I smiled uncontrollably at those eyes of hers, her hands on my chest, and that smile she gave back. I brushed her cheek with my thumb and a tremble of enjoyment passed over her. Then I spoke in a quiet tone saying,

"Would it offend you if I said you feel so soft, so-" I struggled with the word, "fragile, in my arms?"

"I-I kind of like this feeling. It's so-" she couldn't place it, "so-"

"Human?"

She just smiled at me and I tilted my head closer to hers and brushed a strand of her white hair behind her ear. After sneaking a black rose into her hair I confessed,

"You know, I'm really tempted to kiss you but Hard to Get is one of my favorite games sooo see you tomorrow at 2?"

She nodded, her breaths short and then I plopped her unceremoniously down on the car roof and started walking away. 1, my conscience chastised, what are you doing?! You've lived in the gray for so long and now you're coming into the light?!

Aly's pov

I came back into the shop, my artificial stomach still fluttering. Eva was waiting for me, a smug smile on her face. Ugh, I thought, here it comes.

"Who gave you the rose?" Eva asked.

I blushed, I forgot the flower in my hair. I quickly swatted the flower from my hair and denied,

"No one."

She didn't buy it one bit, "I'm not even going to mention that black usually is associated with hate. Your boyfriend probably thought the contrast in colors complimented your facial attributes."

"It-" I stammered, "wasn't my boyfriend."

Eva's face folded in confusion and I said,

"Please don't tell Slime that I was gone."

"Why?" A watery voice said from behind me, coming down from the vents, "Worried that I won't cover for you?" He came to my side adding, "Like I've been since you felt emotionally attached to that tech?"

He must not have heard me say it wasn't my boyfriend.

"I-I just don't like talking about it." Glaring at Eva to keep quiet.

"Yeah, and dad wouldn't want to hear it. Especially after-"

"Slime," I said with a sad sigh, "I don't want to hear it."

Slime extended his body around me and looked deep into my eyes before going back into his normal form and heading towards the shop.

"Hmm, well as you know, father is trying to erase the 300 terabytes of porn Eva got stuck in her processor so it will be solely you and Iroha watching over the hospital and shop," he cast a glance back at me, "do not disappoint."
