chapter=3 What's wrong with him?(edited)

"You cannot be successful or happy in another person until you have developed the habit of focusing on the positive rather than the negative. Happiness begins with you."

"Your mistakes are a part of your past and who you were when you made them; you cannot change or erase them."

Aisha.
As of right now, Ahad has informed us that he wants to take Yumna somewhere, but we do not know what plan the elders have agreed upon. I suppose this is because there are only a few days left before their wedding. He simply stated that they will be within their limits and that they know that if people are not watching, then Allah is. Since Yumna has to be at home going forward, Ahad has blindfolded her, and we have no idea what was going through his mind when he came and asked permission after they came to us.

We were just hanging out when I told everyone I would be bringing desserts, so I went to the kitchen to get bowls ready. They went, and even his friends went because Ahad had to drop them off.

It is a big house, Masha'Allah. We had already prepared, so I went to the kitchen, and since we had already taken everything out of the freezer and placed it in bowls, I decided to add more if anyone wanted more.

Just as I was about to add the third bowl, I noticed a familiar figure sitting in a sitting room, massaging his head with one elbow resting on the couch and the other sitting on the coach.

"What is the issue with him?"I could not help but stare at him, wondering if he was in pain because that is how he appeared. I really hope he is okay and not in pain.

"Should I leave or stay put and observe?"I told myself that I could not just stand there and do nothing because I saw him attempting to stand up but failing miserably.

Since they were only elders, I quickly took dessert outside, served them, and then quickly excused myself to return inside.

My mother nodded when I told them I would get dessert for Imran, so when I went back inside, I noticed him trying to unwind by closing his eyes and placing his hands on his head.

"I was incredibly anxious to ask him anything at all. What if he loses it and becomes enraged?" Ya Allah, what should I do? Though the story here was different, it is possible that he chose to sit back and relax because he did not want anyone to find out and his friends had left.

I said, standing a little away but keeping an eye on him to make sure he was okay. "Imran...mhhhh...your dessert,"

He tried to control himself, not even looking at me, but said, "Just keep it here and go."

"Are you alright?" I could not take back the words that had just come out of my mouth when he suddenly snapped his head up and stared at me blankly.

"Just go; you came here to give dessert, not to question me," With a wave of his hand, he looked down and dismissed me.

I gently advised him, "Just take this pill; maybe you will feel better. Then you can have dessert." Then, in the hopes that the painkiller would lessen his headache, I went to take one. Was he trying to hide something, or is it just a headache?

"Imran, take these pills and you might feel better," I said, setting down some water and some medication on the table next to him.

At this point, I was quite concerned.

I am not sure why I was unable to leave at that point. Should I call someone, and what if he declines?

I told him, hoping he would understand since I was sure he did not want anyone to know, "If you do not take these painkillers then I will call everyone then let them handle you and then you will have to go for check up and everyone will find out you are sick."

"As I took some painkillers and water, he told me not to do that because I do not want everyone to worry about me."

He does have a soft side, so I appreciate you taking medication.

He is not even able to express gratitude.

"Thank you," He said this as he stood up, grabbed his coat, and left me dumbfounded. At one point, he was acting haughty and rude, but then he returned to the coach and relaxed. Sometimes he just overworks.

He never left the house without his laptop and coat.

***********
The viewpoint of Halima, Yumna and Imran's aunt:
"Why is Aisha taking so long?"Since Aisha had excused herself but had not returned, I asked Aisha's mother about our children while Imran went earlier to work on some of his meeting-related paperwork.

As the men delighted in their conversation about football, Ahad's mother joined us, and we both looked at each other in wonder.

I need to do something but later.
********
Aisha's mom: Let's go and call them

"All of us?"They said yes when I asked, and I noticed that Aisha's mother was a little lost in thought. Perhaps she knows something, but when Ahad's mother called, she looked at us, smiled, and mouthed the words "I will tell you later."

We were taken aback by what we saw as soon as we walked inside the house.

We stayed there, gazing at the scene, for almost five minutes. I know it is wrong, but what if we try something and see if it works? Perhaps this is Allah's plan, and HE sent us here because, in the alternative, someone else would have arrived instead of us.

Considering our plan, do I really want Imran to be happy?

Aisha's mother told me and Ahad's mother something that made our work easier, and the three of us just smiled. Imran was taking medication and told her thank you while he tried his best to avert his gaze.

They need me I should back off from the plan.

Almighty, I pray, if you have planned for aunts to play matchmaker, then please make it happen. Imran has experienced a lot, some of which have been brought on by my husband and my mistakes. Imran and Aisha deserve the best, and handling everything at such a young age is difficult.

The three of us kept grinning, so I chose to simply let them know we were here to observe their response.
*****
Have you seen my phone, Aisha? I approached them and asked as though I had just entered the room, and the two women left.

"Ya Allah aunty you scared me," Aisha exclaimed as she leaped from where she was standing and touched her heart. She spoke as though she was truly afraid, touching her heart.

"I apologize; I did not realize you two were here." I sat down next to them and pretended not to see anything.

Aisha came and sat beside me, saying, "I was just coming," while Imran was already seated.

Imran chose to stand up for Aisha, saying, "Yah aunty she was just going," and they both turned their heads away.

I did not stop staring at Imran and then Aisha until she told me to follow them outside, to which Imran replied he would.

While going I thought.......

I know what you want and that you have feelings for her, but no matter how much you two—especially Imran—hide, you act like you do not care about her. Now that I have arrived, wait and see what these three of your aunts do.

Prepare yourself, sweetheart, for what is about to happen when your aunts snoop around and overhear your conversations.
