Pierce and Dr. Brenner

*Laura Kinney's POV*

I'd woken up way too early this morning; having had yet another nightmare to keep me up. Although now it was ten til twelve and most normal people were up. Which, of course, meant my father was still asleep. If you'd let him, I'm pretty sure he'd sleep all day.
So right now like any good daughter I was going to wake him up, and tell him to get his lazy butt up and do something worth wild. "Logan," I spoke softly. "Daddy, wake up." Each time I spoke I got louder. "Despertarse." I say sternly. "No haga que utiliza agua fría para despertarle."
Glancing at the beer beside his bed, I considered spilling it on him, but that'd more then likely sting. "Dad, come on, up it's noon already." The doorbell rings, cutting off my train of thought. Looking once more at the sleeping man, I went to the door.
A lady with longish brown hair and a stressed expression stands on the other side.
"Hello, sweety, is James Howlett here?" She asks.
I cross my arms. "Who want to know?" My accent coming out more than it was meant to.
She seemed a little taken back. "I...Um...My car broke down, and I promised to take my kids and their friends to the arcade." She pauses, looking oddly at me. "I wondered if he could take them for me since he's a cab driver."
"He used to be." I correct her.
"Could you.. Could you get him for me, please." She seemed very impatient.
"Si." I shut the door, and went back to Dad's room. Sometimes I wish I'd stayed with my friends. "De alguien en la puerta y que es el adulto aqui!" Finally I got him up.
"What the heck, Laura!" He states, not liking being woke up.
"There's a woman at the door and she wants you to take her kids to something called an arcade because her car broke down."
"Tell her I'll be there in a minute." He agrees.
I walk back to the door and smile. " He said he'd be here in a moment."
"Good. I'm going to-" A new figure ran up, talking a mile a minute.
"Mom, what'd the man say." The dark haired boy asks.
I gasp, it was Will, the boy I met at the park. "Will?"
He gazes up at me. "Laura?" He takes a step forward. "Laura." He threw his arms around me, making me freeze. "It's so cool to see you!"
"You too." I say with a smile. "Is El and the rest with you?"
"Yeah come on!" He grabs my hand then immediately let go. "I'm sorry, I'm so used to doing that, that I didn't th-" I cut him off. "It's OK." Grabbing his hand, we take off down the driveway.
It'd been about three months since I saw the group of teens, but we never left Hawkins so I knew we'd run into them again sometime.
"Guys, look!" Will exclaims excitedly as we approach his friends. "I found a friend."
Mike was the first to look up, but he quickly taps El's shoulder and whispers to her.
She turns quickly. "Laura!" She started toward me, but Dustin speaks up.
"El, I won't get near her, if I were you, I've done some comic research on her." He says. "She's quite a dangerous person."
"Especialmente si me cruza." I comment, a small smile tugging at my lips.
Max giggles. "No escuchar a Dustin, que es más tonto que las rocas." She responds.
"What'd she say about me?" Dustin demands.
"No importa." I wave a hand. "Not important."
"Laura!" Logan calls, as Will's mother and he make their way to us.
"Si."
"In the car, please." He makes a shooing motion toward the truck.
I nod, open the door, and slide in. Once inside the other kids follow.
"All you have to do is drop them off, and I should be able to pick them up. If not Ii'll call you." The lady said through the open window.
"Got it." Logan pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. "So where is this arcade?"
"Fifth and Maple. Bright yellow sign out front." Dustin describes excitedly.
"What's an ar-arcade?" I ask.
Dustin gasps. "You don't know that an arcade is?" He sounded as if he couldn't believe it. "No way."
Shaking my head, I turn to Dad waiting to hear what an arcade is, but he doesn't say a word.
"It's a place where kids go to play video games and hang out." Will answers.
"She had to have known that!" Dustin argues. "Unless she's lived like under a rock."
"That wasn't nice, Dustin." Lucas snaps. "You know X-Men have better things to do then play video games all day." Under his breath he adds. "Like you do."
Dustin hit him over the head.
"Hey! No fighting in my truck!" Logan shouts roughly.
"Yes,  Sir, sorry about that, Mr. Wolverine. Please don't chop me into pieces." Dustin cowers.
I can't help but notice Max's growing smile. She was probably very happy at the scene.
Before Dad could speak, we arrive at the building.
"You wanna come with us, Laur?" Max offers.
"Can I?" I ask, looking my father in the eyes.
"Go have fun, but we have to talk when you get home." He presses a ten dollar bill in my hand and drives away.
Oh no, not good, we have to talk.
"So you've really never been to an arcade?" Mike says.
"No, nunca." I reply, watching as his face twisted in confusion. I liked that look, it was satisfying.
"What the heck did she just say to you?" Lucas questions.
"She said, 'no, never'." Max translates.
"Gracias,"
"De nada," She nods.
I watch as Lucas gets some gold coin looking things from a guy.
"Here you want some help, Laura?" Will offers kindly.
I nod. "I'm not sure what to do."
Will leads me to the counter and instructs for me to give him the money so I do. The man hands me the same thing he did Lucas.
'Thanks." Will says and turns to leave.  "So on you feed the tokens to a machine and you play a game."
I nod, and walk to a machine that read PAC-MAN in big bold letters. After the coins went in, the screen changed and a little object appeared along with what looks like ghost.
"Don't let the ghosts eat you." El advises after a second or two. "If they eat you, you die."

******......******

We've been here about thirty minutes now, and to be honest it's a lot of fun. Have way through we decided to put the girls against the guys, and the girls are beating them badly.
The door opens harshly, making us all look up. An all to familiar blonde headed man walks through the door followed by two other men. "Laura, darling, there you are." His southern accent clinging to every word he says. "I've looked everywhere for you." He takes a couple threatening steps in my direction, and I take a step back, running straight into Will.
"What's wrong, Laura? Who is he?" He whispers into my ear.
"Bad." I whisper back.
"Now come on, honey, be a good little girl and come with me." He's getting closer now, only a couple feet away.
"I'm not going with you, Pierce." I shake my head. "No te acerques más." My claws slip out. I can see El out of the corner of my eye and she looks terrified. "Papa." She breathes. "Yes, El, I'm here to get you." A white headed man with a slight, unrecognizable accent. "Now come.""No." She states boldly. "I'm not going anywhere with you." "I'm afraid we're going to have to do this the hard way." Pierce sighs. "Boys." With the flick of his hand men appear from several directions. One of them grabs Mike pressing a gun to his temple. "Alright, Eleven, you want to play the hard way." The other man says. "Leave her alone, Brenner!" Lucas shouts. "She's not yours anymore.""Yeah she's ours now. Mom adopted her." Will agrees. "In that case." Pierce gestures and another goon roughly grabs Will." "Dejalos en paz." I spit. "Leave them alone!" "Come quietly, darling, and maybe, just maybe we will." Pierce says with a grin.

"Don't, laura." El warns. "I'm not, El." I assure. "We'll go down fighting." She says."Always." With that a fight began.

Just a small cliffhanger for ya.
I hope you enjoyed this part of the series of one shots.
It makes me really happy to see all the X-23 and 011 fan art (If you come across any cool ones or make one, PM it to me cause I'd love to see it), like it makes me really happy. I'd like to see more fanfics of them though.
Have you see Logan yet? If so did you like it? I know I loved it.
Thank you again to Nilili_Mama for making me write the first one shot that got this started. - Izzy
