Prologue: Rememberance
It was a cold night within the kingdom of Nohr. All the residents were inside their homes within said kingdom as several groups of royal soldiers were outside the borders either fighting in battlefields or moving to the next city to raid and conquer.
No one's POV
It was rather peaceful at the castle of Nohr. The castle is known as Krakenburg, and is the seat of the royal family in Nohr. It is located within a walled pit inside the capital city of Windmire and serves as the residence of King Garon and his children Xander, Camilla, Leo, and Elise.
Within the hallways of the castle, a lone male was walking down the hallways. It was none other than the rather infamous minion of the King known as Iago.
He seems to have a calm look with a small smile on his lips as he walked, humming a quiet tune to himself. He continued to walk for several minutes before reaching the large doors to the King's throne room. He lets himself inside and soon enough saw the King of Nohr, King Garron, sitting on his throne as usual.
(Sorry for the weird image, didn't know how to describe the room.)
Iago stops upon being a few feet away from the King of Nohr before kneeling in His Majesties' presence and bowing.
"My Lord..." Iago starts, getting a low rumble from King Garon. "Prince Xander and Princess Camilla were successful in capturing their assigned villages. All civilians who protested were disposed of swiftly by their blades."
"..." Slowly, a small sinister smirk grew on the King's old and grey face. "Good. Have the soldiers create outposts nearby and tell my children to move onto the nearby villages. Send more troops to the unclaimed villages to await their orders."
Iago nods as his smile grew. "Of course, sir! I'll inform them immediately!"
Just as the King was pleased by the information just given, he remembered a certain someone. Upon remembering, his smirk faded, and returned to his grumpy old self.
"And what of Corrin? Did he do as I ordered?"
Just like his boss, the smile on Iago's face fades and he looks up at King Garron with a somewhat nervous look. "N-no... While he did manage to seize his assigned village. It appears that he didn't kill any of the rebel soldiers or protesters...again..."
"..." Garron scowls at the news and growls lowly. As he did, he balls his hand into a fist and slams it on the resting arm of his throne. "That child..." He mutters under his breath. Standing up, he walks over to the window behind his throne and looks at his kingdom with his hands behind his back. "Remind him that it's his duty to kill all who oppose us or do it yourself. It doesn't matter who they are. If anyone tries to defy my ruling, they must be dealt with immediately. They cannot live and start a rebellion."
Iago nodded as he stood up as well. "Of course... It will be done, My Lord..." He says while looking down at his feet. His face scrunches up as he felt his blood begin to boil. "Stupid brat..." He whispers to himself. After, he tried to compose himself while staring back at his king. "And one more thing I forgot to add." He says, speaking up to be heard.
"?" King Garron turns around with an annoyed look, clearly starting to lose his patience. "What?" That was all he said.
Seeing his reaction, a drop of sweat forms on Iago's face. "I-it's nearly that time of year... T-the seals are starting to weaken... Should we restrengthen them, or finally take him out...?"
"..." King Garron fell silent to Iago's words and seemed to have gone into his thoughts, looking to the side for a moment. As he did, Iago stared at him with anticipation, waiting for his master to speak. Though as time went on, he started to feel nervous. That was until the King finally spoke after a few minutes and looked back at his minion. "Do as you want. That "boy" has done nothing but waste my time and resources. He's shown no signs of breaking after so many years of extreme torment. I can't control him like my children, so he's worthless. If you wish to dispose of him, do so quickly before he could break free."
Iago's smile returns to him after hearing Garron's order. He lets out a happy gasp before nodding. "Of course! He'll be dealt with as soon as possible!" He says as he stood up. After, he bows again and turned to walk out of the room, a sinister grin on his lips as he left.
As he left the room, King Garron watched in silence. Once he saw his minion leave the room, he turns back around to face the window again. He looks out to the kingdom's lights as he went deep into his thoughts.
Meanwhile...
Somewhere far away from the kingdom, on top of a mountain range that raised nearly as high as the clouds, stood a lone tower. Surrounding it, dozens of Nohr soldiers were patrolling the area. They all wore special black armor that appeared to resemble dragons which gave them a menacing appearance.
...
Within the tower, a soldier holding a bowl of soup was walking up a flight of stairs. The stairs soon end and he was now walking down a hallway towards a pair of guards standing beside a massive metal door. When he walks up to them, he nods his head, causing the duo to nod back. After, the one on the right steps back and pulls on a lever behind him. This causes the metal door to slowly open as chains could be heard moving between the walls. When the chains could no longer be heard and the door was fully open, the guard holding the bowl enters the room as the other two stood at attention.
Upon entering the room, he quickly noticed that the room was pitch dark. There weren't any windows or candles that allowed light to enter, only the light coming from the door behind the guard. Not only that, but the room was relatively small, only being large enough to be considered a cell. And it was true. Because a few feet in front of him was a male chained against the wall by his ankles, wrists, waist, and neck. His wrists were hung over his head as the chains around his neck were connected to the other chains to the roof as well. The chains around his body seemed to have faint red magical symbols engraved into them.
The male looks to be in his early twenties, wearing nothing but a pair of old, worn-out pair of brown pants. His body was extremely thin, his bones being clearly visible to the naked eyes. His skin was extremely pale too and could be mistaken as a ghost. His long silver hair went all the way down his back while having unkempt stubble on his chin. There was even a bit of golden strands of hair on the sides of his face.
Feeling the light touch his skin, he hisses softly while groaning in pain, trying to back away from it but couldn't due to the restraints. Because of this, he slowly lifts his head to stare at the guard in front of him, his yellow eyes appearing to be lifeless.
Seeing the state the male was in, the guard couldn't help but smirk as he kneeled near him to match eye level. "Hungry? It's warm~." The guard sang as he lifts the bowl up a bit to the male's face.
"..." The male doesn't say anything as he simply stares, causing the guard to scoff under his helmet.
"Better lighten up, kid. Iago is going to be visiting tomorrow. Hope he has the balls to finally finish you off so I don't have to look at your pathetic face anymore." The guards chuckle mockingly at the male, who still doesn't say anything. "Here, why don't you feed yourself?" As he spoke again, he casually tosses the bowl at the male, getting all over his chest and partly his face.
Due to the soup boiling, the male yelps and groans in pain as he struggles to break free from his chains again. The carvings on the chains glowed lowly which caused the male to scream in pain before struggling to now stay still.
The guard cackles in glee seeing the chained-up male suffer. As he did, he slowly stood up and spat at his face. "Better get used to it, freak! If Iago is going to kill you, I sure hope it'll be a lot more slower and painful tomorrow! And I'm going to be there, watching, while you scream for a quick death!" He says under the male's screaming.
When he was done, he turns around and walks out of the room, grinning widely. After stepping out, he nods to the guard standing by the lever again, who nods back before pulling the lever up. The door starts to close by itself as the male walks down the hallway and the duo stood guard.
"Good grief." The guard mutters while continuing to walk. "To think that a freak like him could ever scare King Garon in the slightest." He scoffs at the thought. "Oh well, it shouldn't matter anymore after tomorrow."
...
Back inside the room, the male stopped screaming and was now panting. He weakly looks up to the metal door as if trying to look past it and at the guard walking away. His face scrunches up as his hands clench tightly. His eyes faintly glowed red for the briefest moment as he clenched his jaw, revealing his canine teeth that were practically fangs. He starts to breathe heavily through his nose for a moment before the restraints on him glowed again. When they did, his eyelids started to feel heavy while his strength fades. He growls in annoyance as he tried to remain awake, but was becoming too weak to do so. It took only a few seconds before he could no longer hold his eyelids up and seemingly went unconscious. After, slowly, everything fades to black...
To be continued...
Hey, everyone! I deeply apologize for the delay! I've been trying to work on this chapter ever since the teaser was released, but I just wasn't motivated to write for a long time. And I also apologize for this being short. I really wanted to make it longer, but that just didn't work out. Though, hopefully, that changes now and next chapter! While I am going to be working on the next chapter, I want to update one or two other stories first. So, once those are taken care of, I'll return to this one! I hope you all can be patient with me! And I hope you all have a wonderful day/night. See ya.
Ps. Please let me know what you all thought. It's been a little while since I last played Fire Emblem, so let me know if I got anything wrong.
...
Somewhere at the opposite direction and near the outskirts of Nohr, within a forest, a lone woman stood underneath a large tree. This tree was different from all the others, standing out amongst them. Instead of having green leaves and brown wood, the leaves on this one were red and the wood was black for some unknown reason.
Underneath the tree, hiding in the shadows, the woman stared at a stone grave in silence. She wore black and gold armor and a black tiara over her purple hair.
She stared at the grave for some time, her purple eyes glued to it as everything around her and the grave seemed to almost disappear from her. After some time, she lets out a soft sigh as she looked solemnly at the words engraved on the stone.
"Y/n"
"A young boy who never gave up until the end"
The woman read the name over and over again, as if she didn't want to forget the name of the person who laid under the grave. After what felt like an eternity, she softly shook her head as she gently placed her hand on the grave, caressing it afterwards.
"My dear y/n...you were taken from me far too soon... I wish you could come back to me..." She whispers, her voice trembling a little.
Soon, she pulls herself away from the grave with a saddened look. Slowly, she turns around and began to walk away as she folds her arms under her chest. She lets out another sigh as she tried her best to not look back, knowing if she did she would never want to leave...
