouldn't we be thanking them then? They save my brother from being killed by a raging murderous witch and none of us have to go through grief once more." Klaus said, but he wasn't seeing the issue with all of this, not as Wanda was.

"That's not how time works. Their are always consequences to a spell. Wherever the hell they are they don't belong, the multiverse will sense an imbalance and boom reality gets fucked up again."

"Language." Elijah frowned.

"I am not in the mood Elijah so shut it." The Mikaelson widow hissed.

"So then we try and find them. Which timeline would they have gone back to?" Hayley asked.

"I have not one clue."

...,...

"Pancakes!"

"Waffles!"

"Pancakes!"

"Waffles!"

The door suddenly burst open as an annoyed Kol stood before his two children. "What the bloody hell are you two shouting about? You do know almost everyone in this house has super hearing. No need for the yelling."

"Tell Adira pancakes are better." Wiccan huffed.

"They aren't. Everyone knows waffles taste better." the young girl smiled annoying her twin even more.

"And I thought the bickering between me and Nik was bad." the vampire muttered as he rubbed his temples.

"Uncle Nik loves to annoy us." Wiccan rolled his eyes. "You mean you." Adira corrected.

"I sneak up on him once and he thought it would be funny to scare me any chance he gets!" the boy stressed.

Kol shook his head with a smile plastered on his face, "Speaking of which, you're uncle is taking you two somewhere with Hope."

"Awesome!" Adira cheered.

"Start getting ready. You're mother is practicing magic so I'll let her know." the original smiled before shutting the door closed behind himself.

Downstairs in the basement Wanda was surrounded by her inviting red magic. The red head was currently reading over some spells in her grimoire when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her mind.

The witch shook her head trying to ignore it but the pain became stronger. Wanda furrowed her brows as she placed two fingers on her temple.

She closed her eyes without of thinking anything of it. The red head suddenly felt herself getting pushed. She opened her eyes once more and realized she wasn't in the basement anymore.

Wanda turned looking around and taking in her surroundings. She was in the French Quarter, but how did she get there? But it was dark gloomy, the city was run down as if it had been attacked. Buildings weren't even being held together anymore, debris everywhere and the sky was wasn't it's beautiful bright blue anymore.

The witch heard a familiar voice at a far distance.

"Run Adira!"

Wanda's eyes widened, it was Rebekah's. She squinted her eyes to see the blonde running, and her daughter was with the vampire. But Adira looked older, more mature. She definitely wasn't twelve anymore.

The Maximoff tried to move but it was as if her feet were glued to the ground. She could softly hear the two speaking.

"Go. I will stall her." Rebekah told her neice.

"What? No, I'm not leaving you here auntie Bex." the mutant girl refused.

"Go! She isn't in her right state of mind, I will try to calm her down."

"No, she sees us as the enemy. She will kill you." Adira argued.

The blonde softly smiled, "Trust me-"

But it was too late, Rebekah gasped. Adira watched fearfully as the original began to turn grey.

"No!"

The blonde started to fade into ashes and her figure faded away from Adira's presence. The seventeen year old girl looked in shock, she was gone. Her aunt was here just a minute ago and now... she wasn't.

Her lip started to quiver in fear as she grasped the necklace her mother had gifted to her.

Wanda covered her mouth in shock. The Mikaelson had been murdered. The red head looked closely trying to get a better view of the one responsible for her death.

But what she saw shook her. She noticed blood red eyes that not even the fog could hide. No, the witch now had a perfect view when she saw herself approach Adira.

Wanda didn't even recognize herself. She held a wicked smile one that only a murderer had and her eyes, they held anger, hatred but why? And it was all aimed at Adira, such hatred for her own child.

"Mom. Please. Snap out of it!" were the last words heard.

Wanda gasped as she felt a force yank her from the scene. She opened her eyes and realized she was back in the basement where she originally was.

The witch stumbled away from the desk and placed her hand over her chest as her breathing began to quicken.

What had she just seen? Now the red head was completely oblivious to the fact that indeed was her future. Little Wanda had finally gone off the deep end.

The basement door opened and Wanda slightly jumped.

"Hey, everything alright?" Kol questioned, he had heard some ruckus so came down to check on his fiance.

Wanda plastered on a smile and turned towards him.

"Yeah, everything's just great."
