Snapes POV

I brought my lips to hers, just brushing against them tenderly
Before gently kissing her, it was short but sweet
As I pulled away i could still feel the softness of her full lips.
I couldn't believe what I had just done, I needed to leave
I needed to get away

"I'm sorry, that should never have happened Mya." I apologised.
I got up and walked away, Leaving her sat there
"Return to your dormitory NOW Miss Taylor" I ordered her
I felt terrible, rejecting her like that after I initiated it
But I had to I couldn't let her into my heart, I'd only get hurt again.

Once I returned to my chambers I sat at my desk in deep thought
I scolded myself for my stupidity, 'I'm a highly praised potions master
Who has just risked his entire career' i sighed

I heard a knock at the door, "Come In" I groaned
It was Mya
"I told you to return to your dormitory Miss Taylor, what part did you not understand?" I moaned, it killed me inside to be so cruel.. Deep down I just wanted to kiss her again.

"I will tell you what I 'don't understand' professor, why you were so kind to me, you made me feel safe, we even shared a kiss... And then you pushed me away and turned back into the cold hard bastard everyone says you are!"
I was shocked, I think it's the first time I have ever heard a student call me that, to my face anyway.
I reached out to take her arm, she flinched again "Please don't hit me!" she shrieked
Cowering away from me. I grabbed her and pulled her close to me
"I would NEVER lay a hand on you Mya, I just wanted to tell you that I am sorry that I hurt you, when I pushed you away" I held her tight and she clung on to me for dear life

"I want to kiss you, I want to be with you, but I can't, and I will explain"

I led her through into my chambers and sat her down by the fire, I didn't know how I was going to phrase it, I just knew that I needed to tell the truth.
"I find it impossible to trust anyone, I was hurt badly many years ago, and my wounds have still not fully healed. Also, you are a student, which makes the situation impossible" I explained holding her hand tightly in mine
She nodded, she understood.
"Maybe in time... Things will be different" I smiled, stroking her hair
"I'd like that" she replied before adding "I really want to kiss you again"
I grinned at the young witch before pushing my lips to hers.
