4: The Frat Party (Pt. 1)

The school day is nearly over, and Nadia is on the way to her dorm room when someone calls out to her from behind. "Hey, Nadia, wait up!" They say. Once Nadia gets a clear view of who is it, she realizes it's Sophia, her close to perfect, yet mysterious roommate. "Sup Sophia." She said with a smile. "Oh nothing." She says pretending to act nonchalant and contain her excitement. "Just by how you look right now, I can definitely tell that it's something." Nadia commented as she folded her arms. Sophia couldn't help but tell Nadia what she was hiding.

"Okay, okay! Fine!" She said excitedly. "So, I was sitting with Marie and some of the team during lunch and Marie was entirely jealous of you and Finn!" She said as she bounced up and down, barely containing herself. "Wait, why?" Nadia asked in confusion. "I mean I barely even know the guy. All he did was help me out yesterday." Nadia stated.

"Well , literally everyone knows how possessive Marie can be when it comes to Finn." She said. "Yeah, she was giving me the evil eye in College Lit earlier today." Nadia says as her and Sophia both walk to their dorm. "No way!" Sophia gasped. "Yes way." Nadia said with a laugh. "Marie said that you and Finn were obviously hitting it off earlier this morning. I mean, Finn might be a hardcore jock but he's actually pretty smart, like "straight A student" smart." Sophia uttered.

If Nadia wasn't impressed by Finn for his act of kindness yesterday, she surely was impressed now. "Straight A's?!" She thought. "Okay wow, he's literally incredible." Nadia replied as she giggled. "I know, right?!" Sophia agreed. "I'm thinking he's starting to notice you!" She continued. "And how's that?" Nadia said jokingly yet she was kind of intrigued. "Nadia, no one's ever intellectually challenged Finn. Most of us jocks, including his girlfriend, are too stupid or "popular" to care." She said with a laugh.

Just as she finished, Sophia spots Finn talking to a couple of his friends. "Hey, Finn!" She calls out to him gesturing for him to come over. Nadia tries to take Sophia's hand out of the air, begging her not to call him over. "Sophia, what are you doing?!" She hissed. "What does it look like? I'm calling him over, so he can talk to you!" She said, as she uses her other free hand to wave. "If Marie sees me talking to him, she might just kick my face in!" Nadia whispered sharply. "Well, screw her!" Sophia said with a smirk as she shrugged. "Should she really be saying that?" Nadia thought.

Before Nadia could stop Sophia, Finn had already made his way over to the both of them. "Hey guys." He said as he jogged over. "What's up, Finn?" Sophia asked with a big smile. Nadia couldn't help but feel embarrassed. "Nothing much." Finn said with a smirk as he shrugged. Then, his eyes fell on Nadia. "Although, I do need to have discussion with Ms. Brexwerry, if that's okay." He says as he still looks at Nadia, throwing her a wink. All Nadia could do was roll her eyes, especially at the fact that Finn just called her "Ms. Brexwerry."

"Oh no worries, I was just going over there.... to do something.... with someone." Sophia says as she horribly tries to make up an excuse to get Finn and Nadia alone. "Oh, hi, Susan! How are those aerobic classes going?!" Sophia says loudly as she quickly runs off to talk to Susan, apparently. On her way over, she throws Nadia a quick wink and a thumbs up.

Finn chuckles as he notices Sophia. "Now I know why she called me over here." He says with a smile. "In my defense, I literally begged her not to." Nadia says with a nervous giggle. "Trust me, I saw you." Finn replied with a smirk. Nadia sighs from embarrassment.

"Anyways, what did you wanna talk about?" Nadia asked as they started to walk together. "Why didn't you tell me about how much you liked Shakespeare?" He asked with a smirk. "You never asked." Nadia said confidently. "And why didn't you tell me that you were basically a straight A student?" Nadia said she walked towards him and stopped right in front of him. Finn walked towards her, closing the distance only by a little. "Because you never asked." He said with the same amount of confidence as Nadia.

"Don't copy me!" Nadia responded playfully punching him in his shoulder. "Hey, watch the merchandise!" Finn said jokingly. "I hope you're talking about the letterman jacket and not yourself." Nadia said as she giggled and continued to walk as Finn followed. "Maybe, maybe not." He said.

"No, but, I honestly came over here to ask you something." Finn said. "Okay, what's up?" Nadia said. Out from the corner of Nadia's eye, she starts to see Finn fidget. He's obviously nervous about something. "So, there's this party tonight, a frat party, actually. It's to officially kick off the school year, and, I was thinking that you should totally hang just for a bit." He added. "You know, so you can the "full American College experience?" Finn said with a chuckle.

"I don't know, I was gonna get started on reading " The Tragedy of Hamlet" tonight." She says with sly smirk. "Okay, that's totally a lie!" Finn says as he laughs. Nadia joins in. "You've probably read that play a thousand times." He continues. "Very true." Nadia says raising her pointer finger.

"But, seriously, Sophia's obviously showing up, so are you coming with her?" He asked. "Okay, I'll think about it." Nadia answers. "Okay, cool." Finn says, clearly relieved. "Well, I'm gonna leave now before Marie sees us walking together and kills the both of us." Nadia uttered in a joking manner. "See you later, then?" Finn asked still attempting to see if she's coming or not. "Maybe." She says as she jogged towards the entrance to the dorms. "I'll be looking for you all night, It'd be a tragedy if you left me alone." He says louder as he cups his hands around his mouth. "Well, maybe, if you look hard enough, you'll find me." She said with a shrug and closes the entrance door behind her.

Finn happily sighed as he walked back over talk to his friends while Nadia got to her dorm room door, opening it to reveal a very content Sophia. "So, what did you guys talk about?" She said wiggling her eyebrows as she made her bed. "Well, he invited me to the party you guys are having tonight." Nadia said as she slung her bookbag across the bed and sat down. "Wait, seriously?!" She said as her eyes widened in pure excitement. "Um yeah?" Nadia said with a giggle. "I'm not sure if I'll show up though. We do have classes in the morning." She added.

Nadia could see Sophia's pure excitement go from pure disbelief as she threw down the blanket she folding. "Okay, you are definitely showing up to this party." Sophia ordered. "And you're making me do this because...?" Nadia asked side eyeing Sophia. "Because you'll definitely have fun, and you get to meet new people. I mean, I can't be your only friend at Andel Falls." She says with a slight giggle.

Nadia began to smile to the fact that Sophia already sees her as a friend. "Plus, you get to spend time with Finn." She adds with a smirk. "Marie's definitely going to be there, so, that's a definite no." Nadia responded. "But, if you're going, then I guess I could hang for a little bit." Nadia sighed as she gave in. "Oh my God, Nadia, this is gonna be so much fun!" Sophia said as she jumped up and down.

"Yeah, let's hope it is."
