Blame
Kanan and Ezra landed the ship and opened the ramp.
"You're ok." Ezra said in relief as he ran off the ship's ramp, followed by Kanan.
"Run..." She whispered and Ezra took a step back.
"Ani don't do anything you might regret." Kanan warned.
"It's too late." She said, tears running down her face.
"Ani..." Ezra warned.
"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." She said, her hand moving to her lightsaber.
"Don't." Kanan warned pulling out his own lightsaber.
"I don't have a choice, don't you understand." She said, pained as a figure emerged out of the darkness.
"You weren't the only one who heard that conversation on imperial frequency." The second sister said, walking out of the house.
Ezra and Kanan ignited their lightsabers.
"You always have a choice Ani." Kanan told her as the two backed up on the sand.
"I guess I have a choice, I just made the wrong one." She said, igniting her lightsaber.
"Kill them." The second sister ordered.
"Yes Master." Ani responded, getting ready to fight.
"You are stronger than this."
"No I'm not, we don't stand a chance, we don't have hope." She responded as she began to duel Ezra and Kanan.
Ani held them both back as the second sister sat on the sand crossing her legs.
"What's she doing?" Ezra asked Kanan, as he blocked another attack from Ani.
"Whatever it is it's not good?" Kanan responded.
Ezra felt doubt spring up in the back of his mind, something pulled at him.
"You know I'm right Ezra, we don't stand a chance." Ani said, sensing it and trying to catch them off guard.
"She's in my head." Ezra screamed, collapsing.
"Who?" Kanan said, worried as he took on Ani alone.
"The inquisitor." He said, grabbing his head, whispers filling his mind.
You're a monster.
You can't protect your friends.
Everyone will die.
You will hurt your loved ones.
You will lose.
He screamed.
Kanan tried to get away from Ani and attack the second sister, but she was blocking his every move. Happens when you train someone for three years.
Ezra focused and tried to turn out all of the doubt, but he still heard it and it was still plaguing his mind, making him grow angrier.
"Ezra?!" Kanan asked worried, trying not to kill Ani who was viciously trying to kill him.
"Help!" He yelled as he fought his anger, eyes turning yellow.
"Come on out Tekara, come and play." The second sister hissed.
"I-" Ezra started as he lost control, and his eyes turned yellow again.
"Kill him." The second sister ordered and Ezra got off the ground.
"Ezra. Ani. Don't please." Kanan begged, trying not to cry as Ezra faced him, eyes glowing. "Fight it."
Kanan was surprised as the second sister began to rise from her place, choking, he let his guard down for a second.
It was enough.
Ani slashed off his other arm and Kanan fell, breathing hard.
"Don't please."
"Too late." Ani said with a smirk and rose her lightsaber to decapitate him.
"I love you Ezra!" He yelled as Ani took the final stroke and Kanan fell dead.
Ezra snapped the second sisters neck as he heard Kanan yell out.
"No Kanan!" He yelled and the second sister fell dead. He ran over to Kanan.
"HEAL HIM!" Ezra yelled at Ani.
"I can't heal that." She said, gesturing to the body parts of Kanan laying on the ground.
"Now is not the time to be sassy." He yelled and force pushed her into the lake, in tears.
"I can't lose him again, I can't." He screamed but it was too late.
It was too late.
Kanan was gone.
And Ani might as well be.
