Chapter Twelve.

“Come on, Lil,”, Ryan said, pulling her towards him and wrapped his arms around his waist.

She chuckled and turned her head away from his puppy eyes, “I don’t know Ryan, I’m still not a huge fan of parties.”, she said, trying to avoid her best from going to Madison after party. It was only meant for the seniors to go, but since Lillian is Ryan date, she could go. She didn’t like parties last year and she sure doesn’t like them this year. She looked back at him, “Even, you know what seems to happy when we’re together at parties.”.

“I think Zane could enjoy a sibling, don’t you?”, he asked, raising an eyebrow, but she knew well enough he was only joking.

“Not even funny, unless you’re the one that wants to carry it.”, she said, playfully hitting his chest.

“But serious, lets go! You said you wanted to have fun tonight, so lets go have fun for one night.”, he said, almost begging. “Do you really want to go home and do what? Sit in bed and walk those bad SyFy movies?”.

“Hey! You know I likes though.”, she said. She then thought about it and knew he was right, she didn’t want tonight to be over. She wanted to have enough fun before it’s back to changing diapers and cleaning up puke. She then sighed, “Okay, okay, lets go.”

“Great!”, he said and they leaf with some of the other seniors that were leaving the dance early to go to the Madison party.

Madison family was very rich and her house, it was huge! Lillian couldn’t believe how big it was when they pulled up and their was already a lot of the senior class here and she’s sure some people who Madison probably doesn’t know.

“Jeez, what are her father? Governor?”, Lillian asked, admiring the house, a dream house of something she always wanted to live in.

Ryan chuckled, “No, both her parents are some kind of engineers, but they mostly never homes and Madison sets up these sleep over for her sibling to leave the house so she could have this party.”.

He parked the car and got out, walking up the short road up to the house. They went inside the gates and up to the party. For some reason, Lillian became shy again since most of the people she sees here didn’t go to the dance, they were knew people.

Oh great, she thought. They joined Ryan’s friends again and Lillian tried to keep a smile when she noticed Hanna was here to, but she seems to be paying attention to Dillon, but to her relief.

Lillian excused herself to get her self something to drink and she ventured off into the kitchen. She saw many people around a table of beer and alcohol, but Lillian made herself clear tonight she wont make a mistake by drinking again. Just water. She grabbed one from a cooler and drank half it down as she went back to Ryan, but she was surprised to find him gone.

“He went to go find something to drink also.”, Mark had told her.

Lillian nodded and awkwardly tapped her fingers against the bottle as she waited for Ryan to come back. She looked around and saw people drinking and dance everywhere playing from the loud Rihanna song. Most of these people she never talked to or she didn’t know.

Someone bumped into her and she turned, Ryan looking annoying and he pushed a guy next to him, “Hey, watch it.”, he said to him.

“You okay?”, she asked him.

“Yeah, stupid college guy just bumped into me.”, he said, bring the red plastic cup up to his mouth and coughed a little before taking another sip, joining a conversations with Mark and Elliot.

Lillian wasn’t sure if she should complain about Ryan drinking alcohol or not. She didn’t want to bitch at him and ruin his night, but she worried about how they were going to get home if he gets drunk. She only seen Ryan drunk once, he didn’t seem to out of control or anything though.

Ryan had slid his arms around her waist and brought her to his side. She chuckled a little when she realized a few college guys had been staring at her and she kind of liked him being jealous. It was cute.

Lillian was starting to loosen up a bet and she joined Ryan’s and his friends and their dates into a converstation about a up coming Maroon 5 concerts.

“You to should definitely come.”, Elliot said. “It’s in the Wortherton, so it should be really cool.”.

“Err, I don’t know, Elliot.”, Ryan said, shrugging. “That’s next week and I might have to work, I can’t call off.”.

“Just this once though? Come on man! Lillian, talk some sense in him. This is Maroon 5!”, he said.

“Ryan’s right.”, she said.

They all groaned, “Ya’ll are no fun anymore!”, Dillon said. “Ryan use to jump quickly when it came to concerts.”.

“Believe me, I would love to come!”, Ryan said. “But I’m a dad now.”, he said as he brought his free hand holding the cup up to his chest.

“But I’m sure your boss wont mind this one time!”, Mark said, turning to Lillian, “Come on, Lil! I’m sure your one of those girls who think Adam Levine is hot. And who knows! You might get to hug him, this is your once and life time chance!”.

Lillian chuckled at his way of begging, “I’m sure Maroon 5 and Adam Levine will come back, just hopefully when Zane’s older.”.

They groaned, sad about their friend not able to go to concert with them, but quickly changed a subject about football.

After awhile, Ryan had manage to drag Lillian out for a dance. She was to happy people were in their own dancing to pay attention to her and beginner dancing. Ryan had pulled her close to him and kissed her.

She pulled back, “Eh, you taste like…pineapple?”, she asked, giggling. “Not in a good way either.”.

“Just ignore it and kiss me.”, he said, kissing her again. She smiled and brought her arms up around his neck, quickly ignore how his lips tasted a little bit like pineapple rum.

She never imagined herself being one of those girls to kiss while dancing out these kind of parties. She could only imagine a girl like herself here, saying in her mind to get a room at her and Ryan. She giggled at the thought a little and felt happy.

“Yo man!”, a guy from school, a friend of Ryan said, pulling him away from Lillian and she almost tripped over her heels as he was. “You got to come with us and have some shots!”, he said and even before Ryan could say anything, he was whisked away.

She frowned a little, but she beezed herself around people to make it to the kitchen where she saw Ryan was dragged to. When she got there, she saw Ryan around a group of guys—probably five—and had one plastic beer shot in one hand and another two in his hour. They counted to three and very quickly, they shot down the three golden color liquid. Most of them made nosies and faces at how strong the alcohol was.

“They’re not going to be to happy in the morning.”, Hanna said as she came up next to her Lillian, a beer can in her hand. “Been here over an hour and still on my first one.”.

“Never drank before?”, Lillian asked.

She shrugged, “I had, but they were with some of my girl friends from school and it’s usually at one of our houses. I watched many teenage movies and know not to get stupid at these kind of things. How about you?”, she asked, looking at the water bottle. “Why aren’t you drinking?”.

“Oh, cause the last time I got pregnant.”, she said, trying to make a joke, but Lillian only made it seem a little awkward. She cleared her throat, “I’m not a big fan of drinking that much.”.

“Ah,”, she said. “Well Lillian, I don’t know if I told you tonight, but you look stunning.”.

“Thanks.”, Lillian said and scanned Hanna white and rose flower dance, “You look pretty to.”, she said as she brought her water bottle up to her mouth to take a sip.

“You know, Lillian, Ryan told me why he was trying to look for another job.”, she said and Lillian almost spit the water out her mouth as she brought her hand up to cover it, but she was safe.

Her head snapped to Hanna, “Huh? Oh, um—“.

She smiled and brought her hands up, “Hey, I get it. I would be freaking out if my boyfriend was spending so much time with another girl. I just want to let you know you have nothing to worry about Ryan and me.”, she said. “We’re friend, nothing ever going to happen more. Even, I had thought for a second we were friends.”, she said and Lillian flushed, completely embarrassed.

“Eerr, Hanna, I’m sor—“

“Hey, don’t apologize.”, she said. “I’m not mad or anything, no sweat.”.

She patted her back before walking over to Dillon side and Lillian turned away, wanting to slap herself. She didn’t know what to think now that she know what Lillian thought of her. She kinda was upset Ryan had told her how Lillian felt, but she guessing Hanna would have never tried to come up to her and tell her she has nothing to worry about.

“Lillian!”, she heard her name and looked up, seeing Duncan making his way over towards her and her eyebrows came together in confusion.

“Hey.”, she said, crossing her arms over her chest as she leaned against the frame of the entrance to the kitchen. “What are you doing here? I thought only seniors could come in.”.

“I know my ways.”, he said, grinning and winked at her. Her eyes opened a little in shock, seeing he was drunk. She wonders how long he had been here.

“Like?”, she had asked.

“I made out with Madison, who knew she was cougar.”, he said, chuckling, but Lillian didn’t really find it funny and Madison was only a year older then them. When he realize she didn’t find it funny, he stopped chuckling and cleared his throat, “I’m friends with people on the football team, they let me come with them.”.

“Is Emily with you?”, she asked, looking around for her.

He shook his head, “Nope. She didn’t want to come since I was riding with most of the guys and they had a little bit of beer with them.”

“A little?”, Lillian had asked. “Duncan, you look completely smashed.”.

He shook his head, “Nah, I’m fine! Perfect, actually. But hey, you never did save me a dance!”, he said, taking her hand, “Let do it now!”.

When he tried to pull her out to dance, she stood her ground, “Wait, no.”, she said and he looked at her surprised. “I mean, Ryan wouldn’t like it and we’re getting alone. Sorry.”.

“Oh.”, he said, seeming a little disappointed. But only for a moment before his eyes lighten up, “Okay, I have an idea! Lets go somewhere at least a little more quiet, we didn’t get to talk much at the dance.”.

She didn’t know if it was a good idea or not as she turned her head around a little to see Ryan chugging down some beer with friends. She didn’t want to stand here all night, watching him get drunks. She turned back to Duncan, “Okay, sure.”.

They went down a hallway where not a lot of people were around and Lillian leaned against the wall, “Sooo….”, she said, trying to think of what to say. “How was the dance? Emily as great dance as she is at cheerleading?”, she asked.

He chuckled and ran his hand through his brown curly locks, “She’s good…but I don’t wan to talk about her.”, he said. “Or the dance.”.

“Oh.”, Lillian said, sounding a little surprised. “What do you want to talk about then?”

He stepped towards her and her back straighten, trying to put some space between them since they were kind of to close, “About how beautiful you look tonight.”, he said, putting his hands on each side of her onto the wall.

Her cheeks blushed hard, “Oh, um, thanks Duncan.”, she said, trying to move his left arm, but it didn’t move.

“You always look beautiful though.”, he said, his head moving closer to her and her heart starting beating fast, but not in a way Ryan does. This one was because she was afraid he might kiss her. He wouldn’t do that though, right? Why would he kiss her anyways? Their just friends. “I couldn’t stop watching you tonight.”, he said.

“Duncan, what if Emily or Ry—“

“Shh.”, he said, shaking his head. “I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile.”, he said.

“Do—“, she didn’t get to finish before he had kissed her.

She was to shocked he actually kissed her. It didn’t last long, it was more of a peck on the lips before he lift his head a little and smile, “You get me, Lillian. I never thought I could meet a girl like you.”.

“Duncan, stop—“, she got cut off before he kissed her again.

This time she didn’t freeze or anything and she slapped his chest, pushing him away just a little. He seemed a little surprised, “Lillian—“

She brought her hand up to her mouth, “No!”, she said coldly to him, turning around and walked away, not believing he had the nerve to kiss her! Again for that sakes! Then guilt quickly build up inside her and she felt like a bad person! She had let someone kiss her and it wasn’t Ryan!
