~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"You quit the Avengers?" Wade asks in alarm. "Why on earth would you do that?"
"I don't know. I just. He said I couldn't be Spider-Man anymore, that I gave up my freedom to choose and just... it just made me angry." The arachnid says looking at the ground.
"You know that means that if you do one more thing wrong they will take you in and they won't let you back out Peter. They-"
"I already threatened Fury." Peter says ashamed of himself in front of his mate.
"You what?"
Peter cringes before looking up at Wade with guilty Hazel eyes.
"Peter. Oh fuck. Why? Why would you do that?"
"He was threatening to publish my name if I left. I just... reacted." Peter says staring at the plate he had hardly touched in front of him.
"That know where you work, how do you plan on getting away from them? They know where we live and everything about you Peter." Wade says looking back at his arachnid in frustration. He couldn't be to harsh on Peter for it, he himself sure as hell had made similar if Not much worse decisions in his time. "You're probably going to have to give up being a hero. Or Spider-Man at the least Now anyway." Wade says finally after a long pause.
"I know," Peter says looking down at Wade's boots rather than his expression of disappointment.
"I need to call Tony." Wade sighs, moving past Peter to look for where he had set down his phone.
Peter groans as Wade walks away. Stupid stupid stupid. Why was he so stupid? It had seemed fair to do what he did at the time. Why was it so awful now?
Because he thought of the consequences and he is nothing but a stupid little brat who can't control himself because he got bitten by a Fucking genetically altered Spider!
"Peter calm down." Wade says softly into the ear of the panting spider. Peter hasn't realized he had started to scream out loud. Wade hushed him, hugging the confused arachnid from behind and carefully rocking them. He nuzzled the side Peter's head with his own, another thing he had noticed the arachnid to do when he seeked affection. He hopes the small gesture would help soothe his soulmate into calming.
Peter stares at the reflection of himself in a dark plane of glass. Taking in the crazed look of a wild, unpredictable and uncivil young man. Fangs bared in a growl and eyes glaring at the reflection with a heated hate for the world and himself.
.....
That's Spider-Man. New York's personal little innocent wall crawler. Looking over his city with a blood lust.
That's him.
That's Peter Parker.
His expression slowly falls, fangs retracting and growl silenced as that hard look drops away and reveals the truly terrified teen he is. He looks at the bright red and blue fabric tightly covering his body and the symbol plastered on his chest. He glances at the mask in his hands before back up at the male in the reflection. He's not... he's not a Hero. Not anymore. He looks at the strong arms wrapped around him protectively, the man whispering in his ear and slowly swaying them.
That's a Hero. Between the two of them Wade was the real hero here.
Peter meets his own eyes again in the reflection, feeling himself start to quiver. What is he? What is Peter Parker? What, what really is Spider-Man?
.....
He's a monster.
A killer.
He's dangerous.
Fury was right. Peter really shouldn't be allowed to roam free. He really does deserve to be locked up. Confined and watched. Removed from the city and civilians. He isn't a hero, he wasn't ever a hero. All he ever did was act out a good morality and pretended like that was he code. He convinces himself that it was his code to live by. Deep down he really didn't care, he didn't have that instinct to save or protect. He only had the desire to hunt and survive. To- ... to protect one thing above himself. Peter looks up at Wade again. Deadpool stared back this time through the reflection. Holding Peter as close as possible in a loving grip.
Tears fall down Peter's face as he turns around in Wade's hold. Wrapping his arms around his soulmate's waist. He Buries his face into that strong chest of his husband before he starts to sob.
What had he become? What happened to that intelligent, curious kid he knew he used to be. That loved taking pictures and skate boarding down the side walks when the sun was warm and soft against the city. What happened?
"It's okay Baby Boy." Wade whispers into Peter's ear.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry." Peter cries, his eyes stinging and tears soaking into the red and black fabric of Wade's suit.
"It's okay."
