Max

"It's Hella creepy that you sit outside my window waiting for me to come home." Jaden said as he opened the window.

Max couldn't disagree. Wade had obviously rubbed off on her more then she'd ever anticipated.

'Find them yet?' She mentally asked her friend as she stepped in as she was invited into the room.

"At this point I think that should be one of the last of your concerns." She pointed out, shitting the window behind her.

Yes.

The answer was unsettlingly simple. The other shifter was quite fond of going into detail but she knew she had to keep her promise to him and stay here for the minimum of time allowed. She would much rather be doing anything else right now but she didn't have a choice as Vaughn had the information she needed and she couldn't force it out of him. She'd need to please the younger to get it.

"Maybe." Her soulmate responded, eyeing her as she glanced around. She noticed he had a few odd seasons of Stargate, the old Star Trek, Bones. Odd selection of choice series to own when the Other owner nothing else suggesting he was into science or the fiction of it. There were a few anime posters of things she wasn't sure of and grossly matched Decor. Red walls and purple bedding? God she hoped he hadn't selected those himself. That Or she hopped he was color blind. Maybe he couldn't see color at all? No. No he'd mentioned the color of her eyes before...damnit.

"It's a little messy. I'm not used to having people just show up. Especially when I've never given them my address." He said making no show of trying to hide his dirty cloths scattered on the floor as he sat down on his bed.

"I'm an assassin. You won't ever be able to hide anything from me for long. Most of all you'll never be able to lie. See, I'm no Black Widow, I can't always see you lying but I can smell it because I'm not human. That's the red flags I'll kindly give you early I'm in this relationship in case you have no interest in continuing it." Max said matter of fact. She herself didn't want to waste time on a mate that would promise disappointment and she was sure he would think the same, one way or another. Might as well give him the facts strait up.

"Oh?" Was his only response as he gave the Xbox across the room a disturbed look.

This was weird. It was wrong. He wasn't living up to her expectations and he was young. The age wasn't a huge issue for her, the subject not being something that mattered in her kind. Instead abilities where what judged a male of his worthiness of her time and Jaden had potential though he was.. well he was no Spider-Man. He might be in sports but that wasn't impressive to her. A male needed to impress and he was doing poorly, though Max needed to also remember that none of these things that mattered to her mattered to him and she had to look at this at a humans point of view too. He was more focused on the relationship as an acquaintance. His mind wasn't set to automatically jump to courting and potentially appealing attributes she may have to offer.

But with that also in mind he was also a young person with a Libido she could possibly push at to get a reaction from him. Dirty work but if she was determined it was an option.

...But obviously her intent wasn't to immediately mate but pressing him would prove to her his nature and true character. That, and it was something she'd have to approach at an angle to not look set up.

Max didn't notice the way Jaden was watching her as she fell victim to an expression of deep consolidation until he verbalized his own thoughts.

"What are you thinking?" Jaden asked. Her expression was concerning. He wasn't sure if she was just pondering or thinking of a way to kill him as she watched him closely with dark eyes.

She fought back an amused sound, allowing a smile to fall through at the ironic question. She obviously want going to state her true thoughts. She didn't want him to think of her in such a manner that she only cared about the sex. She did obviously. But to her it wasn't just sex. It was survival, a reason to keep oneself safe. There where offspring and love in the future of the act. She didn't want to giver her children the short end of the stick ant that would start at choosing the right mate. Even if he wasn't per-say ready for any of this, she wouldn't stop her investigating. It would just give her more time to learn and understand him until the day he was ready and choose to confront the subject with her. It would be then when she would be able to give him a last analysis. Care was what he would need to prove time and time again if he had a chance of being accepted for such a role within her life. She wouldn't be able to slack off none either.

"Are You color blind?" She asked with a pitting smile that Wade would kill her over if she ever gazed at him in such a way.

Jaden looked at her with a surprised look before glancing down at his bedding. Yeah, he knew what she was talking about.

"I was hopping you would be actually." He chuckled softly. "They were the only clean things I could find. My last ones had to be thrown away. Practically see though and had had them since middle school. My old ones I mean. The colors never really bothered me, but now that you're here I guess I can see the clash." He said looking at the tan floor.

"If it makes you feel any better I am in a way color blind. But that just depends on how you look at it." She smiled.

"Oh very clever. I see what you did there... so if your an assassin, how can you be color blind? Doesn't that make it harder?"

"No. I'm not human you see. I'm able to see in both color and black and white. Even have the ability to shift to UV if I have to. I use what ever suits my needs most." She answered. She hadn't moved from her spot where she stood in the center of the room facing the other. She didn't want to move further without being invited.

"How is it possible to switch from color to none?"

"I don't really know. It just sort of happens. Like a camera I guess. How it'll blur what ever it's not focusing on." She said. She couldn't use eye sight as an example as she was unaware human eyesight worked the same way as a camera.

"So it just happens. Like when your looking?"

"Pretty much."
