2: The Admirable Mystery
After Finn rescued Nadia from an obvious emotional breakdown, they started making their way towards the dorms, in order to find the RA.
"So Nadia, where are you from?" Finn asked her as they walked. "Oh no, I knew this was coming." Nadia responded as she rolled her eyes. "What?" Finn said as he cocked his eyebrow. "The inevitable round of twenty questions." Nadia giggled. "Hey, I'm just making small talk"! Finn says a with smirk. "So, is it a crime to get to know you?" He continued. Nadia sighed as smile spreads across her face.
Then, she finally gave in. "I'm originally from Greece." She replied. Finn raises his brows and eyes widen in surprise. "Now, that, I wasn't expecting." He chuckled and Nadia joined in. "Well, I guess I'm just full of surprises." She jokes. "What city?" He asked. "Patras." She responded. "Nice." He said with a smile. "Be honest, you thought that I was going to say Athens." She said with a giggle. "I totally did not!" He stated with a laugh. "Oh yeah?" Nadia playfully questioned. "I mean, just because someone says they're from Greece doesn't exactly mean they're from Athens. There is other cities you can be from." He said with a chuckled. "Like what?" She said as she stopped in the middle of the hall folding her arms.
Finn stops and walks up to her. "Are you trying to test me on my geography skills, Nadia?" He asked jokingly. "Maybe, maybe not." She said with a smirk. "Well, as much as I'd liked to name all the wonderful cities of Greece, we've have more important business to attend to." He chuckled and continued to walk as Nadia followed.
A few moments later, they arrive at the dorms and find the RA without any issues. Students are everywhere as they began to unpack and move into their new homes- well, their new homes for at least the next 4 to 5 years.
Everyone that passes greets Finn as he steps to the RA's desk. "Donna!" He says making her turn around from a student she was helping. "Well, if it isn't Finn Fitzgerald! Nice to see you again. How was your summer?" She asked as she walked towards him and Nadia. "Oh you know, football, football, and more football." He stated as he counted on his fingers. "You know how my dad is." He continued with a shrug.
They walk with her as she gets behind her desk and gets settled. "So, who's the lovely lady?" Donna asked pointing to Nadia. "I'm Nadia." She responded stepping in front of Finn to shake her hand. "We have been looking for you everywhere." Finn sighs as he shakes his head. "Well, here I am." She giggled taking her clipboard from her desk. "Okay, Nadia Brexwerry, right?" Donna asked in a professional manner.
"That's me." Nadia said with a smile. "Okay, your room number is 104." She said as she opened the desk drawer and handed Nadia her keys. "We already signed in your roommate and each of you have your own set of keys. If you need to ask a question or need assistance with anything, I'll be right at my desk." She said with a wink. "Thanks so much, Donna." Finn says with a smile. "No problem." She said happily.
Nadia and Finn head for room #104 and they sat the luggage in front of the door. "Well, looks like this is your place." Finn stated gesturing at the door. "Thanks again, Finn, and like I said before, you're a lifesaver." She said jokingly as he began to chuckle. "If saving anyone's life was as entertaining as this, then maybe I could save your life again, someday." He said as he put his hands in the pockets on letterman jacket. "Yeah, someday." Nadia said with a smile. They lock eyes for only a moment, until Finn abruptly looks away. "Well, I guess I'll see you around." He says as he pats her shoulder and starts to leave. "Yeah, see you around." Nadia says as she watches him leave.
"So, you're my new roommate?" A voice from behind startles Nadia and she spins around to find her new roommate standing at the door. The first thing that Nadia noticed about her new roommate, is that she looks like she step right out of Vogue magazine. She was incredibly gorgeous. "Oh...um...yeah!" Nadia stumbles and nervously smoothes out her clothes before introducing herself. "I'm Nadia. Nadia Brexwerry." She says shaking her roommate's hands. "I'm Sophia." The roommate states as she takes Nadia's hand.
"You need help with those?" Sophia points to Nadia's bags. "Yeah, thanks." She says as they both began to pick up her bags and enter the room. "Sorry if this is considered prying." Sophia begins as she sat Nadia's bags down on what looks Nadia's new bed. "But, what's up with you and Finn?" She questions with a slight giggle. "Nothing, he was just helping me find the dorms." Nadia explains. "And helping you with your bags, and walking you up to your room." Sophia said with a smirk. "Okay, now I feel like I'm being interrogated." Nadia says with a laugh.
Sophia sits down on her bed and smiles. "Well, I'm sorry that I just wanna know what your first impression of Andel Falls is." She said. "Well, I guess we'll just have to see when we officially start classes tomorrow." Nadia said sitting in front her. "So." Nadia starts as she begins to unpack. "As your new roommate, I'm entirely obligated to know at least the basic information about you." Nadia said with a giggle. "Well, where do I start?" Sophia began. "Let's see. I was born in England, I'm 23 years old, and I'm in my junior year." She stated. There's a slight moment of silence when she finishes.
"Wait, is that all?!" Nadia asks. "I mean, I can't tell everything about me on the first day, right?" She says with a sly grin.
Suddenly, there's a knock at the door. Sophia goes to answer it. As she opens the door, a girl appears on the other side and appears to be out of breath. "Mandy, what's up?" Sophia asked in concern. "Marie wants all the cheerleaders to come to field." Mandy said still trying to catch her breath. "Wait, like, right now?" Sophia asks as she grabs her cheer bag. "Yeah." Mandy says.
Sophia turns to Nadia as she heads out of the door. "Will you be okay unpacking without me?" She asks, guilt clearly showing on her face. "Um, yeah, I'll be fine." Nadia says with a sigh. "Okay, I'll see you later on tonight." She said as she shuts the door. Nadia continues to pack in silence.
"Sophia's definitely has the potential of being a closed book." She thought.
"Hopefully, making friends in Andel Falls isn't as hard I think it might be."
