"So the place hasn't gone through?"
"No I'm still waiting on paperwork." Max says looking up at Wade. From her stance across the room, leaning against the wall as she and the mercenary stand both easily witting access if Peter who was set down in the chair in the small kitchen/living area.
"So we have don't have a place to fall back on? Are we able to move in before the contract is finalized?" The Merc asks in frustration.
"No. I wasn't given the permission and didn't urge to ask because I didn't assume we would have this problem so soon." They shifter says trying to retain a calmer voice while staying quiet for the sake of the child trying to sleep in the next room over only divided by a thin wall.
Peter stared at the floor in front of him. He was tired of this situation. Staring guiltily and silently at the ground while someone else discussed how to fix what he ruined. He holds his small stuffed anti-hero close to his chest as he remains silent, knowing well he didn't have a solution or useful comment to the current problem.
Wade pinches the bridge of his nose, a telltale sign to the arachnid that his Soulmate was becoming stressed and victim to his boxes surely arguing within his mind.
Peter watches the two assassins tentatively was they stand in a charged silence as neither has a solution for the issue.
"Maybe I should just talk to Aunt May. She might be able to at least help us." Peter says quietly.
"No, Peter that isn't an option. It's one of the first places they would look for you. Besides you can't explain this to her now at a time like this. She would kill you before for not telling her for so long. Going to her now only because you're in trouble would break her." The Mercenary says immediately vetoing the idea for Peter's and his only remaining relative sake.
"She might at least be able to offer us somewhere to stay until we can get away." The arachnid counters for reason.
"You can't get her involved in this situation now Peter. It wouldn't be fair to her." Max says further pushing Peter's option aside. The Spider glares at the pair for the disregard they were giving him when he was the only one that was offering a useable option. "You two could stay here." She counters. "That way no one has to stress over the idea of a reveal yet."
"Here?" Peter says skeptically his hand moving to wave at the small place.
"You hardly have enough here to accommodate your new responsibility much less two more adults." Wade says seeming distant as he listens to another argument over the situation in his mind.
"[Or maybe we won't complain and just say thank you.]" Yellow slips out in a ball of annoyance.
Both dragon and arachnid give Wade a momentary odd look as his expression changes from that of exasperation to that of humiliation and mortification. "Sorry." He says quickly. It wasn't necessarily Wade who sounded different, but tone of voice and the delivery was enough to understand what had happened. At least for the Arachnid, it took Max a long minute to conclude what the outburst was without the help of her 'resource' to remind her of the mercenary's voices and sub personalities under the single dominant main person that is in control.
"It's okay Wade."Peter assures in an automatic reaction to comfort and encourage his Mate. He pauses in his thoughts to try and correct himself of calling Wade the single word come from a simplified version of himself, focused on the basics of survival. He moves to stand at his Soulmate's side, looking up at him in total expectation to not have to hear the merc ever have to apologize. Especially not when the arachnid was the issue and causing the other to buckle to old habits under stress because he couldn't focus on managing his voices.
"Was that a yes or do you need to think about it?" The other assassin opposite of the couple questions while pushing the latest small event out of focus finding nothing significant nor important about it for the present problem. One of the few characteristics Peter found appealing about her. Unlike humans she's able to quickly sort and organize inputs from her senses quickly and decide if something was overlooking.
"Yes." Peter answers.
Wade looks down at Peter, his body still tense with anxiety though now focused as much as he's allowed to thanks to his own thoughts, no need to be helped by the boxes as he tries to refocus on the conversation.
"You're sure?" He questions the smaller arachnid.
Peter looks down at the hardwood floor. "Yes I'm sure." He answers quietly.
