»THIRD PERSON«
It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon at the Jeons residence. Newlyweds Jungkook and Lalisa were supposed to travel to Busan by car, where Jungkook's parents lived.
It would've taken them around four hours to drive from Seoul to Busan, if there wasn't much traffic on the way.
Jungkook set the GPS and estimated the amount of time it would take to reach there, if they started early.
I repeat, if they had started early.
Because everyone knew, the two of them were always late for any occasion they were scheduled to attend.
No, laziness wasn't the case. Things just wouldn't turn out the way they are and something would happen right on the day they're supposed to go out.
For instance, once when the two were still dating, a mutual friend Hoseok had called them for the inauguration ceremony of his new dance studio. They were all set to go, when suddenly Jungkook remembered they had run out of gas. They reached the place over an hour later, when the ceremony was already over, apologizing to Hoseok who gave them an earful.
Not to forget, when they reached the wrong address to attend Seokjin's daughter Lia's first birthday as Lisa forgot to consult the GPS for the directions.
Today, Jungkook had ensured everything was fixed on his part. He had refilled the gas, arranged the directions, watched the weather forecast - which predicted today it might rain heavily so it was better if they stayed at home. But Jungkook being Jungkook was sure that they could tackle the rain had they started two hours early.
Well that never happened.
Why you ask?
Jungkook forgot to inform Lisa about it.
Lisa had errands to run.
"Wait, you are actually telling me now! Seriously Guk?!!" Lisa was beyond shocked and looked at her husband with a betrayed expression.
Nodding his forehead and scratching his nape in an uncomfortable manner he replied,"Well didn't I say we could go to Busan this weekend when I talked to eomma about it?"
"And so you assumed that I will know it?" "Uh....yes?" "Wow. Great." She said, facepalming herself. "But it will take time, I have called in for the maintainance person to check up on the chimney." "Okay, we will leave after that is done."
Jungkook calculated that it might take only around half an hour for the maintenance work. Unfortunately he was so wrong.
The man was already late by fifteen minutes and when he started working on the chimney it took another forty minutes. "Why is he taking so long for that damn thing?!" Jungkook asked, frustrated uhm...*trusfrated*. "Why don't you just get ready by then? It's better than staying glued to the TV playing overwatch." Lisa rolled her eyes.
"Getting ready? Oh please....I take only a minute. It's you who takes so long." Jungkook had expected Lisa to burst off but the woman maintained her calm. Giving him a smug look, she said,"let's see how much time you take to get ready."
The confidence of the woman was insane. Jungkook felt challenged, his ego hurt. "Okay." He nodded his head and walked off to the room ready to prove his words.
Everything came crashing down within a matter of five minutes.
"Lalisa!! Where is my favourite leather jacket?" He called out. "Oh, weren't you the one to send it for a dry clean when I had advised you, not to?" She shouted back.
"What about the hoodieㅡ" "I don't think you would like to wear it in a chilly weather, you caught a cold last time you wore it." Jungkook could imagine a victorious smirk dawning his wife's face who stood there in the kitchen.
He was more worried about the maintenance guy who might probably be passing judgements about him. Talk about second hand embarrassment.
"Fuck." He cursed under his breath. He knew his chances of winning the argument were slimming down and he couldn't do anything about it.
The moment the guy left, he came out wearing a yellow buttoned up shirt, arms folded upto the elbows with a pair of faded jeans (I am so bad with descriptions, this is basically the outfit Jungkook wore in one of RM's vlives.)
"Took you twenty minutes. Cool."
She just smiled and headed to the room to get ready while Jungkook grumpily sat by the couch scrolling through his SNS.
Half an hour passed. Lisa had still not chosen her outfit. Every five minutes she would come out of the room to ask Jungkook about her outfit and self criticize it before heading in to change it. By now, Jungkook was completely pissed off. He was done with the fashion show chaos in the house, adding on to the fact that they were already late.
"Jungkook how isㅡ" "ENOUGH. Just fucking wear anything, its not like you're meeting my parents for the first time." "Oh....okay Jungkook, calm down. I'll go." Lisa didn't wish to argue any further.
But, bad luck followed.
It started to rain. Very heavily. Also accompanied by lightening and terrorizing terror. A gloomier atmosphere took over the house.
Jungkook had to apologize to his parents over the phone, regretting over the inconvenience - also suffering their taunts. In short, another plan, ruined.
Jungkook lashed out at Lisa, petrifying the shit of the girl. Soon the argument turned into a blame game, both of them trying to pick each other's faults.
Lisa hated being dragged into heated arguments the most, especially considering the fact that Jungkook never knew how to silence himself. He could let out a couple number of taunts without realizing how much hurtful they can be and this was what exactly happened.
By the time the argument was over, the situation became much worse. Lisa shut the room before dropping down to the cold yet comfy mattress, boiling in rage. Her eyes were bloodshot in anger that tears didn't even stain her cheeks. She tried to get rid of the scene from her mind, tried closing her eyes and rolling around the bed but miserably failed.
In a minute, Jungkook opened the door, his steps loud enough to be heard across the room. He wrapped his hand around Lisa's waist, his head leaning onto the bedrest. Lisa tried to shove him away, but he calmed her by stroking her hair softly.
She soon felt the warmth of his breath on his ear. "I'm sorry Lali. You know I get uncontrollably very angry at tense situations, I should've stopped being presumptuous about everything. It just creates so many misunderstandings between us. I'd still apologize no matter how long it is, unless you forgive me. I can't....I can't stand your silent treatment towards me. You know I'm like this. I....I'll also give you all of my banana milk but please, please don't be angry baby....there's nothing more I fear than your ignorance because you're too adorable to stay mad on."
He kissed her forehead with a true apology and Lisa felt his tear on her cheek. She quickly turned around, finding him wiping his tears trying to hide them from her. Her eyes softened. "You know I can't stay angry for long, don't you Guk? I was just messing up with you at first, I wasn't genuinely aware of the whole plan...I'm sorry Jungkook."
"Shhhh",he whispered before claiming her plump lips while cuddling on tightly to her frame, as if she were the most delicate piece of art on the earth he never wished to let go off as the rain continued to pour outside.
THE END.

My version of the original story was way too different than this, basically my friend's parents kinda argued a little when we were having a sleepover and it was a bit embarrassing for us to eavesdrop over that and then the situation turned normal again.

I know this isn't what you exactly expected, but I tried to create an imagery using the rain, lol. I still hope it's up to the mark though.
I sometimes wonder why these oneshots are slowly turning into couple fights🤡 nevertheless I hope this was good enough to read.
Please vote and comment down if you enjoyed reading this little piece of work! Would mean a lot💜
