Max
(For Reader's Sake the dialogue below is spoken in Norwegian by characters but written english for you until part way through some is actual English.)
"What's your name?" Max asks the child as she sits next to him. The morning yet too early for the hybrid or mutant to feel it worthy enough to get up. Though she could hear that one lay partially awake in the main part of the apartment.
"I don't have one." The child answers quietly not making eye contact, rather looking out the window then at his new guardian.
The assassin turns to look out the single window in the room too. The sight of the light from the sun shining past the many buildings but not yet risen urging her to wonder if the child was in habit of being woken at this time due to his last surroundings or if like the dragon he naturally woke with the sun. "Do you want one?"
Green eyes trace the small lines between the wooden floorboards before looking over at Max. "What kind?"
The other frowns for a second. 'What exactly does he mean by what kind?' She silently asks, catching herself from expecting an answer despite the period of time she's gone without the assistance of her friend. "Any kind." She answers,
He's quiet for a long time, huddled in his new blankets and those he had stolen from her. The assassin smiles softly as she recalls walking in to see that the smaller had willingly climbed into her bed seeming to find nothing unusual with the idea of how she organized soft pillows and her own blankets as he naturally seemed to know how to protect himself from the cool air with the small display. THough Max isn't sure how to respond. Her mother said that the child isn't a capable of maintaining a second form causing the pure bred to wonder if the child's instincts are still present or not. She doesn't know if she should Respond as she would naturally if she were to adopt another's hatchling or if he wasn't bothered with the instinct of acceptance. She didn't want to confuse the child if he did understand and began to wonder why she wasn't accepting him.
"Can't you just give me one?" He asks looking up at her, anxiety flooding off of the smaller as he speaks in the native tongue Max's breed. She momentarily wonders if perhaps the child is also a NightStar.
"He could be a decedent from Silver Moon, or possibly be a Shade-Light. Give him a name worthy of being a human or dragon." Vaughn says next to Max.
The child glances in the direction Max looks to stare at the younger blonde sitting next to her with his elbows on his knees and head in his palms like he had been sitting there the whole conversation.
"Are you actually here?" She asks after a second before reaching out to touch his arm, not trusting herself that she wasn't hallucinating it. When the other is nudged over slightly from the small shove Max's energy changes instantly in that of an excitement rarely seen from the professional killer as she tugs the other dragon into a tight hug.
"Hei." He greets the child over her shoulder as thankfully she doesn't squeeze the air out of the blonde's lungs.
The child doesn't say anything back as he gives the new stranger a very disturbed look from his spot, scooting away a few centimeters.
"How are you here?" Max asks pulling away to look up at him with brightly lit eyes, holding his arms like somehow he'd disappear if she let go.
"I don't think that really matters," He says looking at her with a soft almost shy smile. Something she hadn't seen for far too long. before diverting his attention back to the youngling on the other side of Max. "But I know he does."
Max lets go of him to turn back to the nervous, what she predicted to be, five year old. "Du er ok," She assures as she opens up to welcome the smaller to come closer again. It takes a second but the child answers to the action but coming closer to press against her side in a hiding manner as he looks at the strange male, wondering if he would hit him despite the friendly demeanor around him. "Han er en vann." She explains, telling him Vaughn is a friend.
The blonde smiles at the boy nicely, thoughts lingering through the smaller's thoughts to try and convey he isn't a threat.
The child doesn't ease around him though does look back up at Max, still awaiting a name." Hva er Navnet mitt?"
Max looks down at him for a long moment before glancing at Vaughn and back at the boy. "Gray." She answers looking down at him having no real reason behind the name other then it's appeal to her.
"Grå." He repeats.
