CHAPTER THREE

I grinned widely at myself as I spun around in my prom dress and my Mom and both of my Grandma's stared at me in awe. "I swear Hailey, you design the most beautiful dresses." My Grandma Angela grinned widely and my Grandma Hailey thanked her as my Mom wiped away a tear.
"You look absolutely stunning, Alleah." My Mother whispered as she pulled me into a tight hug and I giggled.
"Don't cry now, Mom." I teased and everyone laughed.
"Austin is going to die once he sees you." Faith teased and I felt myself instantly blush at the thought of Austin. I couldn't wait to see his reaction.
"Well, let's go show him!" I exclaimed excitedly and we all left my room and headed towards the stairs.
His reaction was better than anything I could've ever imagined. His jaw was almost on the floor as he stared me up and down and I giggled. I was the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing boyfriend. "Alleah, you look so beautiful." He admitted with the biggest grin on his face and I giggled again.
"Thank you, you don't look too bad yourself." I teased and he cupped my face in his hands and gave me the sweetest kiss that took the breath out of my lungs. I never wanted it to end until someone cleared their throat. We pulled apart and it was Grandma Hailey smirking at us.
"Let's get some pictures, kiddos." She winked at me, and I looked over at Faith to see Luke staring at me in surprise.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" I asked worriedly and he chuckled as he shook his head.
"Nope, I'm just surprised you're wearing a dress." He teased and glared at him as he and Austin laughed at me. I may be a cheerleader, but I hated skirts and dresses with a passion. You couldn't do anything fun in a skirt or dress without worrying about them flying up on you.
"Alright, squeeze in close kids! Now smile!" My Mom took a bunch of pictures and after a while, my eyes were starting to hurt from the flash of the camera.
"Okay baby, I think that's enough." My Dad chuckled as he placed his hand on her waist and she pouted at him.
"I just want to capture everything."
"I know, but if we keep going at this rate, they'll never make it to the prom." We all laughed and my Mom grinned as she rolled her eyes at him.
"Well alright, let's head outside to the limo!" She yelled and we all cheered.
I began to follow everyone outside when Grandma Hailey stopped me and pulled me aside. "Now Alleah, I know you're a very responsible young lady and you know I'm not dumb. I was your age once too and I know that you and Austin are sexually active-"
"Grandma!" I hissed as my cheeks turned bright red from embarrassment. This cannot be happening right now. I'm definitely hallucinating. My Grandma is not giving me 'the talk' right now before prom.
"May I remind you that I had your Dad when I was fifteen. Now," She grabbed my purse and started putting something inside it. When I realized they were condoms, I nearly died right there on the spot. "If you're gonna have sex, I at least want you to be safe." She winked at me then handed my purse back to me. "Have fun, sweetie." She kissed my cheek then quickly walked away leaving me standing there in shock.
"Baby, you okay?" Austin asked as he waved his hand in front of my face, finally breaking me out of my trance.
"You will never guess what the Hell just happened." I whispered as I grabbed his arm and basically ran out of the house while I told him about what my Grandma just did.
He burst into a fit of laughter and then checked my purse to see if I was joking, but when he saw the condoms inside it only caused him to laugh harder. "Hey! What's so funny?" Luke asked as he and Faith walked up to us. Austin told them what happened and soon they were all laughing with him.
"It's not funny! That was the most embarrassing moment in my entire life!" I whined as I hid my face in my hands and Austin wrapped his arms around me.
"It's okay, Allie. I think it was very sweet of Grandma Hailey." He teased and I smacked his chest as everyone laughed again.
"Come on, kids! It's time to go!" My Dad called out to us, and Austin kissed my head as we started to head towards the car.
"We'll definitely be needing those later though." He winked at me, and I felt myself blush as I shook my head.
"You are ridiculous." I chuckled and hugged my parents goodbye then we were off to the prom.
When we got to the hotel where the school was hosting our prom out, we all stared at it in disbelief. "Damn, this place is nice!" Austin admitted and we all agreed with him then quickly exited the limo and headed inside. We took a bunch of pictures and claimed a table. "Would you like to dance?" Austin held out his hand to me and I grinned up at him as I took it and he pulled me onto the dance floor.
We danced for what felt like hours and took a million pictures, then finally it was time to find out who won prom king and queen. Austin squeezed my hand tightly and smiled down at me. "Don't worry babe, we got this in the bag. No girl here looks as beautiful as you do." He assured me and I blushed as I leaned up and gave him a quick kiss.
"The winner for prom king is Austin Mendes!" Our principal announced and I cheered as Austin kissed me again then ran up on the stage. I giggled as he wore his crown proudly and waved at the crowd as everyone cheered. "And your prom queen is Alleah Banks!" I gasped and everyone cheered even louder. Faith screamed as she hugged me tightly then pushed me towards the stage.
"I told you you'd win!" She yelled after me and I giggled as I quickly walked up the stage and had someone place a crown on my head.
Austin and I got to share a special slow dance and he stared down at me with so much love in his eyes that it caused my heart to race against my chest and my knees to feel weak. "I am the luckiest guy in the world to have a girlfriend like you." He admitted as he pressed his forehead against mine and I bit my lip as I began to blush.
"I love you, Austin." I whispered and he grinned widely down at me.
"I love you too, Alleah." He kissed me and our class cheered.
I collapsed down into a chair next to Luke a little while later and he was staring silently at the crowd. "Where's Faith? Why aren't you guys dancing?" I asked and he gestured toward the dance floor where Faith was dancing with her ex-boyfriend Bryan. "Oh my gosh, Luke! I'm so sorry, I can't believe she'd do that to you." Luke shrugged as he turned his attention back to me.
"It's okay, she and I talked, and we realized we were at the prom with the wrong person." I stared at him confused, but before I could question him Faith ran up to the table and grabbed my hand.
"I have got to talk to you!" Luke stared at her with pleading eyes, and she gave him a wink as I looked between the both of them with even more confusion.
"Okay, what is going on?"
"Just come to the bathroom with me!" She pulled me up from the chair and basically dragged me towards the bathroom.
"Alright, you got me out here, now what is it? I'm actually kind of mad at you for what you did to Luke." I folded my arms against my chest, and she nodded.
"I know it looks bad, but I can promise you that Luke is totally fine with me getting back together with Bryan because he has feelings for someone else."
"Fine, who does he have feelings for? And why'd you drag me out here?" I asked, getting a little annoyed because I told Austin I'd be out on the dancefloor when he returned from the bathroom, and I didn't want him to get worried.
"Luke's moving to California after graduation and getting signed by a huge record label!" She exclaimed and I gasped.
"Oh my God! He emailed them his demo like I told him to?" I asked in disbelief, and she grinned widely as she nodded.
"Yes! He was too scared to tell you, so he wanted me to do it!" We squealed excitedly and then she hugged me tightly.
I opened my eyes and saw something at the end of the hallway that looked like two people making out and giggled. "Faith, let's go!" I whispered as I pulled away and she looked at me confused till I pointed at the couple at the end of the hall. "I don't wanna interrupt them." I teased and she smirked.
"Get a room!" She yelled out and we giggled as they jumped from Faith's loud voice.
"I'm really sorry about my friend, we were just leaving." I giggled, but before we turned around, they pulled apart to reveal their faces. Once I realized who they were, my heart dropped, and it felt like my heart had shattered into a thousand tiny little pieces as I stared at them in disbelief. Austin and Brooke were staring back at me in complete shock as my grin slowly disappeared from my face.
"No fucking way." Faith breathed out in disbelief.
"Austin...?" I called out, unsure if this was actually happening to me right now or I was having a really awful nightmare.
"Alleah, wait! It's not what it looks like." He quickly jogged over to me as tears flooded my eyes and Brooke stayed frozen behind him.
"It's not? Because it looked like you just had your tongue down her throat before I interrupted you two." I grimaced and Austin shook his head quickly.
"It meant nothing to me, Alleah. I promise-"
"I have to go." I croaked out and quickly walked back into the prom. I didn't want to hear another word coming out of his lying mouth.
"Oh my God, Leah! I'm so sorry. I swear I didn't know that they were hooking up." Faith said next to me, but I just ignored her and headed straight towards Luke. He was Austin's best friend surely; he would've told Luke about him and Brooke.
"Hey pretty ladies, what- whoa! Allie, what's wrong?" Luke asked worriedly as he jumped from his seat and stood in front of me.
"Did you know?" I asked and he stared at me confused.
"Know about what? What's going on?" He looked at Faith for help, but she just smiled at him apologetically.
"Tell me the truth, Luke. Did you know that Austin was cheating on me with Brooke?" I demanded and his jaw dropped in shock.
"Austin was doing what?" He yelled, then looked behind me and I turned around to see Austin approaching us.
"I need to get out of here." I sobbed as tears started to fall from my eyes and frantically, grabbed my stuff off the table.
"Come with me, my parents got me a room upstairs, and that way Austin won't know where to find you." I nodded eagerly then Luke grabbed my hand and we started to run towards the exit.
"Faith, come on!" I yelled out to her, but she shook her head.
"Bryan and I will stop Austin from following you guys, just go!" I gave her a thankful smile then ran with Luke towards the elevator.
