Chapter 4
"I challenge you to a 1 on 1."
Kagami declaimed, inviting Mizushima to a duel.

"Bakagami, don't be so hot-headed-" The coach Riko Aida started but Mizushima interrupted,
"Sure, I have no objection." The girl chuckled, her pink red orbs glinting with amusement. "Just don't lose your spirit..." She warned, her smile disappearing into a straight emotionless face.
Mizushima Ai pulled her hood back over her eyes again but Kagami stopped her. "I want you to play me with all you've got." The fiery red -head who hates people who goes easy on their opponents interjected.
Mizushima took the hoodie off in one swift motion, uncovering an all black sports outfit underneath and raised one of her delicate eyebrows in question. "Are you sure, Taiga-chan? You will regret this afterwards. I don't think you can handle me even when my power is restrained." She stated heartlessly.
Displeased, Kagami scowled. "What's with the nickname?" he tried to shrug the comment of him being weak off seeing she was a girl but couldn't help and grumbled, "Don't be so full of yourself."
Mizushima smiled and shook her head with her hands on her hips but said nothing in turn.

"Tip-off!" Riko shouted.
"You want to see me play at my full strength right?"
Kagami nodded.
Pheeeewwwww
The ball disappeared into Mizushima's hands and before she landed on the floor, she vanished once more only this time, instead of zigzagging in blurry lines, she moved in slow motion but the ball along with her seemed to be everywhere on court at the same time, sometimes high sometimes low...
"One... hallucination..." Her voice echoed in Kagami's head, murmuring the same words over and over again but for those watching, nothing was heard. It drained his energy to keep up with this 'ghost' floating all over the place. Suddenly, the orange attached to her hand that was following her shadow but moving at a rather rapid speed disappeared. "Mizushima(s)" on the court stopped drifting about and landed in front of him, her arm stretched out in a follow through pose after shooting.
It was on the three point line... Out of a basketball player's instinct, Kagami looked up and saw the ball spinning in a perfect high arc into the basket. Three points to Mizushima.
Kagami froze, deprived of speech. His eyes were wide and his jaw hang open.
"Do you still want to face me at my full strength?" Mizushima questioned with a blank face as if that 'hallucination' was no big deal at all. Compared to Kagami, who was already drenched in sweat, only a few beads could be seen hanging on her forehead.
"Yes." Kagami shook himself out of daze and replied in a determined voice.
Mizushima let out a pleased smile. "Two, telekinesis." She told Kagami as she got ready for defence. Kagami dribbled towards her, crossover, crossover again between the legs, and as he was about to dash out and lose Mizushima, the ball disappeared under the hand he was using to dribble the ball. A smiling Mizushima appeared behind him, on the free throw line.
"I told you, two, telekinesis: the ability to move things through mind power." She shot and scored once more, leaving an awe-struck Kagami behind her. "How is that possible? There's no supernatural powers in this world!" Kagami cried out loud being the idiot he is.
"There isn't. I can detect when your mind is the most unfocused. That's why telekinesis."
It continued on like that for several times afterwards, every single time, it was as if a magnet was attached to Mizushima's hands because the basketball always magically goes towards her as if she was the centre of the magnetic field.
The point difference was huge, a 42 to 0.
"I'm done for today," Mizushima stopped in her tracks as she got ready for a shooting pose. "Three, teleportation/ apportation. but I'm too tired today." She yawned. "Those three combined forms my mirage style, a style Tet-chan and I came up with."
"But I changed the name, it's now called "fantasy", a more girlish hinge to it?" The girl tilted backwards to meet Kuroko's eye, smiling gently, pleased with her overwhelming victory.
"Good game." Mizushima said to Kagami before vanishing before him and reappearing at the door, with her hoodie already back on. She waved, but her eyes stayed the usual distant ones and molded into the dark night. Kagami stared at the direction she disappeared too, too lost in his thoughts.
Some time later, you could hear banging and screaming in Seirin High's sports hall, all the commotion caused by one person, Kagami.
"How?! WHY???! HOLY!" He screeched, banging his head onto a wall. Kuroko tried to calm his partner down but this time, he seemed to have already lost his mind.

10pm: Kagami Taiga used up all his energy therefore fainted on the spot and being his good ol' partner, Kuroko had to carry him back to his house by himself. Though he might have just left him on the street while he went to get himself his all time favorite vanilla milkshake.
