I've moved from shelter to shelter
And for the fourth time tonight
I've been chased again
No wonder the children sing it away.

Tired and hungry as I maybe,
Believe me, the rain has only just begun.
The smell of sand signals the new beginning
As the heavens keenly cry their hearts out.

Tears of angels
Praying for God's mercy
Against mankind's foul play
Rain should at least wash sins away.

I am the happiest though among the despairing homeless
For others have families and their kids fall sick
From fevers and colds and empty stomachs
It may have been a blessing, that Bethany left me.

Nowhere nice to lie down
Never really thought I'd love anything 'dry'
Again, the kids wish it away
Rain, rain go away.

The sun smiles upon us again, another day.
A body of light and warmth never quitting.
Never quite giving up the chance to shine again.
Like a mother's undying love, it embraces its tired children on God's earth.

With the rainbow, the world vibrates in newfound confidence
The charisma of light once again prevails
But darkness may live to taunt us another day
Rain, please go away.
