Chapter Twenty-Two.
Lillian wasn’t pay any attention in class since she was to busy in her own head. She wonders what kind of wedding she'll have. She knows it wont be a big wedding, she never wanted a big wedding but she imagine having a big yard wedding with lilac as a main color. She couldn't help herself be excited. She wonders what kind of dress her dress will be. The normal puffy? No, it'll be hot outside by since and she wants something comfortable. So maybe an A-line dress? Maybe it be sheath to.
She could just imagine Zane being almost three and in his cute little tuxedo on him.
She felt the person next to her grab her arm and shake her awake, “Lillian, wake up!”
She jerked and looked up from her book to see most of the class looking at her. She blushed when she realized her teacher been calling on her to answer a question.
“Sorry.”, Lillian said shyly.
…
Lillian walked over to Ryan table and all his friends looked excited as they hit and look like they were congratulating Ryan as she walked towards them. Ryan looked up at her when she was a few feet away and she turned away when all his friends looked at her.
She was ready to walk away, knowing this couldn't be no good.
But two of Ryan's friends got up and grabbed her, pulling her over towards Ryan.
“We heard the exciting news.”, Max said. “You guys are just so quick.”
“By what this idiot means, we're excited and happy for you both”, Dillon said.
“You guys never let me finished.”, Ryan said. “You guys are acting like we're getting married this summer?”
“Your not?”, Kurt asked, confused. “Why not?”
“A wedding takes time to plan and not to mention money.”, Lillian said. “A year and half would be enough time and we'll both be graduates.”
“Well I call being best man.”, Max said and all of Ryans friends starting arguing about who's going to be best man, making Lillian and Ryan laugh at them.
…
“So your actually going to do it.”, Duncan said as he looked down at the ring on her finger on.
Lillian pulled her hand away and blushed, “It wont be until I graduate.”, she said though she felt like she didn't need to explain herself.
“I think it's to early.”, Duncan said and she looked up at him confused. He cleared his throat, “I just mean, Lillian, you didn't feel any perssure into saying yes? I mean, who proposes while having someone else they that they hate?”
“Ryan really was going to propose to me.”, Lillian said, putting her defenses up. “The sooner the better.”
“Oh come on, Lillian.”, Duncan snorted and the librarian hissd them to be quiet. She had talked to Ryan yesterday about studying again and suggested they could go back to the library where other people are around.
Lillian sighed and adjusting herself in her seat, looking back down at her notebook, “I don't want to talk about this, Duncan. It's my life.”
“Your to young to get married though.”, he said.
Her head snapped up to look at him, “I was to young to become a mother and I think I'm doing a pretty good job.”
“Lillian, that's not what I meant.”, he said. “Most teen marriages end up in divorce, you should be smarter then this.”
“Like what?”, she asked, her voice hard. “Ryan and I will be fine and if we do—divorce, well, we at least tried. I don't care what you think, Duncan.”, she said, closing her notebook and grabbed her bag. “If your just going to be judgmental towards me, I'll just lea--”
He grabbed her arm gently and she looked at him, “No—that's not what I want you to think. I'm sorry—it's just surprising. I'm sorry, your right. I shouldn’t judge you, it's your life.”
She looked down at her bag and hesitated, but put her bag down and opened her notebook, “Can we just go back to study for Mrs. Blake test.”
{Ryan}
“Have a good night, sir.”, Ryan said as he placed the check on the man table.
The man nodded and Ryan left to go check to the other table. It was his first day at the restaurant in the hotel and he was trying to get use to the whole new scenery. He has gone through two tables already and was happy with the tips. It surprised him, he should have worked in a hotel life the Hotel Carina, one of those fancy expensive one the whole time.
Maybe it was his smile, personality, or just plan out good luck to get it cause when he got the application they told they weren’t hiring but he must have impressed the manager who was a female.
He worked until nine and he walked over to his car. He checked his phone before leaving. Lillian had text him asking if he could buy some more formula and he rolled his eyes when he saw one from Hanna. He was seriously starting to think about blocking her.
But what he read caught his attention, If you don't come over, I'll hurt myself.
“Are you serious?”, he asked himself as he groaned and he turned his car. How'd he not known Hanna was crazier then he thought?
It took a moment before getting to her house. He saw her parents car wasn’t outside, but they were always never home cause they were busy working, leaving her and her brother home alone always. He parked his car and walked over to the door, knocking on it.
Hanna opened it and her face was stained with dry and new tears, “You asked her to marry you?”, she asked in disgust. “Are you crazy, Ryan? You're eighteen years old!”
“I see your alright.”, he said, walking towards her and she took a step back. “What is wrong with you, Hanna? Why would you want to freak me out like that?”.
She smiled, “You do care—“, she cut herself off when she reached out to touch him, but he pulled away.
“If your talking about hurting yourself, yeah! I would do it even I didn't know you. Hanna, you have to be kidding me, you shouldn't talk about hurting yourself like that.”, he said.
“You shouldn't think about marrying her!”, she said. “Your to young Ryan and marrying her would just be stupid! I wont let you.”.
“Just leave me alone.”, he said, turning around and he grabbed him, turning him around to face her.
“I had to give up to much to please other people, but I wont let you go. Is it because of Zane?”, she asked. She chuckled, “You wont leave Lillian because of Zane? Ryan, if that's the problem, you don't have to worry, I love Zane, he's an amazing boy. I would never want you to think you would have to choose me over him—“
“Hanna, what are you talking about?”, he asked. “That's not the reason, the reason is I love Lillian and that's why I wont leave her.”
“I've had crush on you for a long time, why couldn't you ever notice?”, she asked and he brought his hand up to his face and ran it down. “I have wanted to be your girlfriend for a long time, but I was just to shy to ever admit it. I stood by and watched you be with all your girlfriend until I realized that I didn't want to watch anymore.”
“Hanna, you'll find someone else. Your a pretty girl.”, he said. “But like you said, we've known each other for to long and I don't see you like that.”
“Please don't marry her.”, she said and new tears went down her face. She reached up and pulled the sleeve of her shirt up, reveling deep scratches on her arms, “You'll only make it worse.”
He reached out and grabbed her arm, “Hanna! This is crazy!”
“Don't call me crazy!”, she hissed as she pulled her hand back. “My grandmother was crazy, I wont let you call me that.”.
“Hanna, I wasn't—“
“And what about her friend Duncan?', she asked. “You told me they kissed and yet, you stayed with her?”
“He kissed her.”, he said.
“Yeah and I’m the queen of England.”, she snorted.
He was getting tired of this, there was no way talking to her. He turned around and left, but she ran up to the door and blocked him. “Move, Hanna.”.
“Not until you talk to me some more.”, she said. “Hear me out, Ryan. I didn't say anything to Lillian Friday but I could tell her we kissed.”.
“You kissed me!”, he said, his voice hard.
“Who would she believe?”, she asked. “She's so self-conscience and insecure about herself she'll be quick to believe me.”
“Hanna!”, he said. “Why would you do that?”
“Just give me a chance!”, she said, sounding like she was begging. “I could be the perfect girlfriend.”
He wanted to say he didn't want her to be his girlfriend, but he had a feeling he would just make things worse by saying that. “Hanna—even if I would break up with Lillian and become my girlfriend, I wouldn't stop thinking about her. I wouldn't be a good boyfriend cause I didn't love you like that.”
Her eyes sparkled, “So you do love me.”
Oh, my God, she didn't even hear a word I said!, he thought as he groaned.
“Hanna! Listen, it would never work between us! I do love you, but as a friend, not how I love Lillian.”, he said.
The sparkle left and she pressed her lips together angrily. She put her hand on the knob and opened it, “Get out of my house, Ryan.”.
He scuffed, not believing her. He was trying to fight himself to get out and it was her to kick him out? Kind of hurt his ego, but he was more then happy to walk out the door and Hanna slammed the door behind him.
