Without it needing to be said, Isabel had humiliated herself on her birthday. Isabel, always known to be composed, couldn't believe that she had allowed herself to be presented to the better part of Chicago in such a way.
After a few hours of consciousness and a glass of water, everything that she said and did came rushing back making Isabel purple in the face with embarrassment.
Thankfully the Sterling had woken up alone and silently thanked the original vampire for not waiting around to tease her. At first she had questioned her sanity of whether or not the original had spent the night, but he had left a note.
Dearest Isabel,
Thankfully you did not die of hypothermia so I felt okay to leave you alone. Please never take pills from Stefan Salvatore again, spoiler alert; it doesn't work out well.
Though I would be happy to hold you again.
Fondly,
Klaus
Isabel turned bright pink over the note scrawled in his elegant handwriting before crumpling it up and throwing it to the opposite side of the room.

"Out all night, Niklaus. You whore," Rebekah teased as her brother walked into the dining room for breakfast.
"Shush, Rebekah," Klaus growled, sitting down at the the head of the table.
"I'm just kidding, Nik. But please tell me it was Isabel!" Rebekah squealed in an excited tone.
"Yes, do tell," Elijah chimed in, a mocking tone to his voice.
"Do you both want a dagger in you?" Klaus said, looking at the paper.
"Ouch, that hit my right in the feelings," Elijah continued to mock his brother.
"You have feelings for Isabel, Nik. There's nothing wrong with that," Rebekah said in all seriousness to her older brother.
"I don't care for that silly girl. You know what, I will be in my office," Klaus snapped, picking up the paper and his coffee before storming out of the dining room.
"That showed us, brother," Elijah dryly stated.
__________
"Miss. Isabel, a Rebekah Mikaelson is on the phone for you," a maid said as she entered the dining room where Jason and Isabel ate.
Taking the last bite of her grapefruit, Isabel shot the maid a smile before walking into the entryway where the phone sat in a table. Removing her big earring, Isabel set it on the table before bringing the phone to her ear.
"Hello?" Isabel answered, admiring her nails.
"It's Rebekah, can I interest you in some shopping this afternoon?" Rebekah's cheerful tone chirped.
"I would love too, I can pick you up if you like? Say around noon?" Isabel asked, glancing at the big clock seeing that it struck nine a.m.
"That sounds lovely, do you mind if I Elijah accompanies us? He needs a new suit," Rebekah asked.
"Of course, I will see you at noon," Isabel said.
"Bye, love," Rebekah said before hanging up the phone.
__________
Isabel knew where the Mikaelson estate was, she had driven past it many times but she had never drove past the gates and up the long, winding driveway.
The Mikaelson's lived on a large, elaborate state. They had bought the house from an older woman who never had any children to pass it on too. Isabel didn't like classifying people but had heard others say the Mikaelson's are 'new money', not born into it like the Sterling's.
But just the same Isabel liked them, she had elaborate things but didn't need them necessarily. But she would be lying if she said she didn't enjoy them.
Isabel pulled her car up in front of the big house, honking the horn once and getting out to lean on the hood. After a few moments the big wooden doors opened revealing Rebekah and Elijah.
Rebekah squealed at the sight of her friend, hugging her before admiring her and the car. Isabel's car was a bright yellow shade with flashy white wheels while Isabel was dressed in a black dress and heels with a yellow beret and gloves that matched her car perfectly.
"Don't you look darling," Rebekah grinned, kissing Isabel's cheek once more.
"Thank you, you look lovely as always," Isabel said and it was true, Rebekah was dressed in an emerald green dress with a black ribbon in her curly blonde hair.
"Hello Elijah, i'm glad you're joining us," Isabel smiled, kissing his cheek in greeting.
"I as well," Elijah said politely.
"Did Niklaus not wish to join us?" Isabel asked politely and Rebekah exchanged a look with Elijah.
"He's in a mood, shall we?" Rebekah quickly changed the topic as Elijah opened the driver's door for Isabel.
__________
"Dear god, Isabel. Who taught you to drive?" Rebekah gasped as Isabel parked her car in front of a mens boutique since Elijah wanted a suit.
"What do you mean?" Isabel said in a surprised tone, no one had ever commented on her driving before.
"You are a terrible driver, you almost killed someone!" Rebekah gasped and Isabel rolled her eyes.
"Please, they came out of nowhere," Isabel said, getting out of the car and tucking her keys in her purse.
Elijah discussed fabrics with the shopkeeper and tried on a few suits while Isabel and Rebekah leisurely looked around at a few things.
Every time someone passed the window they would glance at Isabel and plainly be talking about her behaviour at her party making Isabel sigh in annoyance.
"It's alright, love," Rebekah comforted her friend.
"I don't care, let them say what they want. So why didn't Niklaus join us?" Isabel asked, eager to change the topic.
"He's in a mood, he drank to much last night," Rebekah lied, "Why didn't Jason come along?"
"He was busy with meetings today," Isabel explained, running her fingertips over the different fabrics.
"Shame," Rebekah said just as Elijah walked over holding a bag.
"I'm done," he said making Isabel smile at him.
"Finally," Rebekah snapped, exiting the shop to go to a women's boutique.
"Such a patient girl," Elijah hummed making Isabel laugh and link her arm through his.
__________
"See? I'm slowing down so your old hearts don't get all riled up," Isabel teased as she drove back to the Mikaelson estate.
"Your wit amazes me," Elijah teased back making Rebekah look between the pair curiously. Maybe they were just being friendly but they seemed rather flirtatious to Rebekah.
"Today was lovely, doll," Rebekah said as Isabel pulled to a stop in front of their house.
"It was, we should do it again some time," Isabel smiled, kissing Rebekah on the cheek and giving Elijah a sideways hug.
Just as soon as Elijah and Rebekah were out of the car, the doors to their home swung open to reveal Klaus and a half dressed girl who kissed him square on the mouth.
Isabel's eyes widened for a moment when they met Klaus's but she quickly regained composure, giving him a tight-lipped smile and driving off.
"See? I don't care about her," Klaus snapped at his siblings.
