The museum last night had been a bust, after coming across frightening statues of their parents (Maia and Carlos made sure they would never forget mothers day again), the five found the wand. Except, it was surrounded with a security barrier and not a magic one. When Jay stupidly tried to grab it, he set off all the security alarms so they had to run.
Now here they were, in Remedial Goodness class 101 with fairy Godmother teaching because Jay made a stupid decision. Maia was sat behind Evie and Mal with her head on the desk. It was the most boring thing she had ever done. But Maia, like Mal, had learned that the answer to Fairy Godmother's questions were usually the most boring answers. For example:
"If someone hands you a crying baby do you A, curse it? B, lock it in a tower?" They all laughed and looked at Maia," C, give it a bottle? or D, carve out its heart?"
Evie's hand shot up and Fairy Godmother smiled at her. "What was the second one?" Evie asked innocently.
"Oh, okay, anyone else?" Fairy godmother sighed.
"C, give it a bottle." Maia called out in a sleepy voice and Fairy Godmother nodded.
"Well done Maia!"
Carlos looked over at her and Mal. "You two are on fire today!" He said to the sisters.
"Just pick the one that doesn't sound any fun." Mal told him. The other three had a look of realisation on their face.
Just then, a girl with short brunette hair walked past them with a short run and a squeal. "Hi," Jane, Fairy Godmother's daughter, said. "You need to sign off on dismissal for the coronation."
"Everyone here remembers my daughter Jane?" Fairy Godmother stated as she signed the paper.
"Mom, no!" Jane whispered out of clear fear.
Fairy Godmother handed the clipboard back. "Jane, this is everyone."
Jane was pushed forward by her mother. "Hi," She greeted in a shy voice, Maia could barely hear her. "That's okay, don't mind me. As you were."
She squealed as she ran past them, out of the room and Mal looked back at Maia with a calculating smirk on her face. She was up to something, and Maia wanted in.

Maia got the fright of her life when she closed her locker and Ronan was standing right behind it. "Hey." He said.
She rolled her eyes. "Hi." She greeted back.
"So how was your first day?" He asked as they began walking together.
She thought for a minute. "Surprisingly...okay. But I think you mean how was Remedial Goodness 101."
"You caught me, how was it?" He questioned.
"Boring as hell," Maia scoffed. "The key was that I had to choose the most boring option to answer the question."
"Oh really?" He asked in amusement. "And what was the most boring option?"
She looked at him with a blank face. "If someone hands you a crying baby I don't lock it in a tower, I give it a bottle."
"Wow that's hard, I can see how tempting it would be to just lock it in a tower. Your mother would know wouldn't she?" He joked but she didn't answer. "Sorry that was rude."
"No, no it's okay. It's true," She shook her head. "I saw you at tourney practice, by the way."
He grimaced. "You saw me getting knocked down by Jay?" He asked in embarrassment.
She burst out laughing. "I saw everyone getting knocked down by Jay," She replied. "You'll have to get used to it, he is very aggressive."
"Carlos wasn't into it though, he seemed a bit, I don't wanna say-"
"Fragile?" Maia suggested and Ronan nodded. "He always has been, I suppose. But be careful, he can be pretty mean when it comes down to it."
They walked in silence for a minute. "Hey-" Ronan began but Maia cut him off.
"Why is everyone looking at us?" She questioned quickly and he looked at her in confusion. "All the time we've been walking, everyone has been watching us."
Lilah suddenly came up behind Maia, wrapping an arm round her shoulders. "That's because they're all in love with Ronan and they're jealous that he's talking to you when he doesn't so much as bash an eye lid at them." She informed Maia quickly who nodded.
Ronan scoffed. "They're not in love with me," He denied. "I've gotta go, see you girls later." He winked at them as he walked off and Maia felt herself blush.
"Are you blushing?" Lilah giggled.
"No," Maia quickly denied. "Have any of them ever...dated him?" She questioned innocently.
"Nope. Not a single soul," She told Maia truthfully. "No matter how many times any of them asked, he always said no. We don't know why, he just did."
Maia felt her stomach relax for some reason, she didn't like the feeling she was getting. "I've got Art now, I gotta go. I'll see you later?" Lilah nodded as Maia walked off.

As Maia was walking out of art class, Mal had grabbed her arm and dragged her into the toilets where she immediately spotted Jane, Fairy Godmother's daughter. Maia didn't know what her sisters plan was, but she would go along with it anyway.
Jane looked at them in fear when the girls walked in. "Hi!" Maia and Mall said together.
"It's Jane, right?" Maia remembered with faux confusion. "That's cute, I always loved the name Jane."
"That's cool." Jane replied with a shaky voice and began to leave.
"Don't go!" Mal yelled before quietening her voice. She put of a face of fake sadness and gestured to herself and Maia. "I guess, we were just kind of hoping to make a friend." Maia nodded, having no idea where this was going.
Maia continued, "You probably have all the friends you need though, right?"
Jane shrugged. "hardly."
"Really?" Mal repeated with more fake sadness. "I mean, with your mom being fairy Godmother and Headmistress? I mean not to mention your own..."
"Personality and looks." Maia finished when Mal couldn't think of anything. Jane was being to smile.
"I'd rather be pretty," Jane admitted before blurting. "You two have really great hair!"
The two sisters gasped and looked at each other. "You know what? Mal has just the thing for that." Maia told her.
Mal opened her spell book quickly. "It's right...here!" She found the spell. "Beware, foreswear, replace the old with brand new hair." Mal flicked Jane's head right, left, up and down.
Suddenly Jane had long, curly hair, styled beautifully. They all looked at her hair in the mirror. "Wow," Maia exclaimed, the girl really did look pretty.
"Yeah, you almost don't notice your...other features anymore!" Mal continued.
Jane started tapping the spell book. "Do my nose!" Jane told her, overexcited about the makeover.
Mal and Maia looked at each other. "Oh, we can't." Maia told her in fake sadness.
Mal nodded and carried on. "I've been practicing but, you know, I can't really do big magic."
"Not like your mom," Maia continued. "With her wand! I mean, one swoosh from that thing and you could probably have whatever features you wanted."
"She doesn't use the wand anymore," Jane complained. "She believes the real magic is in the books. And not the spell books, regular books with history and stuff."
Mal scoffed. "What a rip."
Maia sighed. "You know, she used magic on Cinderella, who wasn't even her real daughter." Maia planned on hitting close to home. "Does she even love you?"
"Well of course she does, it's...it's just you know, tough love," Jane told them. "'Work on the inside, not the outside.' That sort of thing."
"That's the face!" Mal exclaimed when Jane pulled a face of disappointment and sadness. "Yeah, and then just look as if your heart was about to break. 'Oh mother, I just don't understand why you can't make me beautiful too.'"
Jane looked between the two girls. "You think it would work?" She asked hopefully.
"Yeah," Maia laughed. "I mean, that's what old Cindy did isn't it? And your mom bibbidi-bobbidi boo'd the daylights out of her. And hey, if your mom decides to break out the old wand...invite us!"
Jane smiled brightly. "If I can convince mom, you're so there."
They watched as Jane walked out the bathroom quickly. "We're evil." Mal laughed.
