Dusk Before the Dawn

I'm counting down the days to the rest of my life,

but I'm tethered to the weight of my past.

Unlike others, my ghosts are as dear as my friends,

I never imagined this all wouldn't last.

I see the cracks forming, the floor is falling,

But i'm frozen in place with my heart,

Every street has a memory, each building a thought,

I never imagined we would part.

My soul is tearing, I can feel it bleed,

as the past and the future fight on,

It's a ying-yang fiasco I never saw coming

But i know dusk must come before dawn.
