user_101: yes exactly, Lisa cried during Jungkook's solo performance at the awards and now they broke up due to busy schedules🙄I cant believe this ToT

Liskookisreal: NO!!! This can't be true😭 I still support their decision though.😔💔

liskook4ever: I'm a little sad because I thought they made such a cute couple and I was really cheering for them. Wishing them all the best!! but still I feel so sad😭

meanhollys: I still don't see how this is any of our business. It's their lives. We don't need breaking news when someone starts dating or breaks up. We hope both of them are happy and healthy.

tzukookshipper: its good though. Now Tzuyu can finally have her man!

lalikook: @tzukookshipper please stfu and be respectful.

ewlizardkook: finally jungkook is mine and that Thai bitch doesn't deserve him😌

jikooklifeu: this wasn't going to work with all the hate surrounding them. I didn't ship them but I still respect them two.

iukook: knew it everything was for clout anyway😌

iam_yn: stop the clownery and respect their decision, idols are humans and not your toys to play with.

When the news about the breakup broke out, the Kpop fan community was taken up by a storm. After all, these were the idols they had least expected to break up and the reason was seemingly very absurd. The ship that had begun way back in 2016 was loved and appreciated like a beautiful fairytale by the fans which gave rise to a popular ship name, LisKook.

The only question that kept circulating around was that despite being members of two of the most popular and busiest Kpop groups, what made 'liskook' part ways so easily, suddenly without a rational explanation, how and why did everything happen?

Tapping on the wristwatch that he was wearing, Jungkook was ready. Heaving out a sigh, he grabbed his camera along with him as he left his apartment.

Stopping midway through a florist shop, he got in to buy a gorgeous bouquet of white daisies ㅡ the one that marked the basis of their relationship.

Reaching in front of the apartment complex, Jungkook waited for Lisa by the basement. Dressed in casuals and minimal makeup on her face ㅡ her ethereal beauty continued to mesmerize him. Adjusting her overcoat, she exited the lift, heading straight towards his car but was stopped, dazed at the present he gave her.

"Oh my God, they're beautiful! Thank you, Jungkook." She exclaimed, taking the flowers from him as he gave her a side hug.

"Happy Anniversary doll." He replied, giving out a bland smile.

After all, these would be the last bouquet he would be gifting her.

Lisa could already notice how expressionless he looked, because she was trying to suppress the emotions within herself too. She nodded, understanding before they headed off in the car.

For their last date.

The car ride was silent. It was as if they were headed off to wherever the road lead them, without any directions, any choice of their own.

When were they open to make their choices anyway? Because in this materialistic world, their fates were decided by their bosses, influenced by the society's notions.

Today was their anniversary, of completing two years of their relationship. Yes, the two had been seeing each other since 2018 and started dating around December. It was finally in May of 2019 when they decided to officially confirm their relationship to their fans.

As opposed to the occasion, the atmosphere surrounding them felt so different today. Instead of being jolly, they were anxious. There wasn't any adrenaline rush gushing into their veins, heart fluttering in excitement of what the next adventure would be.

What was left of looking forward to a journey when there wouldn't be a next?

Although there were no exchanges made between them, they still had communicated a lot through their minds. Lisa loved Jungkook to death, so did Jungkook. Maybe the stars weren't just aligned perfectly for them.

Jungkook pulled up the car on the hill in the outskirts of Seoul ㅡ a place that was only known to and reserved for them whenever they were in need of a getaway from all the hectic schedules of the day.

"You really came prepared, didn't you? I look like an idiot at the moment." Lisa teased while rubbing her palms together to stay warm. "Then you maybe the most beautiful idiot in the planet." Jungkook flirted back, while getting the mat off the boot of the car along with a food basket

"You made this?" Lisa asked in a muffled voice as Jungkook fed her a piece of brisket with a fork.

"Yeah. You like it?"

"I love it." She happily munched on, as Jungkook chuckled looking at her puffed cheeks and pecked her mouth filled with food, earning a shocked feeling from the latter.

The view of the city lights made the view idyllic, as a slow yet sweet melody played on from the radio.

"Can I have this dance, madame?" Jungkook flaunted an Old British accent, his hand reaching out to his girlfriend who merrily accepted the request.

After having a good meal and a dance witnessed by the moon in the night sky, they sat cuddling onto each other to stay warm against the bitter cold night, counting the infinite number of stars in the sky and taking a trip down the memory lane.

"Jungkook?" Lisa quivered.

"Hmm?"

"Sometimes I wish that we would've kept everything a secret. Maybe then we wouldn't have suffered the consequences of the controversies we were dragged into. I still don't understand why we have to pretend something we're not, pretend as if we lost all affection for the bond we share, stay away from each other just for the sake of our reputation and external persona." Lisa teared up, her voice shaking.

She was well aware of the famous theory of sacrificing one thing to get another, that everything comes at a price. She just wasn't ready of giving away Jungkook.

"Y-you know, it's a tough decision for me too...over anything else, I don't want to let you go. But you know Lali, this isn't how the world works." Jungkook replied in an equally broken tone, trying to stay strong for her. For them. And for whatever was left of this relationship.

Lisa simply sighed at the bittersweet truth. On one hand, they were members of the most successful and biggest groups in kpop. Lisa and Jungkook's popularity was increasingly growing among masses; the names were now synonymous with the kings and queens of kpop. But here, the two individuals weren't just celebrities, they did have personal lives too. And today, they had become as vulnerable as victims of a model society's constitution. What an irony.

They fell into a loop of arguments; idols aren't supposed to date, they don't deserve each other and what not. But all of this does have a saturated point, right? After which some action had to be taken. The respective CEO's were already tired of all the death threats, ominous gifts and enormous amount of hate the idol's were receiving everyday, their privacy being invaded, several attempts to hack and gain access their social media accounts and manipulate their relationship and create a rift between the idols.

It was only then, Jungkook and Lisa were called in a private affair to give their final verdict: to stay in a relationship which had directly or indirectly turned toxic, or part ways under an unnecessary reason. Forced and exhausted, they had to go with the latter and tonight was the only time they could spend time, hold onto each other's presence while they still had the chance, before they cut off all ties with each other and go back to being strangers. In the eyes of the public, at least.

Jungkook felt his shirt getting wet, as Lisa sobbed silently in a deep seated pain of her heart.

"Baby." His hands went and cupped her cheeks as he examined her now traumatic state.

"I-I do take regards and plead guilty of all my felonies, ones that even I am not aware of. Maybe it's a crime that I'm ugly, a crime that I stole you from your uncountable number of girls claiming to be your girlfriends, a crime that I'm so untalented to not deserve you. W-why can't I be deserving of some love, some support. Why can't I just be happy with you, have no option to keep us together?"

Jungkook could comprehend Lisa was breaking up, and no matter how he tried to stay cool, he couldn't help the tears that now streamed down his face, he let his emotions take over him.

"Baby, look." He said, wiping off her tears that didn't threaten to stop. "My hyungs and your unnies have repeated this line from time immemorial that no matter how strong we seem to be, we'd still be a weakling at heart. I know, we can endure this. Maybe one day, we'll be able to get back together, but just have to wait when the time feels right." His arms went around her posture frame, as she let herself melt into him even more.

"I...love you." Lisa let out her genuine emotions, amidst sobs.

"I love you more. I will miss your doll-like eyes, your legendary forehead, your cheeks, your nose and most importantly, I will will miss you, Lali." He peppered her face with kisses, he was the one crying now.

In the moment that followed, Jungkook sealed his lips with his love, to which Lisa passionately kissing him back. Words felt short for the transient bliss each of them felt for those moments, that they would now cherish in their heartfelt treasure of golden memories.

Their cheeks were now tear stained and holding onto each other, they made their way back to the car. As the two witnessed their last snowfall together, Jungkook immediately engulfed Lisa's body into her very home, his arms. His coat was broad enough to fit her slim figure in.

To Jungkook, he just wanted to feel his girlfriend. He wanted to keep her away from all the sorrows and misery that embraced them, he wanted to shield her away from all the pain that persisted in the world.

For that one last time.

"You remember this?" Taking her cold hands into his, he pointed at the ring that rested proudly on her ring finger.

"I do. We got these couple rings, to mark the day we were official."

He kissed her hand gently, before slipping on another ring on her palm.

"What's this for?"

"This ring, take it for a promise. A promise, that I will be back to you again. I can't assure you when, but you need to promise you will wait for me."

"Even if my life calls for it, I will still wait for you. Till death." Lisa stepped on her toes and lay her lips on his once more.

"This isn't the end of us, it's just a present goodbye for a future hello."

THE END.
