I ended up telling them what had happened starting from the night of the accident to the paparazzi. The only thing I did not disclose was the fact that Jiyeon asked me to marry her. I made a mental note to personally asked Jiyeon her reasons on marrying me.
After two cups of tea, I called out Jitae from the play area, as the clock strucked one in the afternoon. I promised Jitae to bring him to the pizzeria. Once I gotten hold of Jitae, we went back to the table.
"My my Taehyung, I can't believe you are a father now!" Seokjin said.
"Shut up!" I gritted.
"Come to think of it, Jitae's face seems familliar, but I can't recall anybody who resembles him." Jimin said.
"You think too much, Jimin." I said, dismissing him. "Well, we better off now, I am sure Jitae is hungry and up for some pizza! Right, Jitae?" Jitae was jumping when the word pizza came out from my mouth.
"Goodbye guys!" I smiled.
"Goodbye Grandpas! I promise to visit Grandpas again with mommy and daddy too. Okay?" I heard a small groan from each one of them while Lynnia was chuckling. Jitae let go of my hand and went to kiss Lynnia's cheeks.
Goal!
And that is how, Lynnia earned jealousy from the others!
All thanks to Jitae. My precious kid.
What? Kid?
Jitae let out a small burp after two and a half slices of pizza. I feel like a proud dad, having to feed his kid to the fullest! He is sure hungry.
"What a cutie! You are a great father indeed, I can tell." A lady in her 40s, sitting across the table with her husband said.
"Thank you." I said, to save myself from much of a hassle answering the lady. Hell, I don't even have a desire to correct her.
"Are you done, son?"
"Are we going to visit mommy now?" I nodded at him.
"Excited aren't you?" I asked. Bouncing on his seat he answered yes.
Me too, kiddo! Why is my heart racing on a very high speed?
To be honest, I am a bit nervous on coming back to the hospital. I assumed that it must be because I'm afraid the question might popped out again. Intertwining my hands with Jitae's, I took a deep breath before knocking on the door.
There she was, on the bed, with her free hand clasping the end of the newspaper, reading with her sight totally covered by the newspaper. As if she knew who was entering the room, whilst still reading the newspaper, she greeted, "Good day, husband! I miss you already!"
That seven- letter word!
H-u-s-b-a-n-d!
Decided to play along, I replied "Hello wife! Indeed it's a good day." Minus the paparazzi though.
I scooped Jitae in my arms, and placed him on her bed. "Jitae!" She said in a sing song tune, and hugged him with her free hand.
"Mommy I miss you! Daddy brought me to the mall to buy clothes, and we met uncles, and aunty too, and I eat ice cream, and pizza!"
"Did you? You must be getting the chocolate ice cream did you? My boy sure looks handsome today!" He nodded enthusiastically.
"Yes, Daddy said he loves chocolate ice cream too!"
"Daddy?" She asked, confused.
"I--" I started but cut off by Jiyeon. "So, you started on your role already, husband?" She smirked. I looked up to the ceiling, flustered.
"He asked for my permission though, plus I am protecting him from the media." Her smirked turns into a warm smile, smiling to Jitae, with her hair strands falls from behind her ear, covering her face.
I was mesmerised by her smile. She looks alluring. Indeed she's a great mother.
I shook my head, to clear out the thought. This is not supposed to be happening. She's a stranger. A total stranger!
"Taehyung! Clear out what thought?" Did I say that aloud?
"Ah yes?" I replied Jiyeon.
"In your own bubble again? Yes, you did say it out aloud, enough for me to hear it."
"Oh, sorry! I was thinking about work. Yeah, work." I gritted my teeth. Lies!
"Anyways, Jitae was telling you something, but you seem to get lost in your own world."
Channeling my sights to Jitae, I asked Jitae what he wanted to tell me. "Daddy, thank you for buying me clothes." He stood up, standing on the bed, cupping my cheeks with both of his small palms. "Thank you, Daddy! You are the best dad in the whole world!" He kissed both of my cheeks and hugged me.
"Remember, I'm your dad!" he giggled asking me to stop tickling him. Jiyeon was laughing seeing us together. "M-mommy, help me! It tickles!"
"No, mommy won't help, because I'm going to tickle you too!" Both of us continue to tickle Jitae.
Our own little bubble was bursted when we heard the door slides open, and the doctor and a nurse came through. "What a beautiful family!" the nurse said giving us her most sincere smile.
"Thank you" I said.
"Good news Mr. Kim! Your wife can be discharged today! I suggest it would be better for her to tone down her work, due to her arms and bruised ribs. I've done all the tests, and I can assured you she is doing fine. No need to be worry. Just make sure she'll get her ribs checked." The doctor told me.
"Mrs Kim, you are not to do heavy work, and possible get your conditions check once in a while in the hospital until your ribs are fine. Oh, are you planning to open up your cast here or your hospital?"
"I'll just continue my check up in my hospital." She persuaded the doctor.
"Mommy can go home now?" Jitae asked while still in my arms.
"Yes, kiddo, your mom can leave the hospital today. Take care of your mommy okay boy?" The doctor ruffled his hair. Jitae was bouncing in my arms, excitedly.
The doctor had left the room several minutes after he conveyed the good news. Dressed in a purple sundress that I bought together with Jitae this morning, she was pacing from the bathroom and her bed, to pack up her stuffs. She declined my offer to help her pack sternly saying she is capable of doing it though I can see she crunched her face in agony due to her bruised ribs. I have no choice but to play with Jitae. Seeing that she is done with her packing, I carried Jitae, and approached her to carry the paper bag.
"Ready to go?"
