~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What was it that Wade was talking about? Was he able to do anything for the Mercenary?
Peter looked at the way Wade was carefully holding the child a while after the odd conversation earlier. Peter could almost envy the amount of care he was using with the child. Of course Wade was always just as caring with him but that didn't mean Peter liked to share. Though by instinct he knew this was okay. His mate wouldn't be detoured from him because of the child. Children were good. They meant survival and and represented a good pairing. A gift in their own way even if some parents might periodically disagree during the teen aged years.
Peter smiled at the idea. Of having to deal with a kid as ornery and smart as himself... then of course he was only speaking for one of his personas. Peter Parker was quiet and listened for the most part. Which qualities would he rather have passed to his own offspring? The brave characteristics of Spider-Man that had more than once almost gotten himself killed? Or the calm and introvert image of his high school self?
Dear lord what if the child talked as much as both his parents combined? Peter could already feel sorry for future teachers. Peter smiled at the image of combined characteristics of his own and Wade's child.
And then it slowly fell away as he realized that they wouldn't ever have one. Of course they could adopt. That wasn't the issue at mind. They aren't qualified to be the guardians of a pure life. Wade could, but Peter would never trust himself. He might hurt them. He could mistake them as prey. He might accidentally use his superior strength by accident as he sometimes did despite being far used to it after five, almost six years.
He looks back at Wade who had set himself and Grey to sit in the floor as he started to explain the rules to a game that somehow involved their poor cat and a wooden clothes pin.
The other supposed shifter had left a while ago, the young man seeming to completely fall in on himself in the presence of the couple. Peter isn't sure why. Whether it be that the guy was uncomfortable with the idea of the same gender soulmates or the fact that they both could easily kill him, Peter also didn't really care in all honesty. The arachnid just wasn't aware that quite the opposite was true and the mystic being had an interest in him and just wasn't looking to have some confrontation about the crush with Wade.
Max
"I need an update on the child's health and burns."
"Kinda busy right now." Max says in frustration as she twists away from the oddly glowing stick.... okay so it's supposed to be a sword apparently but it's, it's a stick. A long, red glowing metal shaft spewing smoke that honestly looked like some sort of word incense though it smelled of burning rubber.
"We need an update immediately." The medic says as she cuts through the communication in the ear piece.
"Well you know what? You can suck my-" the shifter bends over backwards as the stick is aimed to attempt and separate her shoulders from the rest of her body. She caries put the movement by supporting her weight with her arms as she swings her legs to flip over with a perfect landing before powerfully throwing the blade into the enemy's head before twisting around to snap one behind her with her elbow. The stranger's body fall limply to the ground in a haze of unconsciousness.
She runs forward, ignoring the three left behind her as she looses them quickly.
"Agent. I must be informed of the condition and acceleration his healing."
Max in turn takes out the ear piece and effectively crushes it as she moves on from the scene. The fellows behind her having split, many having given up on perusing the Assassin.
She needs to get into the facility to retrieve stolen files. As always it seems that's what they send her to do when she isn't assassinating. You'd think they could, this day and age, have a higher security or fire wall and be able to protect such things. Of course that's not the case here.
The full weight if a body colliding with the light shifter stops her dead in her path. They role on the dusty ground before coming to a stop. Yeah Assassin was already getting up to her feet, ignoring the small scrapes and lacerations on her skin as they start to heal at a pace in a median between the well known Merceanry's and Arachnids.
She curses when the same person moves almost as quickly to knock her off her feet again. Despite her strength like Peter she failed in being able to hold her ground due to the fact she was built to fly. (Peter wasn't but they both weigh significantly less then many.) Sadly that characteristic could mean a temporary and brutal ending to the assassin.
