Several days flew by, and came the long awaited dinner with Grandfather Myeonghan. My days flew just like a normal family would potray.

Husband going to work while the wife are preparing food. My kid goes to school, my wife on the other hand going to work as per scheduled, everyday. Coming back home like a husband would— greeted by my wife, and kid— I would occasionally peck her cheeks, pinch her nose, hug her. Tried to.

Of course, the days wouldn't run smoothly, she would be distancing herself from me showering kisses to her and hugging her. Ever since I uttered Shin Hyungsik name and the make out event, she would be avoiding me, making herself busy in the kitchen, or attend to Jitae's needs. I feel helpless.

I did asked her when she was frozen when the name, Shin Hyunsik came out. It was none of my concern. That was her reply. I was frustrated. It was hard to make her to break down her shells that encloses her heart. I tried to get close to her, but the walls that she built was too thick for me to penetrate. I miss her mischievous personality. I want my Jiyeon back.

The day I've been trying to avoid, meeting the infamous Grandfather Myeonghan. I was waiting in the living area, dressed in a full suit, a white crisp shirt, over pants, with a red bow tie. Both my wife and son are getting ready in their rooms, with my housekeeper helpjng Jitae to get ready.

My head turned towards the sound of heels tapping the floor. I could never forget the beautiful sight. Jiyeon presented herself looking elegant as well as breathtaking in her red dress that settles below her knees, with a slit on the right, teasing just enough amount of her soft milky skin, paired with black stilettos, that matches with my red bow tie. Her long locks was let loose with large curls. I was in awe, that I almost forgot to give her a necklace with J&T initials.

"Before you said anything, this necklace is yours. It's Jitae's initial." I said, while she was facing her back towards me. I clipped on the necklace on her neck. "Thank you. It's beautiful." She said looking through her reflection from the window.

If only I could be frank that J & T represents our initials. One day, Taehyung. One day.

"Did I tell you, you looking breathtaking?" I said. My eyes were glued to her.

"Well, you don't look bad yourself!" She said softly. Once again, I let myself loose, and smashed my lips to her. She was kissing me back but again, the mood was cut off, when she pulls away. "No! One year remember?" She whisper-yelled at me.

"Don't tell me you don't feel anything! The kiss seconds ago was real! You felt it! We both do!" I was fuming in anger. I tried to keep my voice lower, afraid that Jitae might hear us.

"Don't." She said with her trembling voice on the verge crying. "We weren't supposed to." She continued. "I'm s-scared." She whispered. She then mumbled to herself in a very soft voice, which I could hear a bit next to nothing, somewhere along the lines was "losing".

Still in anger, I said "Why won't you open up to me? I am your husband!"

"Temporary. Husband." She said firmly, as if she weren't on the verge of breaking down minutes ago. I just can't understand her.

"Mommy, daddy! I am ready!" Both of us gave him a smile though we both know it was a fake smile. With a tight tension clouding us, I said, "Ready to go?" with a total flatness in my tone.

I sccoped Jitae in my arms and went out from the house straight to the elevator without waiting for Jiyeon.

I thought it was a dinner just among our small family with Grandfather, but once we arrived at the mansion, we were greeted by her extended family,— including aunts, uncles, cousins too! No wonder Jiyeon's mother insisted us to dress up well.

"Welcome, Jiyeon, Taehyung!" Her parents greeted us.

"Grandmama, Grandpapa!" Jitae squealed.

"Come on! Let's go in. Jitae? Do you want to play with you cousins? They are in the playroom!" Jitae nodded excitedly, and went to the playroom with the help.

"Come, let's bring you guys to meet the others! Your parents are here too, Taehyung." Jiyeon linked her arm with mine, we were displaying a fake smile to the crowd masking our pain. Her parents introduced us to each one and every family member in the room. We then met with my parents too.

"Finally, I get to meet my grandson in-law!" I heard a loud voice booming from across the room. Jiyeon whispered to my ear, telling me that is her grandfather. Once her grandfather reached us, I raised my hand to shook his.

"You are the Kim Taehyung, I gathered?"

"Yes I am." I answered.

"Why him Jiyeon? I thought your husband is going to be better than him? Maybe Kim Namjoon. The smart guy."

"Grandfather. I believe—" I held my wife's arm to stop her from explaining.

"I know you might not be able to trust me. But I believe, I am able to take care of your granddaughter as well as Jitae. I even changed Jitae's surname to Kim, as I always thought of him as my own, since day one. I do not know how to explain this but, I felt the connection between us. He's been a son to me and always be. My wife too, I love her so much, more than life itself."

"How can I be sure that you aren't marrying this family due to status?"

"Why would I be if I work hard to have my own name known to the public? The Kim Taehyung. I have the stability to support them both, as my own family." I stated.

Grandfather Myeonghan opened his arms widely. I was confused by Jiyeon's father pushed me to grandfather Myeonghan. "I was testing you son. I know you will take a good care of my precious pumpkin and her little pumpkin. Thank you, son!"

I gave him a good hug. "Chill son! You are sweating!" Her grandfather said. Jiyeon thanked me as she linked her arm with mine after I pulled away from Grandfather. All I could do was nod.

Before we could move into the dining area, her grandfather stopped us and said, "Son, pumpkin, I would like to have a talk with you both, privately in my study later, after dinner."
