Jimin and Jungkook have known of each other since middle school but their friendship started in college, which soon led to them dating. 

They eventually got married and were in the committed relationship for a while now, before they decided it was time to include a third person in their relationship 

And so they try to have a baby, after all they both loved kids

It's been months since they have been trying but nothing seemed to work. They weren't that worried enough to go to a doctor yet. They were both still young

One day, Jungkook's office has a party for the New Year. Jungkook and Jimin were enjoying their time together, till Jackson, Jungkook's arch rival in the company came over to talk to them. Jimin excused himself after a while, feeling uncomfortable in Jackson's presence. 

Jungkook hummed when Jimin excused himself. He himself could see Jackson lusting after his man.

Jackson and Jungkook were always in competition in the company. Their boss was a strict man, he was always looking to fire incompetent people and that caused Jungkook a lot of stress. The man was always under pressure of losing his job and Jackson only made it worse

"My son is 4 years and my youngest angel is 2 years…" Jackson gloats seeing his kids play with the other kids "...you guys have been married for a while right? Don't you want kids?" Jackson smirks. Jungkook just hums, his eyes watching the love of his life, play with the kids of his colleagues in the center of the room "....I remember Jimin being a sexy angel but he is getting chubby now … maybe that's why you are having trouble having kids…" Jackson comments making Jungkook look at him with wide eyes 

"What…" 

Jackson chuckles " ..it's pretty obvious with the way you and Jimin look at kids that you are ready for a family but there is also a longing look in your husband's eyes… something that tells me it's not because you guys haven't tried…maybe it's because he is fat now..." 

Jungkook is angry as he glares at the man "...don't ever call my Jimin fat!"

"Woah woah… take it easy man…" he smirks "...all I'm saying is you can have what I have …… my husband lost weight for our baby… maybe Jimin should too…" Jackson says before walking away 

Jungkook gulped as he watched Jimin with other kids. He wanted those kids to be theirs and for them to play with their own kids one day. Maybe Jackson was right? Jungkook wondered

Jimin pouts seeing Jungkook lost in thought at home. They were in bed but Jungkook was staring at the ceiling instead of pulling Jimin into a hug like he often does 

"What are you thinking about?" Jimin asks drawing circles on Jungkook's chest as he rested his head on it 

"I was just thinking how beautiful and happy you looked with the kids today…" Jungkook says as he wraps an arm around his husband, pulling him closer "...I hope to have that one day…"

Jimin smiles "...me too… I don't know when it will happen… we have tried so many times..."

"Maybe we will have kids if you tried to lose weight…" Jungkook wonders out loud 

Jimin has always been insecure about his weight. He was very chubby in middle school and had tried a lot to become the sexy version of the man he was today. Jungkook knew about this very well, then why was his husband discussing about this sensitive issue 

 "....you think I'm fat?" Jimin looks up to peek at the man 

"No no... it's not that…" Jungkook says looking down at the boy 

"Then why did you say that... I'm still in the normal weight range…" Jimin pouts

"You are not overweight but you are getting chubby…" Jungkook says making Jimin's heart clench "...maybe you should start exercising again and stop saying you are tired …. Maybe then  we can have 100% success…" 

Jimin is upset and hurt "...Only I have the problem? I'm the reason why we don't have kids?"

"We don't know that... All I'm saying is to reduce a bit…" Jungkook says a bit angry as he can see the hurt in his husband's eyes "...you don't want to go back to your high school chubbiness right?"

Jimin is quiet

" You really want me to?" Jimin's voice is like a whisper 

"Yea!" Jungkook exclaims unintentionally 

"Okay... I understand .. let's just sleep for now... don't stress about…" Jimin says softly 

"I'm not stressed!" Jungkook yells again

Jimin knows about the work pressures Jungkook has to face so  he keeps quiet 

"Let's sleep okay.." Jimin says hugging the man and Jungkook sighs hugging the boy back

Jimin had been feeling fatigued for a couple of weeks now, that's why he had stopped exercising and that's when his baby fat started appearing again. Jungkook was absolutely loving this beautiful chubbiness his husband had, that was till he let Jackson's words get to him

Now Jimin started exercising intensively and dieting. Somehow nothing seemed to work as well as it used to. 

"I just want to sleep…" Jimin groans after 50 sit ups 

Jungkook looks at him with a raised brow. The man was working on a project

"Tired already? You did like what? A 50? That's  it? You used to do 200 at a stretch…"

Jimin is hurt with the tone of Jungkook's voice. He knows Jungkook has a lot on his mind but he still wants the man to be supportive, not accusing him for their inability for having kids 

"...yea, you are right…" Jimin hides his pain in his smile as he continues exercising. Jungkook went back to working on his laptop 

Later

"...you really want to eat that after a workout?" Jungkook asks seeing Jimin dig into his bowl of snacks 

"Yea you are right I shouldn't"

"Jimin.. stop calling me… you know I had a meeting today…" Jungkook says finally answering the call after his meeting "..what's…"

"Sir?" The voice interrupts Jungkook. Jungkook looks at the phone in surprise. It was Jimin's number "...hello?"

"Yes, hello…" Jungkook says cautiously "...who are you? What are you doing with my husband's phone?" 

"You were listed as an emergency contact on his phone… sir.. please come to Seoul hospital. The owner of this phone had fainted and had been brought here by his co workers…" 

Jungkook's grip on his phone loosens

"What?!"

Jungkook paced up and down the hallway of the hospital, right outside the operation theater. 

Jimin had fainted during work and was brought here by his colleagues. Now Jungkook was waiting outside for the doctors and staff, operating on Jimin to give him some news. 

"Doctor! Please tell me what happened to my husband… my Jimin…" Jungkook asks the man who just came out of the OT

The man, an intern sent out by the doctor to talk to the husband, calms the taller down "Mr Jeon suffered a miscarriage... and went into shock…"

Jungkook's eyes widen "...Jimin…. He was pregnant?" 

"Yea ... he was pregnant for 2 months now.…."

"But the tests were always negative… we have been trying for a while now… we check the tests often .." Jungkook was still in shock as he interrupts the man 

The intern nods his head  "...a urine test could  be false negative in this rare kind of hormonal disorder. I guess he didn't know that he was pregnant and thought he was getting fat and so he overworked himself to lose weight… I'm assuming based on his blood works which  correspond to stress and undernutrition ...." 

Jungkook's eyes full up with tears "...Jimin… where is Jimin? Is he okay?"

 "...I'm sorry... but...Mr Jeon lost a lot of blood ... he is in shock … the doctors are doing everything they can to save at least Mr Jeon…"  

Jungkook's whole world collapsed hearing it. 

Of course, Jungkook is upset that he lost a baby he didn't know he would have, he was very much worried and scared about the outcome that would result from this - would he lose Jimin too?  But the worst was knowing he was the reason for this whole situation. He was the cause of his husband's pain and he knew he could never forgive himself for that

Jungkook waited, his heart in his throat,  for the doctors to tell him anything about Jimin

Once Jimin was shifted to the ward, Jungkook was allowed in 

"Baby…are you okay?" Jungkook's voice was a mix of anxiety and self regret 

Jimin hums as he slightly smiles at the man. He can read Jungkook like a book and that's why he keeps forgiving him. He knows his husband inside out 

"Stop blaming yourself… it's not your fault…" Jimin says softly making Jungkook fall onto his knees as he sobbed hugging the boy's tummy 

"I'm so sorry… Jiminie… I'm so sorry that daddy is a horrible guy.. both to you and your dadda…" Jungkook sobs broke Jimin’s heart. Jimin pats the man's head trying to make him look at him but Jungkook kept hugging his tummy "...I can't forgive myself Jimin … the past few hours have been haunting me… how could I do this to you?" Jungkook looks at Jimin,  his eyes full of regret "..... I am someone who knows you very well and I hurt you.... for what?" Jungkook cups Jimin's face "....Having a child is not more important than you, your health and happiness... if we have a child along our way  that's well and good... I can't imagine my life without you... I can't.... but I also can't be with you, knowing I caused you so much pain… you don't deserve that at all…" 

Jimin never got a word in 

"I'm sorry... I'm so sorry…because of me.. " Jungkook sniffles "...because of me... " Jungkook stands up to leave, he couldn't be there anymore. He couldn't face Jimin as he rushes to the door

"… don't go...please... I need you…" Jimin's heart broken voice makes Jungkook rush to his side as he pulls Jimin into his arms 

"Baby don't cry...please…" Jungkook  wipes the boy's tears "...please don't cry because of a man like me…" Jungkook's voice cracks "...I can't believe I was so selfish enough to hurt you like this .." Jungkook caresses the boy's cheek " ..the truth is I love you being chubby... you look cute and I... because of some jerk's comment...someone I don't even care about.... I let that get to me... why did I do that?"

Jungkook regrets everything 

"It's okay…"

Jungkook shakes his head "...no...It's really not…"

"It's okay, I  understand... you want to be the best in everything...that's how you are.... and when someone who you hate comments on things like these, you get triggered and you take it out on the people you love... I get it …"

Jimin wipes Jungkook's tears "...but I don't want to be like that..  I don't want to hurt you anymore…why do you still want to be with me?"

"Because I love you and I want to be with you...please don't leave us...we need you" a tear rolls down Jimin's cheek

"I won't leave ...." Jungkook is confused as he looks at Jimin "...us? We?"

Jimin smiles slightly ".... the doctor told me I had a threatened abortion... the baby is fine but I have to be careful…"

Jungkook's eyes widen as he hugs Jimin and sobs "...Oh God..  thank you...oh God…" Jungkook pulls back "..... I'm never leaving you or our baby... I'm sorry, I'm sorry .... I love you...." 

"I love you too" Jimin closes his eyes feeling Jungkook's lips move softly against his
