-monster disguised as a man-
Theo had managed to get some sleep during the night, the cold concrete floor making it hard to stay asleep for more than 30 minutes at a time, but it was enough.
She was awakened by Merle opening her door with toast in his hand.
"Morning, baby bird, bought you some breakfast", he smiled strangely.
"Not hungry", she announced, sitting up.
"Tough love, I get it, but you need to eat something" he sounded kind for a minute before Theo smelt the toast.
Her stomach turned, and she began to feel sick once again. She stood up before leaning over, puking up the small amounts of liquid and food in her system; most of what came up, however, was bile.
"Wow, you got a bug, or will I be an uncle?" Merle laughed. But the comment didn't make Theo laugh; she hadn't even considered the possibility of her being pregnant.
"Fuck", Theo wiped her mouth, thinking to herself.
Her mother had died around a month ago, and that was after they had sex for the first time.
She had been so lost in their moment together that she wasn't even sure if Daryl had pulled out.
"Uh oh, that ain't no face of excitement. Jesus doll, how many times you may have been shaggin, huh?" Merle laughed.
"Merle, this ain't funny." She panicked, turning to look at him.
"Calm it; we have facilities. Come on, the boss wants to meet you anyway", Merle smiled, walking her out of her cell.
"Where's Glenn and Maggie?" Theo asked worriedly
"None of you are concerned, baby bird, this way," Merle led her out, the bright sun blinding her as she left.
She hardly had time to see anything before Merle dragged her into another building.
Merle pushed through the doors to reveal three doctor rooms and doctors.
"This place has a lot of shit", Theo started as Merle dragged her into one of the doctor's rooms.
"Merle, what's going on?" the nurse asked. She had short ginger hair and green eyes.
"The Woman here might be carrying my nephew or niece," Merle smiled as Theo lay on the table.
"I'm Lucy. How long have you been thinking about being pregnant?" She asked sweetly.
"5 minutes". Theo put sharply, looking at Merle.
"Right. Have you had any morning sickness?" she asked as she walked over and grabbed something from a cupboard.
"Few days?" Theo thought
"Let's see, shall we?" The lady placed the cold jelly on Theo's stomach and then the ultrasound device on her stomach. She moved it around for a few minutes before stopping.
"Congrats" she smiled at Theo. But her face wasn't full of joy; she was scared, more scared than ever; not only did her mother die from childbirth only days ago, but she didn't want a baby, and Daryl, well, who knows how he would react.
"You are only a couple of weeks, maybe four, potentially five. These machines aren't very clear, and it's tough to see anything, but that is the little embryo. As you can see, it looks like a blob." She pointed at the screen, but Theo said nothing.
"Imma be an uncle", Merle smiled, way too excited.
Theo felt as though she would be sick again, but nothing would come up.
"Your first?" The nurse smiled, but again, Theo ignored her.
She had no idea what she was going to do.
"Hello," a strange man said from the door.
Theo looked over to see a tall man with grey hair and blue eyes looking sharply at her.
"I'm the Governor; it's nice to meet you finally", he smiled, looking around the room before meeting her harsh gaze.
But Theo stayed stern. She wasn't even sure if it was because of a new face she couldn't trust or because she was pregnant.
"Not a chatter. No worries." He looked at Merle, who left the room, followed by the nurse.
"I heard your good news through the door. However, I must know your camp location, numbers, and weapons. Merle tells me that you are with his brother and that the group was weak when he last saw it. Therefore, we are offering some hospitality," the Governor smiled; everything he said sounded rehearsed.
"If that's the case, it's a hard pass" Theo smiled back sarcastically
"Look, in the current moment in time, your Asian friend, if fighting off a walker with nothing, well if he is even still fighting, your other friend, Maggie, is it, well she is having to listen to it, and if you want them to survive you better tell me." His face turned from friendly to not so much in seconds.
"You think you scare me? " she snarled.
He stood up, nodding his head and smiling.
He grabbed her arm sternly, leading her to a warehouse-looking place with no windows. He opened a door and threw her on the floor.
"Theo!" Maggie yelled, looking at her.
"Are you alright?" Theo quickly shook off the pain in her arm and got up to go to Maggie, but she was stopped by a pair of hands grabbing her.
She was dragged away from Maggie's grip; her hands were taken into a pair of cuffs, followed by having them put above her head, her feet barely touching the ground.
"You wanna make this hard, fine?" the Governor said, walking in with Glenn. He pulled Glenn's hair, making him look up.
"I will either kill the blonde pregnant one or the cute brunette in a matter of seconds. However you tell me where your people are, I'll keep both alive," the Governor threatened.
"What will it be, Glenn?" The governor asked
"Please..." Glenn begged
One of the Governor's men grabbed Glenn. The Governor walked over to Theo, took a metal pole from the ground, swinging at her stomach harshly, causing Theo to let out a giant yell.
Glenn closed his eyes.
"Open your eyes, Glenn!" The Governor yelled.
He did.
He took another swing at Theo; this time, blood came out of her mouth, and her body struggled to balance.
"I need to remind you that she is pregnant. You're killing the baby here!"
The two of them looked at her, worried and scared, as it was news to them.
"Glenn!" Maggie cried out as the Governor took a knife, cutting her shirt, exposing her stomach that was red, bruises forming.
"One more for luck huh?" The Governor smiled
"The prison!" Glenn yelled just before he hit Theo's stomach
Theo closed her eyes in frustration. He didn't have a choice, but she knew what that meant.
"How hard was that?" the governor asked, letting Glenn go, and the men left them alone.
Glenn and Maggie ran to Theo quickly.
"Don't touch baby bird. She has to suffer" Merle smiled before leaving the room.
"Theo," Maggie cried as she placed a stool under her legs, allowing her to stand on it. Her head swung low, scared to look up.
"Theo..." Glenn cried.
"I'm okay" She winced.
But their moment was ruined by the doors opening again.
"Oh no. No. No" Merle kicked the stool from below her, and she fell, harshly stopping from her restraints.
"Merle!" Glenn yelled at him.
"Here", Merle smiled as he punched Glenn in the face, sending him to the ground, tying him to the side of the room, and stopping him from helping Theo.
Maggie moved backwards; Merle, however, didn't tie her up.
"Merle, Theo needs help. It blows like that to her stomach... She could lose her baby, your nephew," Glenn reminded him.
Merle's face turned soft for just a second before smiling.
"She's fine," Merle smiled before turning away and locking them in the dark again.
"Glenn", Theo called out, her breath instead; she could feel her eyes getting heavy.
"Yeah," He sadly called back after her.
"I think the baby is gone" " she cried; during her beating, she felt warmth in her underwear, and looking down as she braced for her final blow, she saw blood on her trouser leg.
Glenn's head fell as he felt as though this was his fault.
Maggie quietly crawled over to Theo.
"Can I?" She carefully nodded.
"Yeah..." Theo nodded to herself
Maggie gently felt around Theo's legs, her inner thighs.
They were warm, wet and sticky.
"I'm sorry, Theo," she cried for her as Theo continued to hang out there.
Unable to do anything.
