The sun was at the peeking from the horizon and I still haven't slumbered. My eyes were cracked open to the time I was in bed till now. I didn't dare to close them as much as I advised myself that it was all just a dream from last night. There was just a sickening sensation in the pit of my beating heart that didn't wish to continue my nightmare. It was best to avoid to let my eyelids rest. I continued with the repetition of tossing from one side to the other, searching for the comfortable spot. I would as well stop for a drink of water or use the bathroom throughout midnight. I used small tactics like this for erasing the thought of slumber. It worked until now.
The red-orange light of dawn was bright enough to wake my partner, who now clung around my waist. Under the sheets, our legs were tangled. I stood as stiff as a soldier, unaware of what movement to make. My body winced beneath Sangwoo's shifting muscular arms. He roamed his hands toward my chest. He must've felt my beating pulse under his palms. I tried to relieve myself from my horrific fantasy. It's just a dream and this is the real Sangwoo. The Sangwoo that loves you and would never hurt you. My heart collapsed on him. My thumbs experimentally rubbed against his soft skin. Slowly, I received back the loving aura of my partner.
I felt the dirty blonde's breath puff on my shoulder as he spoke. "Are you ready for your Italian dinner tonight."
"Yeah." I murmured.
He pulled me towards his muscular body. But, in a single hand gesture, he was managed to turn me over, facing him. Innocently smiling, I stared at his lustful eyes. His fingers wrapped my tiny wrist, resting it on top of his cheek. It lingered there. "I love you." He stated boldly. "I love you too." I echoed his admiration. Sang's lips kissed my wrist and caressed it with his fingers.
Soon enough dawn quickly turned into night. The hanging moon above replaced the sun and the sky was painted black with illuminated stars. The city glittered with street signs, buildings were built taller, and tourist had more opportunity to sightsee the appealing cities of Korea. I was stunned on how the ravishing city glowed. Sangwoo's vehicle was going at a fast pace, so I wasn't able to spot the majority of its beauty. Yet, I knew nothing would pass the exquisite Italian restaurant I have been gawking over for a month now. I was fortunate to be visiting a place like that and as Sangwoo as my date.
The dirty blonde took the key out of the engine, heading out his door. Before my hand was able to reach the handle, the entrance was wide open thanks to Sangwoo. My lover stretched his palm towards me. Embracing it, he pulled me out the high-class car with swiftness. He secured the vehicle then overlapped his arms under mine. I was aware of the attention Sang was grabbing as we strolled to the restaurant. A caught a group of girls batting their eyes and flipping their hair. As well as a grown woman with what had seemed her spouse flirting with Sangwoo from behind. It must've been the way his hair was flicked back, revealing his ungnarled forehead that captures attention. Or was it his draped jacket that wrapped around his muscles? Maybe the erotic cologne he bathed himself in did the job. I wasn't sure if the dirty blonde had regard these actions, but I loathed it. Gripping my arm tighter against my lover we continued walking.
"I have a reservation for Oh Sangwoo." Spoke the strong voice of Sangwoo to the man on the podium. My chin lifted up glancing at that sign. Each individual letter was washed in a bright gold color that read, Venezia Cucina Italiana.
"Please follow me, sir." The employee directed me. Sangwoo and I tagged along with the worker until we found our ideal seats. We decided to stay inside since bugs would suck on us out there. The table the employee chose was in the middle of the sea of tables. It was fairly empty, so we didn't mind. A young hetero couple sat across from us followed by a few businessmen dining, a family with two kids and a batch of ladies in their mid-30s in the other corner.
Being a gentleman, Sangwoo pulled the chair for me before sitting down. I smiled, placing my bottom on the pillow cushion. Sang sat across from me and winked. I didn't notice that the worker left since I was so fixated by my lover's lustful eyes. I snapped back to reality discovering the elegance of art the table behold. It was draped with a beige cloth, a napkin folded twice with a fork and a knife and an empty cup on either side finally there were two menus. The centerpiece was a beautifully lit candle. I inhaled the caramel aroma that the candle sent. A pleasant vibe was all I received back. The Italian restaurant was exquisite enough for pairs of chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Good thing I dressed my finest for this occasion. A simple blue tux, a faint touch of cologne and I even placed my bangs to the sides.
"You're so excited to be here, huh."
My chin lifted towards Sang's smirking face. "Heh, yeah." I stammered, biting my lip. My eyes wandered off again. "It's such a beautiful place that I still can't believe you actually took me here!" Smiled I.
His face quickly turned solemn. His eyebrows furrowed and stared deep into my soul. "It doesn't matter how much I spent. Just enjoy yourself and have fun." He ended grinning. Sang's eyes fixated back on his menu. I followed, grabbing one for myself.
My mouth watered just scanning through the appealing pictures of displayed food. I made an effort of not glancing at the prices of the food just like my boyfriend wished. Therefore, I picked the Fettuccine Alfredo.
"Hello gentlemen's, my name is Ji Eun," Said the brunette. Eun lifted a notepad and pen from her pocket. "Is there anything you would like to drink?" She asked, smiling. Before my mouth was able to produce a sound, Sangwoo bumped in. "Two cup wines would be perfect." I raised an eyebrow.
"Have you gentlemen's decided what to eat for this evening?" Questioned she. "I'll have the Fettuccine Alfredo," I said. "And I'll have," The dirty blonde skimmed through the menu while stroking his invisible beard. "Stuffed Calamari in Tomato Sauce for me please." Sangwoo closed the menu handing it over. I followed next. Eun took the menus, walking away.
I wished to explore more of the exquisite Italian restaurant but the warmth of my boyfriend's hand overlapping mine caught me. We began to chat as we gaze each other's eyes. Brainstorming ways to live in a better future. A house with a backyard would be the dream for us both. One with a long driveway, geometric figures that defy gravity, wooden floor boards replaced with marble all on an isolated land. It was a fantasy we have dreamed of for months, yet never came to a conclusion. I sipped my rich in red liquor. The alcohol tickling down my throat. The lack of jobs we have makes our fantasy farther than it already is.
The young petite waitress interrupted with steamy scrumptious dishes. Licking my lips, I stared at my Italian food. The Fettuccine Alfredo oozed with cheese, forming a smooth coat on my pasta. Something so simple and costly was finally at my fingertips and I was more than ready to devour it. Instead, I raised my chin. My boyfriend lifted his swirling cup of wine. I grabbed mine as well and clicked the cups.
I was only half-way when I started noticing something eerie. My vision blurred, making my dish a speckled spot. Then, I felt the room spinning. The alcohol was here to blame for. It caused the twister in my head. My ears ringed. Hell, how much it hurts! I looked to see my empty red wine, then back at Sangwoo.
The corners of his mouth appeared to be red. I shrugged it off, thinking it was his tomato sauce. But when the blonde lifted his hand I shrieked. Almost fainted. Sangwoo's hand trickled with more of the "tomato sauce" at his fingers. Droplets fell to the beige cloth. I concluded it the "tomato sauce" in reality was blood. I blinked again and smudges of blood covered his face. Splatters of the human liquid were on his perfect red jacket, almost blending in.
Achness from my head transported to my heart. My pulse quicker than before. I faced the same vicious Sangwoo from last night. I couldn't connect if it was real or not, I was to focused on his bloody hand. It went worst when he smirked wickedly. I knew worst was going to happen. Sangwoo's other hand reached for something beneath the table. He revealed to me, handing down to me. It was a pumping heart under his palms. A stream of blood slipped through the crevice of his fingers. The vileness gory figure haunted me. The dirty blonde rammed the heart into my trembling face. Attempting to block it away from me took effort, for he was stronger than he looked. "Take the fucking heart you bitch!" He bellowed. I shook my head furiously, trying to shove it back. "What are you? A pussy?"
My bottom lip quivered. Hearing profanity spurt out of Sangwoo's mouth angrily at me was new. I didn't wish to cry and surrender at the dirty blonde. I continued pushing with my lanky limbs. "P-Please, leave me al-lone." I murmured."Leave me alone!" I shouted once more.
I blinked and he was gone. The blood, wicked smirk and that eerie Sangwoo had vanished. The normal, sex appealing boyfriend of mine was eating his Stuffed Calamari in peace. My eye twitched. "Why are you staring at me like that?" He cocked his head, chuckling.
My weak hands touched the clothed table. The aching sensation of my head and heart I haven't felt. It was just the image of Sangwoo and the heart that implanted my brain. "I have to go to the bathroom," I said, walking running down to the restroom~
