Ch.10
kawaii-unicorncactus WOOOOOOH WRITING SPREE!!!! My josh I love this book... it's so fun to write, so here's a 1421 word chapter! Enjoy!
I woke up to the lucid melody of bird songs.
It wasn't normal. The night wasn't as cold as it should have been. And I'm not as cold as I usually am waking up. And I feel... safe. Like when my mother would hold me in her arms. Special...
It's so warm...
I snuggle into the odd warmth, not caring at all to what it was. It felt like I was wrapped in a warm blanket, so soft and comfy...
That's a little creepy now that I realize that this is Shikimaru.
Oh shit! Shitty, fuck fuckity fuck damn it! What have I done! Fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck...
Wait.
The question is, is he awake yet?
I open my eyes and my fiery blush calms to an ember. He's snoring softly, and he looks relaxed. Oh god, I hope I'm not too heavy!
He's cute when he's sleeping...
Oh well, I don't want to burden him, especially after yesterday! Even if he is warm...
I push on his chest to sit up, but he literally rolls over.
Aaaaand I'm a teddy bear. Great.
Sarcastic? Me? Never!
Fine. I'll be a teddy bear. See how HE likes it when he wakes up. On the upside, I can enjoy my human heater for a bit longer!
So warm...
Shikimaru woke up to a surprising sight. In his arms was a precious smol child. All cuddled up to his warm body.
But seriously, tha fuck he be so warm, like-
Anywho, Shikimaru let go and stood up,
And still, Akemi hung on him like a koala. Ok, yeah, she is DEFINITELY awake.
And so, Shikimaru pried the smol koala off of his torso, but the second said koala hit the ground, she wrapped around his calf. Like a little kid wrapped around their parents leg because they want them to walk with them. (I used to sit on my dads foot when I was really small, and hold on and he would walk around with me just sitting there. That's basically what's happening here.)
Anywho-
Shikimaru looked at the mop of green hair attached to him. It was admittedly cute, but he had to go home before his parents went to wake him up.
"Akemi, I have to leave for school. I also have to get home before my mom comes to check on me. If I'm not there, I'll be grounded for even longer and it'll be even harder to visit you. That would be troublesome."
Akemi immediately let go and flopped backwards. There's little sticks and leaves in her short hair, along with dirt and charcoal from the burnt wood from yesterday. She also no longer has a place to sleep since her tree house is destroyed... hmmm...
Shikimaru's pov
How troublesome... troublesome girl.
"*sigh* Get up. You need a shower. How long will it take you to fix your house? What a drag."
Akemi just stared at me with a blank look from the ground. "A day, probably. And I can't get up. I'm dead."
I look at her with a look as blank as her own. "You aren't dead. Get up. You seriously need to wash your hair, and you have cuts and bruises. Geez, you're a drag. Come on, you're going with me. You look horrible." I'm just being honest.
"Ok. Carry me." Akemi put her arms out and stared me dead in the eyes.
"Your legs work perfectly fine. They aren't broken. I'm the lazy one here, get up. This is troublesome."
"Yes they are. They're completely shattered. Up." Troublesome woman. Sigh....
"Fine. I have to get home, and if I have to carry you there, so be it. Sigh, you're such a drag. How troublesome."
"And yet, you still deal with me. Now pick me up, my arms are starting to hurt." Can't argue with that.
I pick Akemi up, and throw her over my shoulder. It's pretty easy, considering she's so small.
"Ow! Not like that! Put me on your back or something, this hurts!" Uuuugh.
"Fine! Get on my back, lazy." Akemi crawled down, and mercilessly jumped on my back. It made me stumble.
"Oof! Thanks for the warning!"
"Shut up and walk!" There's that fire I remember. I smile.
Walk she says? Oh, time for some revenge. I'm still eight, so I can't go as fast as I wish I could, but it still shocked Akemi.
I suddenly took off at a fast speed, and Akemi let out a little squeak slash screech hybrid. But after a few seconds, she started laughing, and I could tell she was having fun.
We came across the gates. Now that we're here, I set Akemi down and peer from around a tree. It's early enough that the two lazies we have for guards are dozing.
"Ok, I'm gonna walk in front of the guards, and you run around the corner. Wait for me around the bushes. You see them?"
"Yeah, ok! But why can't I just walk in with you?" Akemi tilted her head.
"Isn't it obvious? Sigh, you're so troublesome. They'll ask where you came from, or who you are if they're awake enough to notice you. We can't explain that to them, and they have a list of people who live here. You wouldn't be on that list. While you're at it, shake the leaves and stuff out of your hair real quick. Just in case anyone happens to be out this early."
Akemi shook her head, and ruffled her hair with her hands. Sticks and leaves started to fall out, and even some dirt. Yeah, she definitely needs a shower.
I walk towards the gate, and pass right in front of the guards while Akemi runs around. Perfect. Geez, these guards suck.
I'm worried for the sake of our village.
I meet Akemi by the bushes, and start to tug her along. "Come on, we have to hurry. My mom usually wakes me up. She can't know I left." What a drag. *Sigh*, I talk so much more around Akemi.
Akemi started running with me. Eventually, we successfully reached my house. I helped Akemi through the window, and then I went in myself.
"Woah! Your room is really cool!" I don't get what Akemi is gawking at. My room is actually pretty plain. I guess it's just the fact she's never seen a regular house.
I hear something that sends panic through me. "Quick! I hear my mom! Uh, hide in the bathroom, ok?" I opened the door, and pushed her in. I closed it, ran to close the window, and jumped in bed just in time. This is such a drag.
My mom opens the door. "Oh, you're actually awake for once. Are you feeling ok?" I don't blame her for being suspicious, I can't remember the last time I woke up on my own. Not that I would bother remembering. In the first place.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I just fell out of bed and it woke me up." That was the lamest excuse ever. Well, it works. I can't exactly tell her I had to go help my secret friend after she had a meltdown and destroyed her house, so I disobeyed you and left after I was grounded. That wouldn't go over too well.
*Sigh*, this is such a drag.
"Well ok. Get ready for school, and you're coming home right after. Got it?" I sigh in frustration. Well, it's not like I need to visit Akemi if she's here.
"Yeah, yeah. I got it, now can you leave so I can change?" She grumbled, but then left.
Akemi opened the bathroom door and peeled into my room. "It's clear, you can come out now," I informed her.
"So that's your mom? Wow..." I look at her with a confused look.
"What do you mean, 'wow'?" A panicked look covers her face, and she puts her hands up.
"Oh, I didn't mean wow in a bad way! Her voice was just really pretty." Ok, kinda random, but that's just Akemi.
"Yeah yeah, whatever. Geez, this is such a drag. Now take a shower, you're filthy. I'll get you some of my older pajamas." I eyed the torn, old, and withered clothes she's worn since we met. She still has that huge jacket of hers, but it was burnt, and torn to shreds.
Sigh. What a drag.
