20 minutes passed and it was already dark out, they had just got on to Route 23.

"Hey, can I say somethin that has been on my mind for a while?" Abraham asked Theo, taking a seat besides her.

"Sure" Theo nodded, looking at him for a second.

"I never apologised, for my actions and words back at the church" Abraham nodded, Theo looked at him quickly before looking back at the road once again.

"It was in the heat of the moment, I'm sorry too," Theo nodded, and she was.

"Just for the record, i think your a badass, and i believe you and i can be good friends" Abraham smiled, "You would have been good in the military" he complimented.

"Thanks, I never thought about joining the military" She smiled back "Guess we live in a war now anyway right" she laughed as Abraham nodded with a smile.

She continued to drive before something caught her eye.

"Shit hold on!" She yelled as she slammed her foot down, everyone gripping on as she hit the breaks incredibly hard.

She watched as her dad and the others drove into a herd of walkers, eventually losing sight of them.

Theo quickly got out of her seat and ran out the door.

"Theo!" She heard Abraham yell, but Daryl followed her out.

"Oh my god, can you see them?" She panicked, trying to see anything, headlights, hear someone yelling. Anything.

"No, come on get back in" Daryl told her gently leading ehr back in.

"What do we do?" Carol asked as she looked around once they were safely back inside the RV.

"Wait here" Daryl began but stopped moving when he caught something entering the sky.

The rest of the group followed where he was looking to see a flare.

"That's them," Theo said confidently.

Abraham quickly jumped into the driver's seat and drove in the direction of the flare.

A few minutes passed and they got to a water tower, with a building in behind.

They got out slowly and cautiously, looking around to see no one around.

"Help!" someone yelled.

They ran in the direction it came from to see a man in his 20s, lying down with a walker heading his way.

Theo reacted by throwing a knife and the walker killing it quickly.

They continued to run, all guns pointed.

"Please, I think I broke my ankle," he begged. The man was clearly in a lot of pain.

"That flaer, you with Aaron?" Theo asked, pointing her weapon at his as a warning.

"Aaron found you?" He asked, a smile playing on his lips.

"Name now!" Theo yelled with her gun still pointed at him

"Eric!" He answered with his hands up

"Get him up," Theo ordered, Daryl and Abraham helping him up.

"In there" Maggie pointed out a building, they opened the door and put Eric down, Maggie and Carol attending to him.

"You think he is with Aaron?" Tara asked, looking at Theo.

"The flare, he might be" Theo nodded "D, can you take the door?" She asked him

"Yeah" He nodded heading out to watch the door.

"Tara, make sure he has no weapons, and don't leave him alone, sort out his ankle. Sasha, Rosita and Abraham search this place to see if there is anything worth taking, Noah stays with me" Theo instructed.

They all nodded and did as they asked.

Theo sat down, Noah joining her.

"Why is your dad the leader when the role is born for you?" Noah asked with a teasing smile.

"Dad had the sense of a cop, in the beginning that's what helped, his skills developed, my skills were made" She explained, playing with her knife.

"You remind me of my dad, can't admit when something is made for them, but has to do it another way" Noah tried to explain

"I never said anything about when you found your family, i know what you must have felt, it's not easy losing family" Theo nodded

"Your mum?" Noah guessed

"Yeah" Theo nodded "Just, you ever need anything, even if it's just sit and talk about anything, I'm here" She nodded as Noah smiled at her.

"Thank you" He smiled

After a while Daryl signalled for everyone to come out, signally that the others got here.

Theo sprinted to the door and ran out to see her father. She hugged him tight before allowing Carl to do the same, she hugged Glenn before hugging Michonne.

"Eric!" Aaron yelled running into the building.

Rick angrily went to follow but Theo stopped him.

"Take a breather" Theo instructed as the rest of them went inside.

"What do you mean?" He asked, taking his time to look his daughter in the eye.

"I mean dad, you almost ruined our chances of this, if this is real, which i am pretty certain it is, you almost stopped that" Theo spoke angrily.

"You're no better than me" Rick spoke down to his daughter.

"No, I am worse. But as your daughter, not as a partner, which you see me more as these days, this is going to work" Theo spoke calmly.

"You're not my partner." Rick began "You are my daughter, but also the smartest person i know, sometimes i don't know who should be in charge here" Rick smiled

"Well maybe it's time to step down old man" Theo laughed

"Watch it" Rick smiled back, a genuine smile.

"Come on, go meet Eric" Theo nodded as Rick walked in, Theo following.

She walked up the stairs and sat with Daryl who was playing with his crossbow.

"I want a crossbow" She frowned

"Nah, you're the badass with the bat" Daryl smiled.

"True" She laughed, looking at her weapon.

"And not just that..." Daryl quietly began "We ever have a kid, i want them to have a crossbow" Daryl spoke honestly

"You want kids?" Theo asked shocked, looking at him, Daryl continued to play with his crossbow.

"Didn't know i wanted one until i lost one" Daryl spoke openly about it for the first time.

"I didn't-" Theo began

"Not until we have somewhere safe, somewhere I know we would have a chance," Daryl admitted.

Theo smiled.

"Don't give me that look woman" Daryl groaned, rolling his eyes, a slight smirk on his lips.

But she couldn't stop smiling.

Daryl pushed her playfully as her smile grew even more.

"Alright" Theo agreed.

"Really?" Daryl asked, some what shocked she agreed.

"Yeah, when we are somewhere safe, and we have that safety for at least a year, we try for one" Theo smirked

"Okay. Deal" Daryl smiled.

Daryl leaned in and gave her a kiss.

"But no stupid names" Theo pulled away

"What, i don't think something like Egon" Daryl teased

"Ghostbusters? Really" Theo laughed

"Only know it cuz it was my favourite film as a kid" Daryl admitted

"No" Theo laughed, moving the hair from his face.

"Alright fair enough" Daryl smiled.

The next day the group set out in the RV as well as another car they found. Eric directed them to the place they were going.

Now named.

Alexandria.

They pulled outside the gates.

Slowly and cautiously walking up to the gates.

"Ready?" Aaron asked as the gate slid open.

Suddenly a trash can fell behind them, as a reaction everyone pointed their guns in that direction, Daryl shooting his crossbow and what was now a dead possum.

"We bought dinner," Daryl joked as the man at the door groaned in disgust.

They walked inside staring the stranger down.

"I'll need you all to hand over your weapons if you are to stay here" The man asked, looking between everyone in the group.

"Nicholas, it's fine. Deanna wants to speak to them first" Aaron explained

"Who's Deanna?" Abraham asked, looking at the stranger next to Aaron.

"The woman who started this, she wants to meet you all individually, Rick why don't you start" Aaron said, Daryl walking next to Theo.

"We are not handing over our weapons, we don't even know if we want to stay yet" Rick told Nicholas.

"You get a weapon?" Theo asked, pointing at his gun.

"I'm on the gate." He answered, staring her down.

"Looks like you missed one." Theo answered "Sasha" She instructed as Sasha turned and pointed her gun and shot the incoming walker.

Rick smiled

"It's a good job we are here" He answered before walking towards Aaron with Judith on his hip.
