6. Expressionism of art

Jimin stepped out of the hotel for the first time in weeks. There wasn't much populace around him, only a few restaurants and patrons, singing and strumming outside the small cafes. His stroll was steady as he basked in the magic of the streets. By the lake, he stopped to look at a man drawing on a canvas with oil paint. The picture intrigued him. It was of a woman who looked to be in her youth.

"That's quite an imagination," he complimented as his legs trudged him through the crowd that was watching the man paint. The painter turned around, seeing Jimin smiling. "Is she someone you know?"

"Actually," the omega pointed towards the corner of the alley where a man was standing under the quaint streetlight while holding a guitar. "He drew this. I am only filling colors."

Jimin's neck craned along with the painter to find an extremely beautiful omega busking — an omega he was falling for. "Jungkook," Jimin mumbled.

"You know Jungkook?" The painter asked in a surprising tone.

"I do," Jimin responded. "How do you know him?"

"I am his best friend, Taehyung." The omega replied cheerfully,  grinning now while wiping his hands on his clothes to extend them towards the alpha.

Jimin smiled, intrigued after finding someone who wasn't Jungkook's work colleague and had probably known him for a long time. "Nice to meet you, Taehyung," he grabbed onto the outstretched palm firmly. "If you'll excuse me, I'd go say hi to Jungkook."

Taehyung's brows did a little dance as he tried to take in the sudden change in the alpha's expressions and the rosemary fragrance that hit him like a dump. "Sure."

He was shaking his head when the alpha suddenly scared him while jumping back in front of his face. "Actually... I was hoping you'd give me your number. I feel that we will get in touch soon."

This gave Taehyung a much-needed confirmation that Jimin was interested in his friend. He nodded while taking out his phone and handing it to the alpha to take his number. Jimin was quick because he was hyper to meet Jungkook. Taehyung watched as he walked away while raking his fingers through his hair.

Jungkook's eyes were on the screen, watching the scrolling lyrics as he serenaded. Every now and then, he would smile and bow his head a little when anyone would drop a bill in his guitar case. When Jimin bent down, he put all the cash in the omega's case that he was carrying, and waited for Jungkook to finish and look up.

Jungkook, on the other hand, didn't let Jimin wait for long. Just as his eyes fell on a thick stack, his round eyes whipped up, seeing the captivated alpha softly smiling at him. He gulped as his hands went frail. Slowly, the air passed over with silence as he stopped playing and singing.

"Sir, what are you doing?" The omega asked, bending down to grab his case and grabbing the bills that Jimin had put down. "This is too much."

Jimin's eyes squinted. "Why don't you keep it and do something in return for me?"

On the remark, Jungkook's eyes turned rounder. "W-what?"

"One coffee with me. That's all I need from you."

Jungkook sighed defeatedly, but he was still uncomfortable around the alpha after positively pushing him towards his death last night. "How are you doing now?" He asked and started walking towards the lake.

"Fit as a fiddle. You don't have to think about that," the alpha jumped closer, walking side-by-side with the omega while fixing his hands in the front pockets of his jeans. "Out of curiosity, why did you do it?"

"I am sorry. I shouldn't have done that."

"I said it's fine, Jungkook. I am just curious as to why you did that." The alpha rephrased his question with a mischievous trace of a smile on his lips.

"I wanted to see if you would try and... You know... Push yourself on me."

Jimin, who was smiling up until that point, stopped walking with solemnity plastering all over his face. Jungkook looked back and stopped too, waiting for Jimin to walk ahead. "It was very foolish of you to do that. What if I did do it?" Jungkook's lips were in between his teeth in the next moment as his head dipped down. The alpha inched closer to the omega again. "I am asking you something." He growled lowly.

The omega felt weak in the hands of his wolf who was willing to wither down. "I would have buzzed the alarm to call the security on you. My friend had a very bad experience and I wanted to ensure that you weren't just playing around as that one alpha did." He mumbled, eyes tearing up with how his veins were feeling the force of the alpha's command.

Jimin calmed himself, and so did Jungkook when he felt the seemingly invisible chains unclasping themselves from around him. "I know I can come off as a pervert or a flirt for some people. But I'd never be so upfront with anyone I don't like. I am an alpha male, omega. I can't control myself in many situations and having to become a beast in front of you is the least of my priorities. I might have accomplished the control, but I don't recommend you to do it with anyone else. You put yourself in danger last night. I would never harm you, but I can't say the same thing for anyone else."

Jungkook nodded, hating that he was feeling like warming up to Jimin just like that. How could he just trust the words of an alpha who he barely knew? Jimin rubbed his brow bone and exhaled while looking at the downcast face of the younger male. "Where do you live?" He asked in a bit softer tone.

"Nearby," the younger's head whipped up, wanting to gauge at Jimin's face to gain his expression.

"Let me walk you home." Jimin offered.

"But- Coffee?" The omega asked innocently, pointing towards a cafe across the lake.

"Rain check on it. But I will take you out definitely. Let's go."

Jimin's hand gently nudged Jungkook's back and he retreated it when the omega skewed to take a right. The two walked slowly into the night. Looking at people smooching each other didn't help the omega, and the alpha could tell. He had to make Jungkook comfortable with him, but so far, that hadn't happened.

He grunted meekly, thinking that he didn't have to be so domineering, but teaching the omega how to take care of himself was necessary too. "Do you ever go back to Korea?" He asked after they had walked a few meters from the lake.

Jungkook looked up at the sky, thinking about the last time he did travel to his birthplace. "I haven't been a frequent traveler. But I dunno... there's nothing much to do there."

Jimin hummed, concentrating on each word the omega was saying. "How about your father?"

"He doesn't want to see me," Jungkook replied without any strain — as if it had stopped bothering him.

"What is the deal with the chefs back at the hotel? I have seen you looking at them whenever you are around me. Do they scare you, doll?" Jimin asked, under the influence of the caring emotions towards Jungkook that suddenly surrounded him.

"Not really, but I am afraid to lose my job. Since they are the head chefs, we have to listen to them. My friend lost his job because they reported him to management. We have very strict hotel policies."

Jimin took the guitar case from Jungkook's hands so that he could carry it. The omega looked stunned to speak, but in the end, he only smiled while attempting to hide the blush and failed eminently. "It looks to me that they don't want you around other people because they want you to be around them."

"That could be true too," Jungkook grinned. "I am not like other omegas, you know."

"Yeah," Jimin smiled, licking his lips a little. "Someone might have mentioned it... Once or maybe twice."

Jungkook chuckled, looking at Jimin through his unadulterated joy. They had reached in front of a house as they stopped, but Jungkook's jubilance had to halt as he felt Jimin's uneasiness and he knew what was happening. His face paled as Jimin dropped the guitar case and his lust-filled eyes stared at him darkly. "You are in a rut." Jungkook gushed.

"Jungkook, doll," Jimin lunged to hold the omega's face. "You fucked up my cycle."

Jungkook felt his soul leaving his body. The blame meant that now he had to pay for what he did. His body started sweating and his ears started ringing. "Call this number," Jimin pulled Jungkook's soul back into his body while handing him his phone. "Call them here and call them now."
