WANDA GRUNTED as she tried to move. "I must say it's lovely to finally meet you." Agatha smiled.
"Let them go." Wanda grit through her teeth.
"I think not." the witch said.
Wanda tried to use her powers but nothing happened. Kol looked very worried.
"Oh, your magics no good here." Agatha said as she noticed the girl trying to summon her powers.
Wanda furrowed her brows, why did this keep happening?
"Didn't you notice? Basic protection spell on each wall?"
Wanda started to look around and saw symbols casted by magic placed.
Klaus was struggling and trying to free himself, Wanda needed help.
"No? Nothing? These are runes, Wanda. In a given space, only the witch that cast the runes can use her magic. How do you not know the fundamentals?" Agatha sighed.
"Who are you? Because I know you are nothing like that woman I met." Wanda questioned.
"It's called playing a role dear, I'm sure you'd know all about it." Agatha said as she walked closer to the Maximoff girl.
"Get the bloody hell away from her." Kol grunted.
Agatha spared him a look, "Protective are we now? Ah young love, such a waste really." the witch spoke.
"What do you want?" Wanda asked.
Agatha turned towards her, "I've been waiting for you to reveal your true self but honey you are one stubborn person. Until finally I had to take matters into my own hands."
"Get me out of this blasted magic so I can give that witch a piece of my mind." Klaus muttered, completely angered.
"You will only make a mess of this Niklaus, we are now dealing with someone that only Wanda can handle, we will wait for the girl to tell us what to do but for now there's not much we can do." Elijah told his younger brother even if he hated the thought of staying still while Wanda was being interrogated.
"How did you cast one powerful spell? The amount of magic it produced caught my attention, it was astounding. Such a spell to open an entire portal to a different universe I mean not even a sorcerer supreme could accomplish that without any training." Agatha said with a bright smile.
"I don't- what?" Wanda was confused about what the witch was talking about.
"That's what drew me here, it took years and years for me to even attempt to open a portal but how you did it? Without anything needed to be done."
"What's your secret, sister? Listen, I need you... Hey, Wanda, I need you to tell me how you did this." Agatha told the confused witch.
"I didn't do anything. I'm not..." Wanda panted, shaking her head.
"I tried to be gentle, try and get you to finally reveal it, but it looks as if I'll have to do that myself." Agatha sighed.
Kol looked at Wanda with worried eyes.
Agatha looked the redhead in the eyes, "You really don't know what you did, do you?" she asked.
"Well looks as if your mind has been playing tricks on you my dear, who opened that portal when you first arrived here, Wanda?" Agatha asked her.
"I-I don't know, it suddenly opened before me." Wanda answered.
Agatha's eyes widened slightly, "Dear god you really don't know. Honey a portal that strong doesn't open out of nowhere, you opened that portal." she told her.
Wanda sharply inhaled, "No-no, I didn't I would have remembered."
"Oh Wanda, seems as if your mind is making you remember one thing that isn't what happened." Agatha sighed.
Wanda looked at the ground, thoughts running through her mind. She has to be lying.
"Now what are those feelings I heard, let me recall them." Agatha said as she thought.
Kol watched Wanda shake her head and was breathing heavily, the girl locked eyes with him. The vampire hated not being able to do anything, especially when she needed him.
"Ah, of course. You felt empty, alone, endless nothingness. Let's start there, I'm going to find out how you came to be." Agatha smiled then started chanting something in latin.
"Let's take a trip down memory lane." The witch said.
"No" Wanda said.
"Oh I'm sorry, did you forget who had your family under magic?" Agatha said as she started compressing the Mikaelson's that were enveloped in her magic.
"Stop, stop." Wanda pleaded.
"Why don't we have your family watch your memories as well, huh?" Agatha smirked.
"Where's Freya?" Wanda questioned, worried about her.
"She's elsewhere with her magic compressed with handcuffs I think their called, not to worry she's alive for now, on to your memories."
Wanda looked completely torn and it was angering the Mikaelson's, "We're being used as leverage." Rebekah sadly said, she couldn't stand seeing Wanda so lost.
"That witch better hope I don't get out of this." Klaus grunted.
Suddenly the whole room looked like the were inside a tiny apartment.
"Charming. Love the Cold War aesthetic. Why are we here?" Agatha asked as she looked around.
The Mikaelson's watched Wanda's expression widen.
"Mama" the young girl breathed.
Klaus widened his eyes also seeing the mother.
Wanda watched with a saddened expression as her father walked in the room.
"Papa!" young Pietro shouted with a smile.
"Pietro.." Wanda said and Elijah's eyes widened remembering the brother Wanda said had been killed.
"Oh he's loud, isn't he?" Agatha spoke.
The Mikealson's watched as the younger version of Wanda talked with her family and picked out a movie to watch as they ate. Suddenly gunfires were heard, shouting. Then it happened, the explosion.
Wanda flinched and Kol clenched his fists, she shouldn't have to relive this just because of some witch.
Young Wanda and Pietro were under a bed as they saw their entire house completely destroyed, young Wanda caught sight of another bomb and kept her eyes on it until it suddenly stopped flashing.
Agatha watched with interest, "Did you stop that bomb?" she asked the girl.
"What?" Wanda said, breathing shakily.
"You used a probability hex." Agatha told her.
"No, I... It just never went off. It was... It was defective. We didn't know that. We were... We were trapped." Wanda panted.
"For how long?"
"Two days." she answered.
"Huh, so much trauma." Agatha said.
Hayley imagined how much it must have hurt Wanda, this was not something the young girl would want to rewatch.
Suddenly a familiar door appeared before Wanda.
"You were safe as kittens the whole time. So, what I see here is a baby witch, obsessed with sitcoms and years of therapy ahead of her. Where'd you get the big guns, Wanda?" Agatha asked her.
"I don't wanna go back there." Wanda heavily breathed.
Klaus hated seeing this, Wanda didn't deserve it.
"I know you don't, but it's good medicine, angel. The only way forward is back." Agatha said as the door unlocked.
"Ah, Wanda. The rebellious years. Quick question, your reaction to the bombing of your civilian apartment building and the murder of your parents was to join an anti-freedom terrorist organization." the witch sarcastically asked.
"We wanted to change the world."
"Don't be scared. You already lived it once." Agatha told her making Rebekah want to rip the witch's heart out.
"Wanda Maximoff. Volunteer. Begin experimentation." A scientist spoke.
"Doctor, with respect, not one subject has survived direct..." a man said but was cut off.
Kol watched with weary eyes, younger Wanda looked tired and empty.
"So I... I just.."
The scepter started rattling and humming, Wanda suddenly fell unconscious.
"She's still alive. Get her to isolation now."
The memory changed into the cell Wanda was kept in, "So, little orphan Wanda got up close and personal with an Infinity Stone that amplified what, otherwise, would've died on the vine. The broken pieces of you are adding up, buttercup. I have a theory, but I need more." Agatha said as another door unlocked.
"Oh, Wanda. Movin' on up. So, where are we now?"
"The Avengers compound. Pietro was dead and I was in a new country. I was all alone." Wanda said as she watched.
Elijah was upset, she was alone for so long and the what was left of her family was killed. He now realized why she was overjoyed when they took her in as their own Mikaelson. She had no one.
"Wanda, I don't presume to know what you're feeling, but I would like to know. Should you wish to tell me. Should that be of some comfort to you." Vision told her.
"What makes you think that talking about it would bring me comfort?" Wanda questioned.
"Oh, see, I read that the..." Vision trailed off.
"The only thing that would bring me comfort is seeing him again."
"Sorry" Vision whispered.
"I'm... I'm so tired." Wanda inhaled sharply "It's... It's just like this wave washing over me, again and again. It knocks me down, and when I try to stand up, it just comes for me again. And I... It's just gonna drown me."
"No. No, it won't."
"Yeah? How do you know?" Wanda asked the synthezoid.
"Well, because it can't all be sorrow, can it? I've always been alone, so I don't feel the lack. It's all I've ever known. I've never experienced loss because I have never had a loved one to lose. But what is grief, if not love persevering?" Vision laughed, "Pardon"
Wanda chuckled, "No, it was funny."
Agatha thought deeply.
Kol wished he could have been some sort of comfort for her when she lost her brother.
"So to recap, parents dead, brother dead." Agatha sighed.
"What happened when you were tired of being lonely Wanda?"
"I can't do this anymore." Wanda panted.
"Come on, Wanda! You're on the precipice. You are right there! Tell me how you did it. You needed someone, someone who could pull you back from the darkness, someone you loved." Agatha told her hoping it would unlock the memory.
"Someone I loved." Wanda breathed, she started walking and the memory faded, to the day in the woods where it all started.
Wanda walked out of the Avengers compound, the whisper of voices sounding like a static radio.
The girl got to the woods and clutched her head, "I can't do it anymore, I'm tired." she broke down.
Wanda looked with wide eyes, this wasn't how she remembered that day.
"We need him Wanda." voices whispered.
Wanda collapsed on her knees with tears streaming down her face, she couldn't control it anymore.
"You will destroy yourself without him."
"Let us take you to him."
"Give in."
"It is the only way."
"Give in!"
Wanda screamed and released her magic, the red chaos energy going into the atmosphere creating a wide black hole. The young girl stood up and looked confused, but nonetheless she walked right into it.
The entire memory faded and Wanda was back in the tomb. Klaus was shocked by that he had seen, she had gone through all of that alone. That suddenly made him more protective of her.
Agatha slowly clapped.
"Congratulations Wanda, you figured out what happened that day." the witch smiled.
Wanda looked torn.
"You have no idea how dangerous you are, do you?" Agatha asked as her smile dropped.
"What are you talking about?" Wanda breathed.
"You're supposed to be a myth. A being capable of spontaneous creation, and here you are, using it for your own selfish reasons." Agatha said.
"What?"
"This is chaos magic Wanda."
"And that makes you, the Scarlet Witch."
