Elizabeth Octavia Florence was raised in New York City with her twin brother Drew, her little sister Willow and her elder sister Abigail by her parents Winifred and Harry. They didn't have much money and grew up in a small apartment complex, some nights barely making rent.
Elizabeth had always had a passion for making music, she would write songs about her favourite stuffed animals and emotional ballads about her annoying brother cutting her barbies hair. Nobody ever took her that seriously when she told them she wanted to be a singer.
Winifred Florence has always been desperate to kick start her career selling cars. When the opportunity arises to start a state wide car company in Texas, she pounces at this opportunity and moves the whole family to Texas. The business is successful for the most part but her children are unhappy about leaving their friends in New York behind, including Elizabeth's best friend Inez.
Texas is different. The family are living in a mansion and going to private school. Elizabeth immediately hits it off with Jameson Winchester Hawthorne. A mischievous, amusing and wickedly bright boy who lives for games. He's the definition of nightmare dressed like a daydream.
Jameson helps make Elizabeth's settle into the school much smoother and even lets her join his friends. Elizabeth immediately hits it off with a girl called Emily and soon enough they're best friends.
Jameson develops a strong crush on Elizabeth immediately, and after time she follows even farther in love. He fell first, she fell harder. They develop a sort of situationship as 'platonic' friends who just so happen to make out sometimes. Think of it as friends with benefits — except they're both madly in love with each other.
The only problem is, Emily is in love with Jameson too, not to mention Grayson Hawthorne as well, and Elizabeth couldn't do that to a friend. Or could she?...
The two's forbidden romance becomes deeper and as more secrets balance it becomes harder to keep it going. They're young, stupid and reckless.
Emily find out about their relationship and manipulates both of them to the point she turns them on each other and the love they once shared deflates to no more than hatred. Emily ends up taking Elizabeth to a dangerous cliffside.
Emily dies. She had a heart transplant and was under strict order to live a relaxed life. Elizabeth watched her best friend die and blames herself.
Meanwhile, Winifred and Harry are going through a rough spot and end up filing for divorce. Winifred gets all the money and the kids whilst Harry gets nothing.
Winifred tells Elizabeth they are moving back to New York without allowing her to say so much as a goodbye to her friends.
When in New York, Elizabeth suffers from PTSD and writes songs to keep her thoughts away from Emily. She has everyone from her life in Texas blocked on all socials. During late nights of crying, drinking and vulnerable song writing she ends up creating several songs about Jameson. Upon uploading one of these songs online she receives a huge demand for her to make more music.
She ends up compiling some of her songs on one album, she records them professionally and recruits a team. Her music does so well that she becomes a highly influential singer with over 26 million instagram followers and 39 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Her agent booked her a world tour and every night is sold out. Her name is everywhere, she is making a huge name for herself with only her first album.
It's only when the tour reaches its three nights in Texas when Elizabeth runs into a problem. Her past life haunts her in the worst possible ways and she ends up rekindling things with Jameson.
When a vocal infection requiring surgery comes along, Elizabeth realizes she is stuck in Texas and has to cancel her world tour. The worst possible outcome has happened. She is stuck in the root of her trauma, with her ex and people she hasn't seen in a year, her tour is over and may never come back, shes sick and on vocal rest for several months.
Her agent tells her if her voice doesn't recover after a certain amount of time her label are planning on dropping her tour altogether.
So Elizabeth is forced to go back to school at the place where everything started for her, she finds herself reeled back into the Hawthorne's twisted mysteries whilst having her own reputation and career to uphold.
To make everything so much worse, her Mother refuses to move back to Texas so the Florence children are stuck staying with their Father in a tiny apartment just like the one they used to have in New York.

Just a broad warning in general that obviously this book is a fanfiction, meaning it's based heavily on the characters, plot lines, settings and dialogue of The Inheritance Games series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. I often take direct dialogue quotes from the original books and in no way claim to have written these on my own. I very much appreciate and acknowledge the hard workings put in by the author and once again am in no way trying to take ownership for any of that. I added my own characters and their plot lines, however the key plot of this book is based on the original series.
If you've read any of my other work, specifically the first solid 30 chapters of Riches you'll notice I make a lot of mistakes. A lot. I'm not perfect, but I do hope I've improved since my OG Wattpad days. So if there are mistakes feel free to point them out, I get it they bug me too.
These characters are in no way perfect. They have flaws, literally so many flaws. But that's just what makes them more relatable. I know sometimes they'll make decisions that'll have you screaming at your screen telling them to stop but I think thats one of the best parts about making your characters do dumb stuff.
