Activity 1: Write A Letter To Yourself
Hello again, Beautiful People!
How many times have we wished we did or saw things differently back when we were just starting out on our writing journey? Perhaps it was a writing experiment gone wrong or a trope/idea/POV that you weren't able to write successfully, yet you're a master at it now. But truth is, many writers are more often than not harsh on their younger self.
Write a motivational letter to your younger writer self. Maybe you'd like to give them some encouraging words and let them know how great of a writer they become, that you're proud of every single word they've written down and every challenge they've overcome. Perhaps you'd like to share a few tips that you've learned along the way that would help them a great deal.
You can write anything you want in that letter. Imagine yourself as the wise, older sibling encouraging and motivating your younger sibling (AKA you as a baby writer).
Write in the comment section a letter to yourself that you wished you could have received when you were just starting out as a writer. Imagine what type of support, encouragement, and motivational words you'd wished to hear. At the end of engagement week, your letters will be featured in our upcoming anthology containing this event's activity entries!
