Travis's POV
Okay I admit it.

I've liked Katie for a long time.

And not just in the friends way.

She's really fun to prank, one of my favorite victims. She argues a lot with me and Connor though, mostly me.

Girls seem to dislike the boys they like right?

I don't know why I like her so much.

Well, I guess since she is really pretty, with long wavy brown hair and green eyes, or maybe because of our rivalry? Oh well.

Today I was going to give her a Christmas gift, since Christmas was Katie's favorite holiday. It was one of those bug eating plants, I think Venus fly traps?

I hope she likes it. If she loves nature does that mean she likes bugs too? Hopefully not.

In side of the plants mouth, I had put a note.

I walked up to her grass roof cabin and knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" someone called from within.

I cleared my throat. "Travis."

I heard some whispers in the cabin before Katie opened the door.

"Yes?" She said, her expression hostile and a little wary.

"Umm, I wanted to give you a gift." I said shoving the plant into her hands.

"A Venus Fly Trap? this thing isn't rigged is it?"

"No it's not a prank." I replied truthfully, looking deep into her leaf green eyes.

"Oh, well okay." her eyes softened a little bit, I guess she believed me.

"Well, bye now." I said nervously and walked away. I could feel her eyes on the back of my head.

I went off to talk to Connor.

Katie's POV
I stood there for a few minutes before closing the door.

"What was that all about?" My sister, Jada asked.

"Travis Stoll." I muttered.

"Oh that boy you like?" She teased.

"I Do Not Like Him!!!" I said and felt my cheeks heating up.

"Uh huh."

I sighed and collapsed on my bed.

I fingered the plant in my hand, it's mouth was closed.

That's weird, the thing in between it didn't look like a fly.

I pried open the mouth to see a small piece of paper.

I opened it up to see a note.

"Will you go out with me? -Travis"

I gasped. There was also a beautiful ring inside too. It was gold, with tiny leaf shaped emeralds wrapping around it.
I slipped it on my finger. it fit perfectly.

"What is it?" Jada questioned.

"Nothing."

She looked over my shoulder.

"Omigosh! Travis likes you!" She sqealed. Everyone else looked at us with surprise.

"Shhhhhh! Keep it down would you!"

"Do you like him back?" She asked excitedly, her eyes practically glowing.

"I-I'm not sure." I stuttered, blushing again. I had mixed feelings for him. He was really cute and funny, but he always pranked me.

"You so totally do like him! I ship it! Tratie! Tratie!"

"Fine!"

I walked out of my cabin, and went to find Travis.

I found him down at the lake, staring out over the water.

"Hey." I said sliding down beside him.

"He-ey." He jumped.

"So um, I got your gift."

"Oh you did?" He blushed.

"Yes, and I loved it."

You could see the obvious relief on his face.

"That's great-"

I cut him off with a kiss. he was surprised for a minute, but then got into it.

When we pulled away, we both were out of breath and smiling at each other.

"Merry Christmas, Katie."

"It not really Christmas, it's Christmas Eve."

"Well whatever."

I have to say it was one of the best Christmases I'd ever had.
