Chapter 6

Junior Year

Hailey heard the front door shut and sighed. "Hailey, he's gone." Her Mom said and Hailey walked down the stairs. Bianca stared at her daughter and shook her head. "I can't believe you just let him go Hailey." Bianca said as she folded her arms and Hailey stared at her.

"Mom, I did the right thing-"

"No Hailey, you think you did the right thing." Bianca said and Hailey sighed again as they walked outside to her Mom's car.

Hailey sighed as she walked inside the school and up to her locker. "So," Cara said walking up to Hailey. "Heard you and Chris no longer talk to each other." She teased and Hailey just ignored her. "He came crying to me a couple months ago saying you rejected him and ever since then I've been making him feel so much better if you know what I mean." She said and Hailey just ignored her as she threw her book bag in her locker angrily. "Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for giving him back to me." She sneered and then walked off. Hailey took in a deep breath and shut her eyes.

Chris walked into the school and noticed Cara talking to Hailey but Hailey was just ignoring her. As Cara walked off, a tear escaped Hailey's eye and she took a deep breath. Now he wanted to know what Cara had said to Hailey that would've made her upset. Hailey closed her locker slowly and noticed Chris staring at her from the end of the hallway and more tears started to swell up in her eyes as she quickly rushed off to class. Chris sighed and walked off to class.

Hailey walked to her seventh period chorus class and noticed Chris also walking into that class. They both stopped and stared at each other, there was no point in avoiding each other anymore. "Hi..." Hailey said nervously as they stood in front of each other outside of the class room.

"Oh now you're talking to me again?" He asked sarcastically and Hailey looked down at the ground sadly.

"I'm sorry about what happened two months ago, Chris." Hailey said as she looked back up at him. Chris stared at her with his arms folded and then shook his head angrily.

"I told you I loved you Hailey, all you did was push me away. I apologized for what I had done to you and you still wanted to hold a grudge-"

"It's not my fault I can't trust you anymore Chris, you only told me you loved me because you wanted to sleep with me! Are you happy now? You finally got what you wanted and oh look! I come with a surprise when I lost my virginity to an asshole, I got a baby!" Hailey shouted and Chris stared at her angrily.

"I'm terrified of love Hailey! It scares the living Hell outta me! When I told you I loved you, I meant it. I left because you are the first girl I've ever fallen for and I just... I just left. I was scared and I'm sorry." He said and Hailey bit her lip.

"I'm sorry too." She whispered and then quickly walked inside.

Hailey quickly got John out of his car seat once she got home and began to sob uncontrollably as she clutched him to her. "Oh John," Hailey sobbed. "I love him." She finally admitted and Chris slowly closed the door. Hailey quickly turned around and stared at him wide eyed. "W-what are you doing here?" She asked nervously and Chris held up John's diaper bag.

"You left this in the car..." He trailed off as he sat it on the counter and slowly walked up to her, taking John out of her arms and placing him back in his car seat.

"What are you doing?" Hailey asked nervously as Chris slowly placed his hand on her cheek softly.

"Something I should've done a long time ago." He whispered. He then slowly leaned in and Hailey gasped and was about to say no when his lips came crashing down on to hers. He placed his hand on the side of her hip and pulled her close. Hailey's eyes slowly drifted shut in pleasure and she suddenly tangled her fingers in his hair pulling his head closer to hers as they began to make out with each other. That kiss exploded with passion and it made their hearts race.

John's giggle caused them to stop and slowly pull away to smile down at him. "Well, I think he likes the idea of us being together." Chris teased and Hailey bit her lip as she smiled at her son and then at Chris.

"Yeah... and I think I like it too." Hailey whispered and Chris leaned down to kiss her again sweetly.
